You’re trying to make “ownership” sound negative. Would you feel better if we call it “belonging”? For almost 36 years my wife and I have belonged to each other. Love and committment is a form of ownership, whether you want it to be or not. I sense that you are arguing against the abuse that people can heap upon their “belongings”. If that’s your point, then no disagreement here.

Honestly, I’m not sure which I would rather be under. There’s no question that the militant gays, if they ran everything like the Taliban does, would act fairly much the same. I probably would rather be under the Taliban though. At least many of my beliefs are okay under the Taliban–a strong family, faithfulness to God, etc. And when they execute me for praying to someone other than Allah, I’m a martyr. When the gaystapo executes me for being “intolerant,” they’ll do their best to be “politically correct” about it. I.E. they will try to destroy me body, soul, spirit, and erase my family name from history.

Hyperbole? Just look at the current gay leaders actions and tell me that if they had sole power to do what they want, I’d be wrong.

You can probably have your marriage recognized by the state while they probably can’t.

Ah, yes, I remember well the dark days of 1995-1997, when I lived with two gay men in a ghetto. During the day, we would eat feral cats and dodge Church patrols bent on ‘turning us straight.’ Even though I am hetero-sexual, I know for a fact i was targeted by Governor Booosh for re-education. I’ll never forget my public humiliation when I finally left the gay ghetto..I had to demonstrate my hetero sexuality so I could join the mainstream. I left my roommates my ration card and my transistor radio..and I’ve never looked back. Now that gays are being given basic civil rights, I’m able to look myself in the eye again. Thanks to people like you AP, my roommates won’t have to eat garbage and burn animal carcasses for heat anymore. Free at last…

No kidding. I voted for their damn Prop 8 because I figured they’re entitled to as much misery as straights. But after seeing their hissy fit, stomping on old ladies in Palm Springs, methinks — screw you. You just want to hijack the institution to sue churches for making you feel bad about yourselves.

I love how you say your patience is wearing thin, as if you are saying that if gays don’t tow the line you will punish them. Ha. You have no power to do anything. There is no stopping gay rights and I assure you they don’t need to stay in your good graces to continue to be wildly successful at legislation for such a “small” minority group in America.
