Geraldo is now saying this comment by Perry undermines the entire tea party effort. He has Huckabee on his show on Fox tonite. Hucakbee is telling him those dots don’t connect. Too funny that 2 NON Texans are talking about Perry’s political future in Texas.

Most of the 10th amendment “secession” bills just call for a letter to be delivered to the President… and that’s it. Wow.

I’ll be going to my district and state GOP convention and will support the bill, but I’m not expecting anything more than empty rhetoric to come from it even if it passes.

In truth, I am quite tired of Pancho Villa Junior. He’s got a bad case of hoof in mouth disease. The mere fact that Pancho brings this up proves to me he gets his information second-hand. Perry never mentioned secession and if Junior had actually watched the tape before he opened his big fat yap, he might not be looking like such a complete idiot. I think Perry should threaten Obama with dividing into five states and having ten Senators come to Washington DC. That could be fun. Or imagine what might happen if Texas seceeded? Obama might order an attack by the military and they might refuse! Then what? More secessions by other states? Federal government powerless to stop it? The Feds get taken down a few notches? States once again have the power they were granted by the Constitution? Its interesting to think about.

Anyway, how many other states can fly their colors at the same height as Old Glory? Check the details of the contract before you pass judgement on Texas.

If I saw Geraldo I would ask him what he really found in Al Capones vault! And, if Texas seceded I would move there in a hearbeat (if I could get a Visa that is). Living in CA is a real drag (no pun intended), especially if you are straight, married, and a taxpayer. Maybe I should be proactive and move there now. Get across the TX border before the barriers go up. Hopefully Prop 1A will fail and I can make it to retirement then TX here I come (with or without this CA born wife of mine).

Gawd I miss Texas. I had the privilege to live there twice (78 to 82 and again 2003 to 2006). Wonderful times. First time in Fort Worth, second time in Austin, out in Canyon Country. I love how Texans think and act. I love the old fashioned gentlemenly chivalry that exists there. I also appreciate how pretty the gals make themselves up to be when they are out in public. In CA, the women all look like plastic barbie dolls. In Texas, the same level of beauty is actually real beauty. Hard to explain, you have to live there to know what I am talking about. The cowboy hats, the boots, and the DON’T TREAD ON ME!!! mentality that permeates the air there. Love the state. I would love to move back some day.

My closest friend when I lived there is very well connected in the Republican party. Her husband served in Bush’s state cabinet and was almost picked for a very important position in DC. She and her husband have dinner frequently with the Perry’s even now. However, I never had the privilege to meet either of them while I lived there. It would have been really fun (she went to the Bush wedding, Jenna was really close to her kids).

Good times, good memories. While property taxes are somewhat higher than CA and MI, other states I have lived in recently, the no income tax is great.

One other really great thing about Texas is how the state legislature only has an official session every other year. The rest of the time they GO HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Every state needs to adopt that system. If something comes up, the governor calls them back for a short session to address whatever and then they GO HOME AGAIN!!!!!! Wish Congress would just be in session a few days every other year. We would be so much better off.

I’m all for secession, heck I’ve even considered declaring my property a sovereign nation if this BS in Washington keeps going the way it has. As for the Stache…all I can say is after spewing his crap about impeaching Perry (and I’m not overly fond of Perry) let Geraldo lead the charge down here to do it. Just like the fools who keep calling for charges to be brought against Bush, they are more than welcome to come down HERE AND TRY TO ARREST either Perry or Bush, and they may pull it off…after I run out of ammunition.

They better think, because we meant that little ad campaign a few years ago…Don’t Mess With Texas. We might decide to turn off the electricity to over 1/3 of the rest of the country.

Us Texans ~~think~~ know we’re King $h!7, but so do New Yorkers, and people from Philly, etc. So its why we say and believe the stuff that Rick Perry said.

I obviously would vote against secession, America and Texas really do go together like Brisket and Barbecue sauce. Although secession might actually help us secure our own border.

Yes, great point. Here is my suggestion, on the next ballot Texans should have a choice, either:

A) Texas succeeds from the Union, or

B) Texas bars Geraldo from ever stepping foot in their state again.

Either way, it’s a win-win.
