New Miss USA: I’m totally pro-gay marriage
posted at 4:05 pm on April 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
Not true, actually: She supports some form of legal recognition for gay couples but punts on the marriage label, leaving us to wonder whether she also qualifies as a “dumb bitch”. Imagine what pure spun comedy gold it would have been if she opposed gay marriage, too. No doubt the inevitable semen-stain photoshop of her on Perez Hilton’s site would have been extra semen-y.
Skip ahead to 2:05. Her answer’s probably good enough to satisfy the D-list parasites who are dumping on Miss California for not telling them what they want to hear; if she’s bothered at all by the fact that she won only because the judges were biased against her competition, she’s not showing it. I actually prefer her to Miss Cali on pure aesthetics, for what it’s worth.

Well, I guess she represents Perez ‘Jabba’ Hilton’s America, 30% at best, that want gay marriage.
I think Jabba’s scores should be ousted, if you want to smoke sausage, Jabba, do it on your own time.
HornetSting on April 22, 2009 at 4:42 PM
Beats me. I thought I had read somewhere that controversial questions weren’t supposed to be asked. It doesn’t get much more controversial than that, especially for Miss California.
Maybe they just wanted the ratings boost.
Esthier on April 22, 2009 at 4:42 PM
But aren’t so many attacking Hilton for expressing his beliefs?
JetBoy on April 22, 2009 at 4:43 PM
I cringe every time I see her. All I can think is Barney Fife had a very attractive daughter -but she’s Barney all the way.

do not believe obama when he says he believes marriage is for one man and one woman. it’s a farce.

Really? Is he over 14 years of age? Emotionally that is.
Why was this clown selected to be a judge?
Geez….
Let me google/check his website, I guess.
SteveMG on April 22, 2009 at 4:43 PM
no, If Paris Hilton’s older uglier sister, Perez, hadn’t made it a big deal by ranting like a lunatic afterwards.. it wouldn’t matter.
GoodBoy on April 22, 2009 at 4:43 PM

Daemonocracy on April 22, 2009 at 4:43 PM
Nope. Most are attacking him for attacking her!
fumpbump on April 22, 2009 at 4:44 PM
As the Republic continues to burn, the Miss USA pageant (thought they did away with these a while back) commands center stage over the gay ‘marriage’ issue, which may never be resolved to the satisfaction of gays, and possibly the biggest ‘flame’ on the internet is doing live interviews on the morning shows. Each night when I lay head on pillow I think tomorrow cannot be as inane as today. Inevitably, it is.
pcpower1 on April 22, 2009 at 4:44 PM
Really, I hear more attacking his attacking her – not expressing his honest beliefs.
At any rate, I’m not attacking him for any other reason than he seems to want to be the final arbiter of social conscience. I think not.
kybowexar on April 22, 2009 at 4:45 PM
His beliefs that she is a B**** and a C***?

Classic. This guy’s boy makes it an issue, then wonders about all the fuss!

Miss USA -spine or at least half a brain need not apply.

Miss USA reminds me of several sorority “types” from college. Plastic smile, demeanor, etc. Miss California is a true FOX and most men would marry her dog to get in the family.

He’s a judge in this case, only god knows why. Isn’t his beliefs supposed to be irrelevant?
Rocks on April 22, 2009 at 4:47 PM
Perez was actually pretty good during the Britney/Federline fiasco. He documented everything pretty well; and pretty much understood that Federline was the tallest midget in that whole mess.
The site, overall, is stupid. Semen next to everyone’s mouth gets old real fast. “Is she fat?” posts gets old quick too.
I haven’t visited in a long time. The guy is obviously mentally challenged, given his writing style and everything. But who cares. No one asks him to be Shakespeare and he’s making good money at what he does.

NRA Lifer on April 22, 2009 at 4:48 PM
His beliefs that she’s a bumb b*tch? Yeah. But then, no one asked him.
I sympathize with you here, Jet, but it’s his delivery that’s the problem. If he didn’t want to know how she felt on the issue, he shouldn’t have asked. He can’t then get upset that she was honest. I don’t think her answer was great, but it’s obvious she meant no harm.
Probably, but I also doubt he’ll act any different now that he’s president. Do you?
Esthier on April 22, 2009 at 4:48 PM
Either way, she looks pretty good to me. The hub bub over gay marrage was worth the look. What a lovey.
saiga on April 22, 2009 at 4:51 PM
It’s very convenient for him to be “middle management” when it comes to his faith regarding that particular issue.
mossberg500 on April 22, 2009 at 4:51 PM
On Sunday night, I was watching the Hallmark special about the World War II Polish nurse who bravely saved 2,500 Jewish children from a group more intolerant than gays. I woke up the next morning to news reports about some foul-mouthed yahoo calling a nice young woman a b*tch and c*nt for answering his question honestly.
Your boy opened Pandora’s box. We’re attacking his conduct and his intolerance.

Miss CA is prettier because she hotter and has a backbone.

Of course she’s pro-gay marriage.
It’s too easy to sell your dignity to the highest bidder for the sake of popularity, fame and fortune nowadays. It is almost universally derided when people actually call a spade a spade.
Don’t be surprised if Miss CA and her family are harassed, intimidated, and even given death threats by the “tolerant people”.

I’m not sure which image I am enjoying more: Miss USA and Miss California battling this out in a no holds barred hot oil match up, or Miss USA and her “wife” demonstrating the beauty of gay marriage up close and personal with me.
You will notice I am treating the issue of the political views of Miss USA contestants with all the dignity and respect to which I think they are entitled.

Huh…three days to practice it, and she still effs it up. I’m stuck on the sad irony that Miss America was chosen by a bunch of homosexuals and their fans. Remarkable.
Hopefully this will hasten the demise of this pathetic dog and pony show.

Miss. NC, you didn’t win diddle squat. Fact is, your win is tainted, tarnished and stained with homosexual semen…In reality, you, like Perez Hilton, are a loser.
byteshredder on April 22, 2009 at 5:49 PM
That’s pretty harsh and frankly smacks of intolerance the way you phrased it. Maybe for some, the issue is more about protecting the sanctity of marriage and not wanting to re-define the term. Otherwise, GLBT’s have the right to live their life the way they see fit. I hope Miss USA is right and Miss California does get to wear the crown, Go Baby Go.

Dalton did NOT say that she believes gay unions should be recognized as marriage, only as legal unions. Her point of “CHOICE” is exactly the premise Miss CA already stated, that in our country everyone has the choice to live as they will with whom they will. Dalton lacked the integrity to say that Miss CA is a person whose choice is not to be held against her.

Hilton’s comment about the judge panel being diverse reveals what’s really going on here: they needed a homosexual to fill the quota and he was the most representative sample they could find.
Sad, huh?
I’d also like to ask Perez Hilton if a mother has a “right” to marry her son, since she is committed to him for life. If she married him, would she then also have a “right” to have sex with him? Why is there a state interest in what kind of relationship anybody has with anybody else? Why does the state single out the relationship called “marriage”? Couldn’t they just have a category BFF and whoever was your BFF could inherit what’s in your will, visit you on your deathbed, and use your insurance policy?

Here’s my question for all the left wingers who think that religious “Christianists” are every bit as dangerous as the Islamic fundamentalists that these same left wingers are always making excuses and apologies for…..
Why would a religious Christian participate in a beauty contest where she has to wear a bikini? Shouldn’t her parents have her locked in the basement with a chastity belt? Don’t religious Christians want to send us back to the Victorian age?
Could it possibly be that religious Christians just want to see some sort of reasonable balance between women in burqas and “2 hours of all anal action”? If so, then maybe that explains why rock ‘n roll was invented in, of all places, THE BIBLE BELT! And some of it’s most important pioneers came from very religious backgrounds. So tell me, who’s the Islamic fundamentalist equivalent to Jerry Lee Lewis?
ardenenoch on April 22, 2009 at 6:31 PM
Sad to see the same people who, rightly, defended Miss California for expressing her point of view attack Miss USA for hers.
Does that make you better than Perez Hilton, or the same?
sandman on April 22, 2009 at 6:32 PM
Regardless of her opinion, her response really isn’t very smart. Again, this has nothing to do with her opinion, but the way it is phrased. For example:
Well, some can choose one or the other, depending on what state they live in. Does she think it’s great that others aren’t able to based on their state residency?
Talk about a weak statement. I think I believe? What does that mean?
Again, you would have to be stupid not to understand that this statement is offensive. Any time you say “No Offense, But”, rest assured you are about to offend someone, and you know it beforehand, and you go ahead with it anyway.
The gay marriage debate isn’t going to be resolved with answers like this. Any argument that starts from your personal experience and extends to someone else’s relationship will never gain traction, just as someone else rejecting your relationship as wrong would be discarded and ignored by you.
maleman on April 22, 2009 at 6:57 PM
I’m sorry if it sounds “intolerant” to you, but too many people have already sold their souls to the devil for a piece of today’s fame and fortune. If you believe this or that, you’re part of the in-crowd. Otherwise, you are a pariah.
This girl probably thought the same way as the other girl – before college, perhaps. She KNOWS, as well as everyone else, that you have to be P.C. nowadays to become a notable “somebody.” If you want to win the hearts and minds of the elites, you must talk, think, and act as they do. She’s just playing the game with the best of them.
Miss CA refused to do so, and for that, she’s now “unacceptable” in today’s fashionable and elite society. But she has a better future ahead of her, and a much better Hope to rely on – and a better and higher “fashion contest” to pass. She will not change that for the love of the world.
Miss CA is now a pariah, a “b____” in Hilton’s parlance. Guess what? So am I. I’d rather be outside the camp than inside “the club.”
If that makes me “intolerant”, I’ll accept that as my fate.
newton on April 22, 2009 at 7:45 PM
It’s really too bad that Ms. USA didn’t back Miss California with an answer guaranteed to irritate Mr. “teabagger” Hilton.
Since all Ms. USA contestants must now support gay marriage as a political litmus test, I could care less about the contest.

Tell me then, Miss
Gay DhimmiUSA, if Muslims instead of Gays had been in control of the judging would you be for sharia, burkas, child brides and “honor” killings? If Nazis, the other brand of fascists from the gay brand of fascists, would you have been in favor of gas chambers and ovens? My strong guess would be yes, on both.

I am so hoping for a scandal to break out so the current Miss American would have to pass her crown down to the runner up,
Miss California.
DaveC on April 23, 2009 at 1:16 AM
Obviously, Obama and many other politicians opposition to gay marriage is rather marginal, and will change to support when the polling supports gay marriage in a decade or less. This is the good part of following the polls. They are simply representing the will of the majority on an issue which the will of the majority is changing. Let’s trust the American people on this one.
The issues which politicians need to stick to principles are economic and foreign policy: economic because we shouldn’t dilute free enterpise on a whim or a bailout and foreign policy because need to stand up to the bullies and the thugs or we’ll get our asses kicked.
thuja on April 23, 2009 at 7:10 AM
So Obama lies about his real position on gay marriage to maintain political advantage. Miss CA tells the truth about her position even though it costs her the crown. And probably 50% of this country has more respect for HIM than for HER. Being PC about gay marriage is held as a higher virtue than honesty and personal integrity. What a sad state we are in as a culture.

Wondering if this younger generation, particularly the women, could make conversation without the word ‘totally’.

That woman has an ego the size of Texas. I’m going to win…I love blue…it looks so great on me…Tune in and watch me win…*sheesh* Good thing modesty isn’t judged. I can’t stand false modesty, but really…
Yes, and like. Ughh… My husband and I are constantly telling our children to stop saying ‘like’. They are pretty good compared to their friends, but it is easy to slip into the ‘like’ mode, because it is lazy. I drove for a 5th grade field trip a couple weeks ago and I wished I’d had ear plugs. I could hardly stand the conversation.
kid 1: “And I was like, he’s like an awesome rapper but not a cool dude, and she was like yeah you know, like it isn’t cool to hit a girl…”
kid 2: “Yeah, totally not cool.”
kid 3: “Oh, I know. He’s like totally a jerk.”
*sigh* And they don’t even live in the valley. They are not stupid children, but they really can sound it. Of course, some of the parents and even teachers are pretty bad.
