On the other hand, the fact that you are in church means you will hear the message and who knows, miracles do happen.

MarkTheGreat on April 21, 2009 at 4:53 PM

Yes. The miracle you speak of is God removing a cold heart of stone and enmity with GOd and replacing it with a heart of flesh and love of God.

Wrong
Where do christian girls hang out ? Church
Go forth and be fruitful and multiply or something

To enjoy the music
Obviously you have never been to a Church of Christ. The congregation sings(no choir). Nobody enjoys listening to it trust me on this one.

You can go to meet christian girls but your soul can still be lost for eternity.

...Why are those bad reasons?

They are bad reasons because you can go for those reasons and still be lost and go to hell.

Can’t church still help?

Of course you can but that is irrelevent.

You can go to a restaurant to go to the bathroom, but you wont get fed.
You can go to JiffyLube to meet your friend, but your car won't get maintenance.
You can go to the hospital to watch people, but you won't get well.

My point: is what is the purpose of church? Look at the examples in scripture.

It's for hearing the word of God.
It's for conviction of sin and the need of a savior.
It's for fellowship with fellow believers in Christ to share in God's mercy and grace.

All those people Jesus healed were there to be healed physically and had no idea what they were in for after being touched. God can use anything. There’s no reason to act as though he can’t.

Esthier on April 21, 2009 at 4:53 PM

I never suggested that he can't. God is sovereign. He uses foolishness to comfound the wise. But many of those healed people are likely to be lost. God healed them to demonstrate his power.

I find it rather odd that her real name (Carrie Prejean) is barely used in this (5 pages so far) thread...not at all on the first page (including the original post ALLAH), and like a single mention on the 2nd page, and hardly any after that. I'm not sure what that means, and maybe I should have already known her name by now (I didn't), but that's not gonna bode well for this discussion being found in search engines down the road.

If this is her 15 minutes, you should at least mention her, er, I mean Carrie Prejean's name for doing the right thing. The lady deserves some respect, IMO.

Yeah. I guess if you had just asked if I were serious without the lecture...

If you think she is immoral for walking around in a bikini, fine that is your opinion. But you also better recognize your own illicit thoughts as sinful when seeing her in that bikini. You were obviously experiencing some lust which made you uncomfortable.

...it wouldn't have hit me the wrong way.

I am not judging Miss California, she seems like a righteous woman.

I on the other hand have no problem judging her. The fact of the matter is is that, as Christian, she shouldn't be competing in a competition which requires her to where clear-cut immodest "clothing." The men who lust after her will be held to account, but so will she, for dressing so provocatively.

Dude, did you even read that whole comment. What you cut and pasted is what the troll was asserting. Read the thread.

If you’re too tired to do that.

No, I don’t think she was being. But I was seriously saying that’s what one of the newer thread trolls was saying.

Thanks for answering my question.

Geez read the whole thread before you embarrass yourself.

Hint: Don't read one comment and then...

…use our own Bible teaching against us. Or try.

She wore a bikini and is immodest and therefore immoral and therefore no better than Perez. There’s a reasonable understanding that one extreme is gratuitous nudity and the other is a burka. Neither is all that moral in my book to begin with.

I have not been following this discussion, but are you being serious? You do realize Mary Magdalene as well as many of Jesus' followers were in fact prostitutes and burlesque performers? You also realize that Adam and Eve ran around naked?

If you think she is immoral for walking around in a bikini, fine that is your opinion. But you also better recognize your own illicit thoughts as sinful when seeing her in that bikini. You were obviously experiencing some lust which made you uncomfortable.

I like how the left wants the right to keep politics out of anything we do. While they are free to interject...No...impose their polotics on everyone who does not agree with them. Hmm, I think there is a term for that. Can't think of it right now as I am a conservative and not allowed to have thoughts.

I've looked at your art before. You're very good. I wish there were a way to post some pictures of my figurines.

Sounds interesting also. Do you sell your work?

Yes, but nearly as often as I’d like!
