…the public might want to hear conservative leadership ask the “Big Questions”, but where are they? Mr. Limbaugh is a spokesman par excellence, but he’s more an icon/target than a leader. Where are the supposedly conservative pols to stand on their hind legs like adult carbon-based units and speak up, sounding like the supposed conservatives they are?

…and, I mean conservative here, in lower-case (not a faction of a party, but an idea, fully formed) and without qualifiers. If they want to be “compassionate” and give away the entitlement store, they can do it on their own dime.

…as to Obama vis a vis Chavez, it was a case of Greek-meeting-Greek, I think. They’re both confiscatory, cult-of-personality socialists such that you couldn’t get a cigarette paper between ‘em.

I’m waiting for some Miss-California-style politically incorrect scribbler to stand up in a presser and ask Comrade Obama, now that he’s “liberalizing” relations with Cuba what his opinion is on Cuba’s social system, health care system, and of Castro personally or as a historic figure (“liberalizing” used in the sense of “giving liberals a Christmas present by mainstreaming their hero”). Then, if this mythical reporter to stand up and one-two him with an approximation of “Why do you think that Cuba is so damned poor?”, and see if he blames the embargo.

…and, so long as we’re dreaming, imagine that he’s asked this right after a short in the wiring of his teleprompter….
