Spicoli: Hugo Chavez is a “warm and friendly man”
posted at 9:01 pm on April 23, 2009 by Allahpundit
Via Gateway Pundit, a good example of why, try as I might, I can never get too angry at Penn for his useful idiocy. Like Meghan McCain, he’s basically guileless. Anyone with an ounce of political savvy would know better than to try to humanize a terrorist-supporting, clownish turd. Spicoli lacks even that ounce. Why, it’s almost endearing.
I know President Chavez well. Whether or not one agrees with all his policies, what is certainly true of Chavez is that he is a warm and friendly man with a robust sense of humor (who daily risks his own life for his country in ways Dick Cheney could never imagine). To treat such a man coldly is akin to spitting on him. As a country we’ve done enough of that. Say what you will, but it has only resulted in the self-celebration of our smirking spitters, while costing us international respect, American lives, and left wounds in the hands of our children’s future. The Cheneys, down to the O’Reillys and Hannitys and Limbaughs, effectively hate the principles upon which we were founded. They are among the greatest cowards in all of American history. I applaud an American President who’s tough enough … to smile.
This admiration society is mutual, you’ll be pleased to know, and no wonder: Penn’s proved himself willing to defend even Chavez’s most illiberal moves. If you’re the praying sort, spare a prayer tonight for a man who thinks Rush Limbaugh’s a greater threat to our founding principles, like freedom of speech, than a guy who shuts down opposition television stations for criticizing him. Exit quotation: “I would think that I was losing ground.”

Now, many may doubt Penn’s claim here, but I actually might be willing to believe that Chavez is a “warm and friendly man.”
At least to those close to him and his allies.
But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a murderous, tyrannical dictator to his opponents or the average Venezuelan.
After all, Hitler loved his dogs and Stalin was a doting father to Svetlana.
But that doesn’t erase the blood from his hands.

How? Facing assassination risks? People have attempted to assassine Dick Cheney.
Freedom, liberty, life, etc.? And Hugo Chavez respects the right to speak one’s mind without retribution? Please.
Yeah, that’s real tough. Smiling and kissing ass takes one hell of a fighter.
That would be because Penn’s not a true classical liberal. He’s fine with infringements on freedom and silencing opposition as long as it accomplishes far-left goals.

Spicoli Penn was recently selected to play Larry Fine in the new 3 Stooges movie.
He wasn’t even good enough to be a Moe or Shemp or Curley Howard.
I always liked Shemp the best, by the way-brilliant physical comedian who could also learn his lines. The proof is that he had a career outside of his brothers and only came back because they needed him after Curley’s stroke.
As for Penn/Spicoli, he’s not even fit to play Larry Fine’s fiddle.

It’s OK, he’s one of those people with a glass belly-button. That way he can see where he is going and enough air leaks around the edges for him to breathe.
I’m thinking Spicoli wasn’t an act.
As far as Chavez being “warm and charming”, I’m sure he is to those who do as he wants. When I was a young green engineer, we used to have a VP where I worked that people literally walked around in fear of. When my program was moved under his authority and I went to his first all-hands briefing, I was literally expecting horns, fire, and reverberating low-toned voices. Instead, I watched a very charming, personable leader present his plans and goals. That was an epiphany for me: people don’t get to those levels of power by being absolute @$$holes 100% of the time — it’s much more diabolical than that. Where the fear came from was if you failed to live up to his objectives or needed something outside the norm that would require him to expend some credibility or silver bullets. In addition, one always had the impression that when he made the statement, “this is the best thing”, you had to add “for me” at the end of his statement. When a group of engineers staged a minor revolt over months of 60 hour weeks with no compensation, he held a meeting with them to address the problem, stating, “software engineers are a dime a dozen, I can get a raft of new graduates for half of what you are making — now get back to work”. Any decisions he made were based upon how his yearly incentive bonus would be impacted — not upon the good of the business or project: in his mind if his bonus was adversely affected, then that decision was NOT good for the program. I have a feeling that Chavez is the same way — charming on the outside, manipulative and ruthless on the inside.

Yes. It is risking your life throwing your opposition into prison cells, or ordering their torture. It’s extremely dangerous to terrorize, and commit anti semitism.
Is Penn that wasted, or just that stupid?

A 2006 State Department report on human rights documented a slew of abuses, including data implicating Chavez’s security forces in about 6,000 killings over five years.
The department’s annual Country Report on Human Rights practices released in March 2008 cited The Venezuelan Program of Action and Education in Human Rights statistic of 165 unlawful killings by Chavez security forces from October 2006 through September 2007.
The group reported that it received 11 complaints of torture and 692 complaints of cruel or degrading treatment during the same period, which was actually a decline from the year before.
“Reports of beatings and other humiliating treatment of suspects during arrests were common and involved various law enforcement agencies,” reads the 2008 State Department report. via foxnews

This is the problem with the left. They don’t care if the person’s policies are oppressive and violate human rights, or stifle the private sector. It’s how they look. It’s how charming they are. It’s how they speak. It’s their INTENTIONS. Liberalism IS a mental illness.

No question whatsoever that liberalism is a mental disorder. Sean removes all doubt that is true. His father, Leo Penn, was a Stalinist that supported Hitler until he invaded Russia. His lunacy has been bred in him since birth.

They are about to regret their decision not to have left long ago, because President Obama is working hard on making U.S. to become a ‘Third World’ country, making Afghanistan look like paradise.

In the authoritarian-dictator-loving community of Hollyweird, that’s a huge feather in your cap Spicoli. To the rest of the world, that’s beyond creepy. How many people are proud to be friends with the most loathed people of the world?
Oh. You’ll forgive his seizing of property from his people, imprisonment of political opponents, throwing of national elections, and other tasty human rights violations because he treated you well and was charming. And yet, you despise the past PotUS for doing….what again?
Yes, isn’t it obvious that Cheney isn’t a dictator that is so despised by his people that his life is endangered? I guess Chavez is brave because he faces constant threats to his life from others either trying to seize power from him or individuals that are finally fed up with Chavez’s dictatorship. We should all glorify the great bravery of Hitler (who survived several assassination attempts apparently), Stalin (and all of the other USSR leaders), Mao and every other dictator that had to **KILL** all of their family members and political opponents in order to remain in power…how noble and endearing that they are soooooo brave.
Spit on him you say? Oh, you mean that we’ve been mean enough to him…I was just thinking that you libtards have not yet had your fill of spitting on President Bush and VP Cheney (as evidenced by your above comment). Bush receives the worst vitriol from his own countrymen, but when Chavez gets unfavorable treatment because of his obvious hate for America and his treatment of his country, he’s defended by the morons in Hollyweird. What does that say about a man who visits the lands of the most vile dictators on earth, the ones that imprison and kill their own people, wipe out any political opposition, and commit the worst atrocities and supports them but constantly berates and demeans the leaders of their own country whom hand over power after their term? You sir, are the worst type of sycophant imaginable. You would be the type of person that would disregard the fact that Stalin, Mao, or Hitler had slaughtered MILLLIONS of humans because their ideology more closely matches your’s than your President’s, even though the PotUS abides by the rules of the Constitution and protects the citizens and at the end of their term, freely hands over power to the next duly elected person. I do not think that there is a word in the English language that is terrible enough to accurately describe you. Are you so loathsome that you would rather honor the worst of humanity than to side with a lawful leader with differing political views?!?
International respect?!?! Nobody respects YOU for being a weak piece of human garbage. If American lives are endangered by our chastising of Chavez, then should we be appeasers? That always works out well, “Don’t make them angry, they’ll kill more of us” … why don’t we instead kill the murderous trash that would attack us? And what the hell does this sentence even mean, “…left wounds in the hands of our children’s future…”? Our children’s future has hands…with wounds in them? WTH does that even mean?!? Moron.
That’s right, classify and separate…”us” vs. “them”. Typical tactic. Oh yeah, and they hate the principles upon which the US (I’m assuming when you say “we” that you meant the USA) were founded. You big dummy, you don’t even KNOW a Gd thing about the founding principles…otherwise you’d never even give that piece of trash Chavez (or Saddam, or Castro, et al) a moment of peace, you’d be harping on them from morning ’til night. God, what a stupid piece of work you are. Chavez embodies the US Constitution and the ideas of natural human rights while haters like Limbaugh, Hannity and Cheney are the worst? How can someone be so delusional as to have everything so bass-ackwards? Not only are you an idiot, but you’re quite insane apparently. Can you logically put together a rational argument for our founding principles (as if you had any principles, let alone an idea of what our founding principles are) based upon the actions of Chavez? Its really quite amazing to witness someone with such a perverse and skewed view on the world get a platform from which to espouse their nonsense. Its like giving credence to white supremists that are Holocaust deniers (have you visited Tehran and found Ahmadinnerjacket a warm and fuzzy guy too?) and claiming that the US is bad for stopping what the Germans were doing during WW2…really, really warped.
Really? Did you include yourself in that polling, or don’t you consider yourself an American?
I think you mean someone who is either a spineless PoS too scared to stand up to dictators and decry their awful treatment of their people or you mean that Obama is more closely in agreement with the Socialist authoritarians than he is with our form of government? I guess I was expecting Obama to stand up for America because he is our leader, but apparently America is the worst country in the world and these other leaders (Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, etc.) are to be admired and followed? Oh, that’s right, I forgot that you loony libs in Hollyweird hate everything American. We’re the worst country in the world, no one is more evil and hated than us and we conservatives in the US spend every waking moment plotting how to kill everyone else in the world who isn’t white…but, don’t pay any attention to the history and facts that prove you wrong…we wouldn’t want you to have an aneurysm when your two synapses fire by having a single thought pass through your head. Let’s all just ignore that when a dictator like Chavez comes to power, he ruins millions of peoples’ lives in his own country. Just ignore the fact that when given the opportunity that dictator will try to spread his power and the human misery to surrounding areas (hundreds of examples there Mr. Moron). Just ignore all of that because you want to keep your head buried so far up your ass that you can’t see the pain and misery that these goons spread all of the world if you give them the chance. Human history is filled with their kind, but it wasn’t until the US came along that a counter was found for their tyranny. But, you would have the rest of us ignore the tyranny and blame instead the liberty and freedom loving nation that would love to see the ruination of tyranny across the world.
You don’t have to be strong to face an evil person and smile. That’s what cowards do. It takes strength to face a terrible person and proclaim them to be terrible. Like most things in your life, you have it exactly backwards.
