Hillary: I don’t consider Cheney a reliable source on “torture”
posted at 4:47 pm on April 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
Why would she? Cheney claims that enhanced interrogation works when all right-thinking people know that it doesn’t, except of course for Obama’s own intelligence chief. Ed has been all over the Dennis Blair story today but let me add my two cents in calling it a nuclear bombshell in how it incinerates the left’s bad-faith “torture” calculus — or rather, non-calculus. They’re unwilling to concede that there’s any moral choice to be made here because, when push comes to shove, they’re unwilling to say flatly that they’d risk American lives so that Abu Zubaydah doesn’t have to spend time in a box with a caterpillar or whatever. That’s why the Times buried the Blair story today and that’s why Hillary’s lip service about getting everything out in the open, in reply to a question about Cheney claiming that abuses were corrected, is so stunningly disingenuous. The very last thing The One wants is getting everything out in the open about how waterboarding or belly slaps prevented attacks because that means an honest debate on the subject, which in turn leaves him caught between the nutroots and a whole lot of swing voters. The beauty of the Blair story is that, for the very first time, they’ve got someone saying torture works whom they can’t dismiss as “unreliable.” Like I say, nuclear bombshell.
Update: And if you think this is some sort of academic debate, have a look at this. The stakes of extracting vital info in a ticking-bomb scenario are getting higher by the minute.

An hour away from nukes? What could go wrong?
Hopefully Obama will stop pussyfooting around on his unicorn tours and start taking the situation in Pakistan seriously. This is a red alert, the stuff 3am phone calls are made of.

Eric Holder spoke out on the interrogation of unlawful combatants in 2002.
“One of the things we clearly want to do with these prisoners is to have an ability to interrogate them and find out what their future plans might be, where other cells are located; under the Geneva Convention that you are really limited in the amount of information that you can elicit from people.
“It seems to me that given the way in which they have conducted themselves, however, that they are not, in fact, people entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. They are not prisoners of war. If, for instance, Mohamed Atta had survived the attack on the World Trade Center, would we now be calling him a prisoner of war? I think not. Should Zacarias Moussaoui be called a prisoner of war? Again, I think not.”

Now Hillary and Obama can’t answer direct questions concerning their cut-and-paste memo release of “enhanced interrogations”.

Because Cheney called their bluff and has made the “smart ones” look like a bunch of fools.
Hillary needs to tell jokes to deflect from the total joke that the Obama administration has become.
Just release all the memos and the total conversations of democrats being briefed on these policies where they agreed with them 100%.
liberals need to quit being afraid of the truth.
Total discloser and transparency.

Hillary would be the expert on inducing torture on American citizens. She was bffe with Janet Reno and encouraged first the torture of all the inhabitants not only in the Branch Davidian compound but the entire Mt. Carmel surroundings, neighbors included. The FBI and ATF were bombasting horrible electronic noises 24/7 during the entire confrontation. The Feds drove themselves into their own murder frenzy using Clinton sanctioned torture techniques. They tormented little children and refused the Branch Davidians’ repeated request to surrender to the Texas Rangers before incinerating them all. The surrounding community was traumatized not only by the fire and murder of the Davidians, but traumatized by the entire exposure to Clinton Federal torture of American citizens.

With all the statements she made about this POTUS during the campaign, she should never have accepted the job. Amazing how she can swallow all of this crap just to get the lime light. Shows how all politicians will say anything people want to hear and mean none of it. These people have no fundamental values/principles. That’s why all their answers have to be written for them. The only way they have of trying to keep up with the last lie they told.

The audacity of these people. Everyone of them has done something, that has never been brought into the light, of the law. Remember Hillary ordering IRS audits? I do believe that was illegal.
When the time comes, and it will. Obama will have to answer to the citizens of this country. Why? Why were the lives, and comforts of terrorists, of more importance, than the lives of Americans killed at their hands?

Well now, let me see. Tell me Hillary, do you consider the person who said the following to be a reliable source?
In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.
Well, Hillary, yes or no, what say you?

William Safire called Hillary “a congenital liar”.
And that was before she endured the Tuzla gunfire.

Safire is correct.

Getalife, Hillary is like you she was unable to answer questions and that adds up to nothing. Would you give up your city for getting rid of waterboarding? Its not a difficult question and if the Taliban takes control of Pakistan and what would you think they would do with those nukes? I am sure if the USA goes all moral that would impress the taliban terrorists in not attacking. Do you actually belive this?

Somehow this administration managed to yet again fall into the intersection while trying to push the old administration off the curb.
This is not a Church Committee in the making. Obama and the gang are making another huge miscalculation that will leave them on the defensive.

This is off subject, but I’m just watching the CSPAN replay of SOS Clinton’s appearance before this subcommittee.
After hearing so many Democratic representatives (Ron Paul did too) praising Ms. Clinton and Pres. Obama’s willing to listen and hear the opinions of everyone at the Summit of the Americas (inferring Chavez and Ortega) I began to wonder.
If Barack and the Democrats are so willing to listen to dictators that truly represent the elite few in their respective countries, why does he refuse to listen and hear the 46% of the American citizens didn’t vote for him and disagree with his policies?
Yes, I anticipate the childish “he won” response from the Libtards.

The only future attack on the U.S. we gained knowledge of through waterboarding KSM was one on the The Library Tower in L.A., part of what he called “The Second Wave”. However, Bush’s White House verified that this attack had been thwarted long before KSM’s capture. So where’s the justification for torture again?
Go read those two transcripts…
Conservatives, isn’t it pathetic that you find yourselves defending to the death the virtue in torturing people? Is there not a pause in your conscience to think that maybe as a country it’s good we are having this debate? No, better to write everyone who has the slightest bit of apprehension regarding matters like these as weak kneed traitors and terrorist sympathizers…
