In cold blood: Taliban gun down couple for “adultery” in Pakistan

Coming soon to Islamabad, a shining example of the glories of shari’a. This is the second cell-phone video of Taliban brutality this month to “shock” Pakistan; the uproar over the first was sufficient to merit a story in the NYT. How is it, I wonder, that people who share a country with these degenerates are more surprised by their behavior than I am? This is who they are, and this is what they do. It’s one thing for Americans to have been sleepwalking about jihadism before 9/11 considering that it was almost entirely an overseas phenomenon, but what’s Pakistan’s excuse?
Too late now, in any case.
Islamabad’s defences are being hurriedly fortified, with paramilitary troops stationed on the Margalla Hills, which overlook the city from the West. In the capital, there are thousands of followers of the radical Red Mosque, where there are now open calls for Islamic revolution at the weekly Friday prayers.
“The Taliban will not stop at Swat. They will come towards Islamabad,” said Hasan Askari Rizvi, a military analyst based in Lahore. “If the army is to take action against them, it is going to be a really bloody battle. And then civil government will be knocked out.”
“Extremist groups based in Islamabad will move from within and they (Taliban) will build pressure from outside.”
According to the Telegraph, the Taliban actually invited a local reporter to record this as a warning to anyone who might see it of what’s coming. The Pakistani military liquidated 30 of them today, to serve notice that taking Islamabad won’t be easy, but there have been what seems like 100 of these halting operations over the last few years all following the same pattern: Tough talk from the government, incursion into the tribal areas, fighting ending in a stalemate, and finally “peace treaty” and withdrawal. I wonder how much territory they’ll get when the treaty ending this latest op is signed. Content warning.

Forcing that idiotic election in Pakistan was one of the dumbest moves in years. Bring back Musharraf.
Muslim societies cannot control themselves and cannot be trusted with self-rule and individual liberty. Even Turkey is in the midst of having an islamic takeover of state powers, thanks to the EU forcing Turkey to change their constitution and take away supreme power from the military (which Turkish history has shown to be a necessity).

I somehow can’t shake the feeling that the very people who forced Musharraf out are the ones ruling the roost at the State and I also can’t shake the feeling that the cronies of Obama had something to do with it.
The left, NYT and the Soros crowd howled out loud about Pakistan’s lack of democracy and forced Musharraf out. The irony is the new government headed by Bhuttos who were actually responsible for the creation of the Taliban.

I doubt that it is just the Taliban that is doing all this. Any true follower of Mohammad would do these kinds of things. Not that the Taliban aren’t doing much/most of this, but I suspect that “Taliban” is being used as an “umbrella” term.

Unfortunately, Bush had a bug up his azz about “democracy” (and Condi, too, as Wethal pointed out). The Precedent and his gang of lunatics are certainly far worse but they come at these problems from different angles – like trying to ally with the Taliban and any other America-haters. Treason doesn’t bother The Precedent, or any of his brain-dead toadies. They seem to really like the feeling of betraying the US.

Clueless Condi.
Condi is a dangerous incompetent
Considering her remarks about America’s “birth defect” — an egregious term for any secretary of state to use about a nation that has brought more liberty to more races, colors and creeds than any in history — I am struck anew how deeply Rice’s vision of race in America, or, perhaps, in segregated Birmingham, affects her vision of America in the wider world. It is as if Rice sees American influence as a means by which to address what she perceives as disparities of race or Third World heritage on the international level.
This would help explain her ahistorical habit of linking the civil rights movement to the Bush administration’s effort to bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan. Indeed, in a 2003 speech to the National Association of Black Journalists, she argued that blacks, more than others, should “reject” the “condescending” argument that some are not “ready” for freedom. “That view was wrong in 1963 in Birmingham and it’s wrong in 2003 in Baghdad,” she said. In 2006, she made a similar point. “When I look around the world and I hear people say, `Well, you know, they’re just not ready for democracy,’ it really does resonate,” Rice told CBS’s Katie Couric. “It makes me so angry because I think there are those echoes of what people once thought about black Americans.”
There’s something shockingly provincial at work here. In seeing so much of the world through an American prism of race, Rice has effectively blinded herself to historical and cultural and religious differences between Islam and the West. To put it simply, neither Baghdad nor Gaza is Birmingham. And nothing in all of history quite compares to Philadelphia.

John Kerry’s not so secret any longer MySpace entry:
Hi there fellow bloggers. My name is United States Senator John Forbes Kerry from the great state of Massachusetts. You can call me JFK if you want. I was born on December 11, 1943, although people tell me that I look at least 20 years younger. It’s probably my great hair and rugged good looks.
I graduated from Yale in June 1966 in the top 1% of my class. To earn extra money during the summers, I loaded trucks in a grocery warehouse and sold encyclopedias door to door. That is probably one of the reasons that I am so humble. Over my four years at Yale, I maintained a 96 grade average and received a 101 average in my senior year.
I am one of the most senior members of that grand and much loved and respected institution known as the U.S. Senate. Probably the only living Senator even a little bit greater than me is my dear friend Ted Moore Kennedy. I also have a very high IQ. Very high. At least 250 on a bad day. Much higher than that creep who stole the election from me. I know that he stole it because exit polls are never ever wrong.
I am also a great war hero. I set all kinds of records for heroism when I was in Vietnam. I was grievously wounded at least three times yet continued to insist on staying in the fight when lesser men would have given up. I won the bronze star with extra V’s for extra valor and the Silver Star for defeating a whole battalion of NVA with my bare hands.
Sometimes I feel like a had to carry all the water for those other ungrateful swiftboaters.
I sometimes like to chill out after a long day of serving the American people by having a double martini with my good friend Ted. We usually have our servant getalife, when she is not too busy making a complete fool out of herself on Hotair, bring us 21 double martinis. I get one and Ted gets one for each of his fingers and each of his toes. Contrary to what some of my very few enemies say I never marry women for just their money. They must also have a pulse. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam? I was also in Cambodia, so don’t forget that!
I would like to think that I am open minded, honest, polite, heroic and trustworthy. And I appreciate the same qualities in others although I am realistic enough to know that no one else could come close to me.
Turn offs: other politicians who spend more on haircuts than I do. That is just not right.
Who I’d like to meet:
…other progressive bloggers. Other great war heroes who hate that damn S-T-U-P-I-D Texan in the White House and those lying sons of #itcher swiftboat #astardos whose pants are on fire! Cool people who live close to Washington D.C. so that we can get together, talk about you for about 30 seconds and then spend about 9 hours talking about me. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam and Cambodia? Just one more BTW, if anyone has found my magic hat please return to me.

Those people who see these videos will thank the US that they wont be subject to such totalitarian nightmares.
The Taliban/AQ on the other hand are worse than vermin and have never gotten past the 5th century -and they are the creation of Pakistan ( whose creation in itself was the biggest tragedy post-Holocaust.)
The Paki military jihadi complex is so transparently revealing now, and this is exactly why the US is creeped out.
Pakistan has been “fighting” this war for 8 years now – and they now have the Taliban within 50 miles of their capital Islamabad – tells you how real the fighting was.

Bush Doctrine in action…..get used to it.
Bush pushed the Taliban into Pak, so he could “enable” the “spread of freedom” in Afghanistan.
Now the Taliban have forced the Pak government to cede the Swat valley to them, and they are in a days push of some of the Pak nuke sites.
Now Afghanistan is a failed state, Iraq is on its way to being a failed state, and Pak is on its way to being Lebanon, with the Taliban playing the part of Hizb’ allah and with the added bonus of around 100 nukes.
genius, eh?
