Quote of the day

posted at 10:35 pm on April 20, 2009 by Allahpundit

“Here’s the thing; everything Janeane said is what people on the left already think. They have been saying it right to your face, in creative ways, for years. Remember when the candidate Obama repeatedly spoke about his being a long shot for the election because ‘he has a funny name’ or because he ‘doesn’t look like those other presidents on our money,’ what do you think he was saying? He was saying that a large portion of our country is racist. He was talking about you. He was trying to shut his critics up even before they started. And it worked. Almost no one called him on it.

So don’t get upset when someone says it out loud. You should be glad someone finally said it-now you can answer the charge. You don’t want to have to answer the charge? Why not? It’s out there.”

As a black man, I love it when ignorant white women like Janeane Garofalo speak for all blacks. It’s thrilling to me that Janeane would take time out of her busy Hollyweird life to protect me and my peeps — the downtrodden, the oppressed…the lowly Negro.

For her efforts, I thank Garofalo, and anoint her Janeane Garofalo: White Chick Protector of the Lowly Negro.

That quote is from: http://theblacksphere.blogspot.com/2009/04/racist-garofalo-to-rescue.html

Speaking tactfully is not something we should expect of demand from entertainers–in fact, we should encourage just the opposite.

How about encouraging them to shut the flock up instead of opining at all.

I used to think that white-on-black racism in modern America was mostly a figment of the Left’s imagination. Then I took a business trip to Mississippi. Amazingly, the guilty parties didn’t even know it. It could almost have passed for “tone-deafness,” but there was more to it than that–lots of “those people” and “know their place” and whathaveyou.

Racism is a terrible, awful thing, and until the Right starts to stamp it out from within their own ranks, the Left will continue to wield it as a very effective cudgel.

We’re supposed to like Barfalalo because she’s up front? Or something?

Look – if you want us to say that Barfalalo is LESS dangerous to us than Obama is – I don’t think you’ll get an argument.

However – that is NOT an argument to make Barfalalo a “patriot”. We’re supposed to “answer the charge” that Barfalalo hurls at us – but we are supposed to lay off her personally?

Nay Nay Sweet Toad.

Because – I not only have a beef with what Barfalalo is saying – I have a beef with how she’s saying it – and how hateful she’s saying it.

If the right did this, in some sense they would fail to be neo-liberal. Individuals must choose how to live their lives. Sure, the GOP and other right leaning groups can place sanctions on groups that hold vile views, but conservatives should not start a “campaign against racism.” People should be free to remain ignorant.

This woman said what she thought, and she had every right to say it. I will support her rights to free speech. However, to ask so many people to back off, look the other way, when a generalization was made. A mass offense against anyone that joined in the tea parties, as racist, and tea bagging red necks? I think not!

Now she’s probably being bombarded with emails, from those offended by her comments.

Here’s the lesson. She was asked to come on for her opinion…and she gave it. But perhaps next time, she’ll choose her words more carefully. Doubtful, but let’s be honest. She’s racist against those who disagree with her sentiments…and now she’s paying the piper.

I’ve always believed, if you put yourself out there, in the public eye, whether it’s political, for your 15 minutes of glory, or entertainment wise, be prepared. Fame has it’s costs.

That’s a joke right? There was plent of racism going on during the run up to the General Election. The problem you seem to ignore, it all happened in the Democratic Primaries. Hate filled, demeaning, and immature racism from nearly all of Obama’s Democratic opponents, and particulary from Obama himself.

Sure the GOP has racist in it. But we didn’t give ours a microphone.

I also don’t need to answer to morons like her as it accomplishes nothing, we too often take their bait and legitimize their idiocy in the process. If President Obama had projected $300 to $400 billion deficits like Bush, we’d be angrier than we were with Bush (partisan politics, after all) but these tea parties would be 1/10th as large. No, 1/50th.

We’re talking about trillion dollar deficits for years and that will be devastating to our economy.

For some reason, our liberal friends can’t see this.

But let’s flip this around if we’re finger pointing: all of the liberals who complained about Bush’s deficits? Why aren’t you complaining about the Obama deficits which are three times larger?

That would be 3%(+/-) so that actual number could be even higher. 54% of mainstream dems still puts you at 51% with the minus.

Regardless, even if you take the lower number, it is still perilously close to break even, and for a POTUS who hasn’t served even six months in office, a troubling sign.

Now I’m not a big poll watcher anyway, but your boy is and you know damm well he is sweating bullets right about now. You are too, no matter how much you try and write-off the parties as insignificant.

This is exactly how that CNN reporter chickie felt about the tax protesters and it is a basic assumption that forms the foundation of how many lefties understand our every opinion and statement.

Bishop on April 20, 2009 at 11:10 PM

I don’t think they are about taxes and deficits either.
Or the teabaggers would have been ragging on GW.
The teaparties are anti-Obama.
Sore loozers, is all.

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 10:46 PM

Let’s say George Bush was your landlord or the bank holding your mortgage. You’d agreed on a price for the rent/mortgage every month. Then, Bush sold the house/mortgage note to Obama, who then came in and doubled your monthly payment. Are you going to tell me you’d just sit there and take it?

This whole line about “why weren’t you protesting Bush’s deficits” is asinine for that very reason.

In addition, even if there were some amount of leeway granted to Bush that wasn’t granted to Obama, that’s hardly a one-way street that only the GOP has traveled on. In just the first few months, Obama’s been given passes on things that Bush never would have been.

Finally, the pace at which Obama has been racking up debt had undoubtedly awoken a sense of political awareness in some heretofore apolitical people. Given that the guy is on TV every five minutes touting some trillion-dollar spending plan he’s trying to pass, I would dare say that more than a few people said “Now WTF is this all about?”, did a little digging and decided they didn’t really approve of the whole approach and decided to get involved. Hell, I went to a Tea Party and I never go to anything like that, so I know that there were others coming off the sidelines and into the game, so to speak.

But, if you want to persist in your superficial “sore loozers” analysis, go right ahead. The dog barks and the caravan moves on.

Im not a guy and AllahP knows me from when I was a republican.
I had a John Cole conversion to sanity.

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:09 PM

So you are the one trying to convert him by sending all the Meghan news?

You mean you had a horrible brain damaging accident?

blatantblue on April 20, 2009 at 11:13 PM

I had a John Cole conversion to sanity.

You’ll be back.

And hey, that Cole crowd is a charming group.

SteveMG on April 20, 2009 at 11:14 PM

I don’t think the teaparties are particularily racist, altho there are racists in the GOP. Sore strangelet loozer on April 20, 2009 at 10:46 PM

Hey, soreloserman-type not everyone is a Ku Klux Klanner like West Virginia’s Democrat Sen. Byrd

Jeannie – you are not the only one who “hates” ya :p

Branch Rickey on April 20, 2009 at 11:14 PM

You’ll be back.

SteveMG on April 20, 2009 at 11:14 PM

The left can claim her and keep her.

Upstater85 on April 20, 2009 at 11:14 PM

Yeah racists.

getalife on April 20, 2009 at 11:15 PM

I don’t think they are about taxes and deficits either.
Or the teabaggers would have been ragging on GW.
The teaparties are anti-Obama.
Sore loozers, is all.

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 10:46 PM

Nope it’s against the added trillions that Obama has added.
And the tea party bashers are the losers…..ultimately
Obama voters are the biggest losers of them all…

The will be of the same ilk of supporters of Stalin and Mao
when all is said and done…

The GOP supports Israel far more than the Dems

Jamson64 on April 20, 2009 at 11:08 PM

The why do Jews uniformly vote democratic?

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:16 PM

getalife on April 20, 2009 at 11:15 PM

Libs/racist….no difference…

dec5 on April 20, 2009 at 11:17 PM

I see what you mean. Just because Duke founded the Louisiana chapter of the Knights of the KKK in 1974 (just before his first try at getting elected as a demorat), and just because Kleagle Byrd has been reelected to the senate continually since 1952 doesn’t mean anything.

Bishop on April 20, 2009 at 11:10 PM

Now, Bishop, I appreciate your points; however, there are other RACISTS in the Democratic party (and for that matter their lineage…)

Upstater85 on April 20, 2009 at 11:19 PM

backwoods retard.
strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Don’t be a H8er, strange-o, and why do marxist-infanticide freaks have to impugn “retarded” people and “special olympians,” why not just spread the wealth loooooove?

The why do Jews uniformly vote democratic?
strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:16 PM

Because they have a desire to be seen as a enlightened and compassionate people. Bubba Clinton “felt their pain”. The Democratic Paty has suckered them into believing it. The influence of secular progressives has weakened the American Jews’ support of Israel. They are losing their heritage.

The why do Jews uniformly vote democratic?
strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:16 PM

Because they don’t have rockets raining down on their neighborhoods?

Bishop on April 20, 2009 at 11:22 PM

Why is it,at every oppurtunity,and microphone,idiot
Liberals have to tell the world, that there is still
racism!

Its like a Liberal echo-chamber,carried along through
the Marxist Socilaist Media airwaves, and reverberates
right back into said Lefty racist ears,in a neverending
and perpetual loop!!

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:16 PM

About 3/4 of Jews vote Dem, but the more intelligent Jews vote Republican.

Who’s more intelligent, someone like Netanyahu or Barbara Boxer?

strangelet on April 20, 2009 at 11:16 PM

How did Obama end up as our president?

(Hint …. answer is same for both questions)

fogw on April 20, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Then I took a business trip to Mississippi. Amazingly, the guilty parties didn’t even know it. It could almost have passed for “tone-deafness,” but there was more to it than that–lots of “those people” and “know their place” and whathaveyou.

And you know these people’s party affiliation, how ??

Speaking of racism, obama’s bff Louis Farrakhan is a Democrat; obama’s bff rev Jremiah is a democrat, obama’s bff Sharpton is a Democrat. Racist – all three. These are not people who are ridiculed and ostracized (like Duke) , these are thought leaders of the Democratic party, leaders of the “million man marches” and members of the US congress – from the Democrat side.

runner on April 20, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Racism is a terrible, awful thing, and until the Right starts to stamp it out from within their own ranks, the Left will continue to wield it as a very effective cudgel.

I’ll take that suggestion seriously when the Democrats bar Robert Byrd from the Senate chamber and give the black children of DC their school vouchers back. Until then, it all just sounds like projection and red herrings to me.
