Wow!

Ms Roesgen is as much of a tool as the angry journalist railing against radical right-wingers for being upset with him/her for writing a Somali "pirates' sympathy piece. Or, like I said over on michellemalkin.com:

Another left-wing state of mind: Free speech is for everyone except those who dare to speak in opposition to left wing beliefs.

Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued a statement on the April 15 tax protests which is as follows:

“The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs. It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt. Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

Dispicable and shameful says Rep. Schakowsky. Indeed.

Speaking of taxes, here is something despicable and shameful, Ms Schakowsky. Have you ever heard of a guy named Robert Creamer? (You should. He's your husband.)

In March 2004, Creamer, who was the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund, was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving check-kiting schemes which caused several banks to experience at least 2.3 million dollars in shortfalls during the 1990s.

Now that was despicable and shameful.

Nevertheless, Schakowsky supported her husband.

"He is innocent", said Schakowsky, who had served on the organization's board at the time the crimes occurred and signed the IRS income tax filings along with her husband.

In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months of house arrest.

This is what Schakowsky had to say then.

"I am obviously disappointed that Bob's sentence included incarceration, but we accept the judge's decision and look forward to the day that we can finally put this nearly decade-long chapter behind us," Schakowsky said.

She went on to declare that she was proud that her husband "has for his entire adult life devoted himself to fighting for a better future for others -- he has been a constant crusader for social and economic justice in this country and beyond."

Creamer (who was also a crony of Rod Blagoyevich) is now crusading for social and economic justice by writing articles for the Huffington Post. Here's his bio as it appears on the HP:

"Robert Creamer has been a political organizer and strategist for almost four decades. He and his firm, the Strategic Consulting Group, work with many of the country’s most significant issue campaigns. He was one of the major architects and organizers of the successful campaign to defeat the privatization of Social Security. He is a consultant to the campaigns to end the war in Iraq, pass universal health care, change America’s budget priorities and enact comprehensive immigration reform. He has also worked on hundreds of electoral campaigns at the local, state and national level. Creamer is married to Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky from Illinois. Arianna Huffington calls his recent book, Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win, a master’s class in electoral politics."

(when you click the above, it reads, "Hide full bio".) I'll say.

Incidentally, Schakowsky was one of those Illinois politicos who expressed interest in getting that notorious Senate appointment from Blago.

So the next time you hear Jan Schakowsky call those tax protests "despicable and shameful", rest assured she knows shameful and despicable when she sees it.

If someone had waived $20.00 in Roesgen’s face she would have dropped to her knees and performed oral sex. That’s how cheap of a whore she is.

There's NO way all the spending can work. Imagine being newly wed and your spouse just informed you that they had run up the credit cards and spend a year's worth of your salary in two months.

Makes it a bit more clear what B-HO is doing huh?

You can never tax nor spend your way out of a recession. Recession is the answer not the problem. It's the reset button for an economy.

Thanks for your comments, Ramlady. It's nice to know there are other people out there who are looking at the bigger picture.

Cheeflo, you point view has made me think. How many people feel that Obama's policies will work out? I say this seriously, now, taking all political points aside. Whether you like the idea of Obama spending your tax money in the trillions or not, how many out there think it will actually help both in the short and long term?

As I understand it, Obama's position is that the private sector will be too scared to invest and spend in a recession, which will hurt the economy and prolong the recession. The fear is it will turn into a depression. Furthermore, banks, who are key to lending money to small and large businesses, will hold back on loans during a downturn when their own existence is at risk. In these circumstances only spending by the government will give the ecnonomy the lift it needs.

That's the idea. How many think it will work? More importantly, what are the long-term consequences of this spending? If the banks and auto industry know that they will get bailed out in hard times, what will incentivise them to compete? And what will happen to the tax payer, who seems to get a raw deal from all of this?

One more thing troubles me: politicians seem to be deciding who wins and who loses. A recent report shows that banks who received a bailout have been asked to write off the debt for Chrysler by politicians. Is that fair? Can that sort of power be abused, even if you agree with it in principle?

It opens up a whole can of worms. I for one am not sure. It worries me, because I don't want to see America fail. This is a critical time for the US. Which is why I'm hoping it all works out.

What do you guys think?

The "awesome" video has been pulled.

Due to a copyright claim by CNN or some such thing.

So: Since we can't watch it anymore, what happened at the end?

Wish I could have seen it, but apparently CNN thinks they have the copyright on it... Is that correct or is CNN lying to take game the copyright system in order to protect themselves?

I’m going to say something that might surprise a lot of people. I hope that Obama is right. I hope that spending the money he has done works just the way he promised it will.

How can it? It can't. Not only is it economic folly, but a promise from Obama is worthless. You haven't been paying attention. You're going to have to wish harder.

I am astounded that this college educated CNN "professional" believes that the government is being magnanimous by "giving" $50 million to the State of Illinois. Where does she think that money came from? The government doesn't have any money of its own. The only money government has is money it has taken by force from taxpayers.

Wraith Rat, yes, you are exactly right. That point has not been overlooked at all. It cannot be stressed enough that those who do actually bother to show up at the polls must do their civic duty by researching the isuues and determining the truth for themselves. As we have seen, journalism died in 2008, and most voters just bought into the empty "hopenchange" rhetoric. A free republic cannot survive with an ignorant, uneducated populace.

That poor baby was just freaked out. Was the father there alone? Was there no one else to hand the child to? And he was yelling--of course we get why and support that 100%, but how does the infant process it? You do not bring a little child to a protest--that's the kind of stunt moonbats pull, and one reason why their children are so weird.

As for Hackette, what did you expect from CNN? They're so jealous of Fox they can hardly keep their teeth in their mouths.

My Week in Review the Response of the mainstream media to the Tea Party Protest.

My Impression of the Mainstream Media's Coverage of Tax Day, Tea Partys held across the country this past week. Predictable, Preconditioned, Conforming & Devoid of Objectivity. They reminded me of Zombies.

The Fed is running the country! We need to draft that brave, well-spoken, wonderful "suburban, self-employed woman" for Congress!

The equivalency here doesn't work. What the CNN wench did at the Tea Party stands for itself, thankfully. It needn't be compared to anything else.

There's an important point everyone seems to keep missing out there - only a very small percentage of eligible voters actually vote; and I'm referring to non-registered, legal citizens as well as the registered one's who just don't vote. I don't know exact figures, but it's some pathetic figure like 25% of those registered voters who actually vote (no one counts the disenfranchised), and only a fraction of those perform their civic responsibility of actually researching candidates running for office, finding out their positions, voting records, etc., few do little more than just believe the political ads.

I'm of the belief that if we don't get the disenfranchised re-invested, and re-teach our children the civic responsibilities some of us were taught in our youth, that the omni-present destination of "Hell-in-a-Handbasket" will be our final stop. English will be spoken, but only in soft soothing tones, with politically correct phraseology.

goes back to lurking, quietly...
