Audio: Glenn Beck responds to Rick Sanchez blaming Fox for Pittsburgh cop-killings

posted at 7:10 pm on April 17, 2009 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

I listened to this a few days ago, forgot about it, then remembered it again after Sanchez posted something this afternoon on Twitter about MM supposedly having called him an idiot. She hadn’t — or at least, not recently. Turns out one of her commenters had and somehow a Google News alert picked it up; true to CNN form, he didn’t bother checking with her before making the accusation. (He later apologized, then in response to another comment more or less called her a hater.) If you missed his casual smear last week that Fox News “no doubt” influenced the Jew-hating nut who shot those cops in Pittsburgh, watch that before listening to this. Beck himself doesn’t do much talking: It’s mostly one of his staffers, aghast at the irony of being blamed for people’s deaths by a guy who actually has killed someone.

Proving once again – people in glass houses should NOT throw stones. Sanchez should resign his job. But then again CNN will be history soon anyway so he won’t have to resign.

Joke Cafferty also pled guilty to hit and run driving in NYC in the early 2000s. He hit a bicycle messenger and dragged the bike several blocks, running a couple red lights. Cafferty has been an alcoholic much of his adult life. I don’t know if Cafferty was drinking prior to the hit and run.

Like Sanchez Cafferty got off with a slap on the wrist.

It appears lately that the only way the the loony left can get ratings is to link themselves… in some way …to reeeeally successful conservative radio and TV personalities.

I

s this movie guy Jones an anti-semite? I thought it was a movie talking about Obama. What does that have to do with Jewish people. The accusations are flying fast and furious.

petunia on April 17, 2009 at 8:02 PM

Alex Jones has a website that Poplawski is documented as frequenting.
It is called Info Wars and is dedicated to revealing the vast Jewish conspiracy to control the planet.
Kinda like Stormfront for middleaged white guyz instead of skinheads.
The investigators believe that Poplawski came to believe that Obama was coming to take his guns from reading information posted at that site.

strangelet on April 17, 2009 at 8:09 PM

Well…..Beck and Rush are both pimping advertising Alex Jones’ movie on their sites.
And Poplawski was a big Alex Jones fan.

strangelet on April 17, 2009 at 7:18 PM

Does anyone actually have a screen cap of this or something, or are we just trusting Charles Johnson?

Secondly, are they truly “advertising” or is the ad one of many being served up by third party. For example, both Yahoo! and Google allow you to place their ads on your site to earn revenue, and the ads served up are based on content of the page.

http://www.stoptheaclu.com/archives/2009/04/16/video-glenn-beck-vs-charles-johnson/

On the video starting around 7:00. I am curious, the picture he was holding of the unknown guy, was that Charles Johnson? I couldn’t get a good look at it.

He pretty much shows Charles Johnson was too quick to attack him, and laughs at him for being so quick to attack other Conservatives. Johnson and his little cult really have gone nuts and are excluding everyone from their shrinking inner circle. Remember, they even think Michelle Malkin is too extreme. All they do is obsess about creationism or scour the internet for any mention of Charles Johnson so they can attack it within sanctity of their own blog.

oh and the guy who posted this video on this particular site…was blocked from Charles’ site. Par for the course really.

Exit question: Why would Charles Johnson do an interview with Tina Brown’s The Daily Beast, attacking people who are on his side, if he wasn’t an attention whore?

Daemonocracy on April 17, 2009 at 8:11 PM

Rick Sanchez is too dumb to be an idiot.

He’s more like a…………………………..liberal.

omnipotent on April 17, 2009 at 8:11 PM

LGF is a laughing stock of a blog, by the way. I’ve got more experience being a scientist than Charles does, and I think his whole attitude towards Creationism and science is laughable. Yes, I think Creationism is a complete crock of crap, but Charles’ “IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME THEN YOU MUST HATE SCIENCE” approach is as anti-intellectual as it is ironic. Not to mention how his stance on candidates who support Creationism is so utterly impractical that it hurts me to see it expressed in public. He’s so dogmatic that he doesn’t even realize that the majority of the voting public is on the Creationist side of the issue (alas.)

When I read LGF, I read the dogmatic, heavy-handed words of someone who originally founded the blog to oppose just that. He’s simply a dogmatist of a different stroke.

I read LGF for 4 years and even commented, but Charles is searching for his self. With all the good fortune he has had with his music and web site, something happened that he blames on G-D. I can’t understand why he picks fights with people that are supposed to be on our side. He bans people when they object to his screed. Well it’s his site and he can run it anyway he likes, but some of his most loyal people were banned and the G-D less are promoted. To call Beck a punk (someone that he used to agree with) is not even a manly thing to do. He will read this and you can make book he will have something to say. Sanches is a typical liberal, one that gets away with murder ala O.J. and can’t seem to keep his mouth shut with accusations on others.

Rush and Glenn Beck Advertising Alex Jones
MOONBATS | Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 10:30:08 am PDT

Currently being advertised on both the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck radio shows: The Obama Deception, an Alex Jones film that rehashes every insane conspiracy theory about Barack Obama.

The Ron Paul kooks are excited about their increasing legitimization.

Pardon, Petunia, FOX and Beck are taking advertising dollars from Alex Jones.

Those are all Charles’ links. Not mine.
No actual skin off my nose……but i COULD tweet Sanchez and tell him to check out who Beck is advertising on his show.

Cindy Munford on April 17, 2009 at 8:20 PM

I heard this on the radio. The show actually goes on beyond the embedded clip to say that Rick Sanchez “left” the scene, had a few beers to “calm his nerves”, got his license and registration and came back to the scene. So he drove drunk twice, once to get home, and had more alcohol, and drove back to the scene of the accident!

Or it might have been a mortgage give away… And another promoting Obama’s energy plan… cute little lie about the planet being in a frying pan and all we have to do is use alternative energy…

So since President Obama advertises on Fox and specifically on the Glen Beck show does that show Beck is endorsing Obama and his plans?

Or maybe if that anti-Semite guy advertises on Glen Beck’s radio station and Obama advertises on Glen Beck too….

Obama must endorse Alex Jones! Yes! That must be right!

So it’s Obama’s fault that they guy shot up his neighbors!

Why don’t we all stop trying to make everyone responsible for everyone else’s sins, shall we?

strangelet on April 17, 2009 at 7:53 PM

Are you suggesting that Fox and Beck are anti-semites?

Beck and Fox reach much more viewers with their staunch pro-Israel message than Johnson and his cult ever could. In fact, I don’t see how attacking fellow consevatives or obsessing over creationists does anything to help Israel, which all that Charles does these days. He doesn’t have to like everyone who is a conservative, but if he actually engaged them professionaly and gave them a heads up about some advertiser being an anti-semite, perhaps he would get a response? Yes, he’s really about eliminating anti-intellectualism from the conservative movement EXCEPT when it suits him. After all – if you disagree with the general consensus of science, you are a heretic and must be SILENCED.

Charles is a lunatic leftist clown who got scared when the bad men with the towels on their heads came a calling. Since he feels safe now the leftist tendencies are coming out. Now he is revealing himself as something of a leftist fascist…nice work Charles.

Rick Sanchez doesn’t talk about Jeffrey Smuzinick, and there’s very little I can find about Sanchez’ victim on line.

Sanchez was never charged with vehicular homicide, and apparently has never admitted responsibility. It also appears that Sanchez did not help Smuzinick or his family pay the enormous medical bills not covered by their insurance.

Rick Sanchez killed someone, got slapped for it, and is now a CNN star. He doesn’t have the moral authority to talk about anything.

It’s another example of how the beautiful people get to be popular and live in comfort, while completely irresponsible.

While the little people, Jeffrey Smuzinick, get to suffer and be forgotten.

From now on, whenever I get anything from CNN, I will remember Jeffrey Smuzinick and his family.

The news rules for Stop Loss are that I have to be allowed to retire 90 days after the unit redeploys. Which sucks because the process takes a half a year to take advantage of all the programs. Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP)

So the unit is supposed to be back in March of 10, but I could be sent back around the holidays to start (ACAPing) again.

lol, you don;t have to post that every time.

I had also heard that he had not helped the family. In fairness I am sure his lawyers told him to never admit any kind of responsibility, verbally or financially. That said, you would think that he would feel incredibly lucky to have gotten off as light as he did, adopt a “there but for the grace of God go I” attitude about his fellow man. Takes a lot of something for someone with his history to say that about Fox, Beck and Hannity.

Or maybe we can all just have an ‘ignore the trolls day’ say Monday or Tuesday or any day of the week. With your kind permission sir. I think we could go one day a week without having to answer back to the little vermin….better yet HA guys and gals, lets’ just do it ourselves and ignore the little toads..Would be great to think their heads were exploding because no one was paying attention to their stupidity…….Please?……*sigh*

clinker46 on April 17, 2009 at 9:34 PM

Here is Charles’ reponse to Beck:

Notice how Beck sneers out the words “jazz musician,” as if they were some kind of mortal insult — as if being an alcoholic, weeping, ranting, creationist talk show host who idolizes John Birchers and Ron Paul is a real accomplishment, but practicing diligently for years, earning several gold records, and touring and recording with some of the world’s top musicians is worthy of derision and scorn.

And then this freak has the gall to compare himself to Martin Luther King Jr.

Glenn Beck is a punk.

Ok then. That was uncomfortable. Look at how emotional he got when Beck laughed off him being a Jazz Musician. Reminded me of when Olbermann held up his Cornell Diploma on his show to prove to Anne Coulter that he actually went there. LOL.

He then personally attacks Beck with a number of ad hominem attacks, including Beck being a former alcholic (which Bush was as well, but Johnson defended him. hmmmm.)

And he goes into his usual hysterical rant about Ron Paul and the John Birch society. Is there any proof Beck idolized these people, Charles?

Beck did not compare himself to Martin Luther King, but this just showcases Charles’ complete lack of listening comprehension. King represented inclusion for all those who shared and wished to advance his cause, Johnson represents exclusion for all outside of his cult. Beck is not the leader to bring us all together, he is the first to admit that, but at least he doesn’t lambast those of like mind just because he doesn’t like their style.

And, as would any 5th grader on a playground, Charles ends his rant by calling Beck a “punk”. Oh yeah, you’re the real voice of moderation Charles. Go make another thread about how Creationists are taking over the world.

You see….Charles is very hardcore in his principles.
He always sees the truth.
Sometimes that puts him on your side….sometimes it doesn’t.
But it always puts him on the side of truth.

strangelet on April 17, 2009 at 8:50 PM

Sounds like he is your messiah.

He is not always on the side of truth. He hides on his blog and snipes at people all day. He does nothing to advance Conservatism or Objectivism. His definiton of a racist is getting broader and broader. Your defense of him makes him sound like the ultimate narcissist.

He shrugged off the DHS report and it’s irresponsible vague wording of “Vets gone bad”. When a surprising number of his followers disagreed with him on this issue and expressed concern, he closed the comments section. Real truth there.

He did NOTHING to promote the message behind the tea parties. Instead he obsessed about Ron Paul Infiltrators (funny how he believes in infiltrators in this case, but dismisses Beck’s assertion that the “burn the books” woman was a left wing infiltrator) and dismissed the Tea Parties all together.

He attacks conervative after conservative and as someone said, his enemy list rivals that of Nixons. He stands for nothing, he just tears down others. He does NOTHING to promote what is right, just attacks others for being wrong and lumps everyone in with the true extremists and radicals out there.

Honestly, when reading his blog I see more talk of conspiracy groups and theories than I do when watching Glenn Beck. It is all he talks about! Birchers, Paulians, Creationists…oh my.

Sanchez was drunk that night and therefore had limited responsibility. But he is fully responsible for his behavior afterwards, and it’s been shameless.

Isn’t that what contemporary liberal culture is all about? Shameless irresponsibility?

Some drunk hit my car around Christmas of 2007 and took off. Some nice folks followed him and short story is that his insurance paid for my car repairs but he has still not gone to trail for the DUI/hit and run. I swear he’s hoping I will pass away first.
