Tapper to Gibbs: Can you clarify Biden’s moronic comment about subways?

posted at 3:55 pm on April 30, 2009 by Allahpundit

Funny but mean in that it’s a question designed simply to make Gibbs squirm. No one can “clarify” what Greasy Joe said because what he said was perfectly clear: He’s freaked out about swine flu — needlessly — and doesn’t have the good sense as a politician to keep that fact to himself so as not to worry the public. This makes twice now in four days that Team Barry has panicked New York City while providing rich fodder for gallows humor. What do they have planned for the weekend? Obama idly wondering aloud whether skyscrapers built before the 1980s might be structurally unsound?

Tom Maguire said all that needs to be said about this: “They told me that if I voted for McCain we’d have a Vice President who was a moron … and they were right!”

D0WNT0WN on April 30, 2009 at 3:59 PM

I read an interview a few weeks back. Tapper was the subject. He went so far as to say, he doesn’t even vote, to keep his objectivity. He’s a rarity in the MSM’s arena, but I’m glad just the same, that he’s there. He seems legitimate to me, and actually wants the facts to report, and not live in that world of enchantment others seem to be content with.

Kind of ashame for them all to work at journalism. Any idiot can sit, and faun all over another idiot.

What’s funny about Mr. Gibbs’ efforts to explain the VP’s comments is that he tries to sound so matter-of-fact about it. He tries to sound as though it’s completely obvious what the VP said.

This is the same tone of voice he uses with all his flubs…of which there are many. He tries to sound authoritative but really comes off like an uninformed, shallow, doctrinaire doofus.

In some part of the press office they must be wishing they had a Tony Snow to do this job for them.

This whole comedy routine would be a lot funnier if the tickets weren’t costing our children a couple of trillion dollars, and possibly costing us our lives. The purpose of the federal government is to defend its citizens, promote their confidence in the economy, enforce the law impartially, and drain away as little money through taxation as possible. These guys are like the antimatter version of a good government: defending the country is a distraction, the citizens need to be booted out of the economy and replaced with political operatives, the law is either a minor obstacle to their plans or an inconvenient skin rash for corrupt politicians with a (D) after their name, and they look at the wealth of free citizens as a drain on the federal treasury.
