Awesome: Chicago tea partiers confront CNN hack after hit piece; Update: Hack did puff piece on lefty protests in January

posted at 2:05 pm on April 16, 2009 by Allahpundit

A seamless conclusion to the smear job heard ’round the world, thanks to some amazingly fortuitous timing by Founding Bloggers. On a day when the grassroots came out to protest the establishment, it’s fitting that a small indie outfit like FB would end up putting the screws to CNN this way. What’s most striking is how savvy the protesters are about the game Roesgen’s playing: They know exactly why she zeroed in on the guy with the Obama/Hitler sign, and it ain’t because of his grasp of economics. Stick with it until the end or else you’ll miss the astounding nerve of this disingenuous moron, who just spent three minutes on national television sneering at the people around her, to say to the woman who’s yelling at her, “You know, you really don’t need to be so antagonistic.” Content warning.

Update: Here’s something from the CNN vault that Breitbart.com just dug up. Note the final line. Did superhack utter it at any point yesterday?

I’m thinking that Obama has found his next press secretary – but why pay her directly for the job she already does?

Absolutely fantastic. As if we needed more examples of media bias … err … media advocacy.

Exit question for the blogger so fond of exit questions:

Does anyone outside the conservative blogosphere really care? We KNOW what the problem is. But nobody seems to give a rip.

BardMan on April 16, 2009 at 2:08 PM

And the “reporter” still has no clue, no clue at all.

It sucks for dumbell reporters when they get hammered by normal humans.

Good for the people to confront that jerk.
What an egotistical, arrogant person. Exactly like an Obama drone.

jencab on April 16, 2009 at 2:11 PM

Was that an argument between a reporter and an American, or between an Obama Drone and an American? What’s the difference?

Awesome, indeed! Thanks for posting that, Allah.

I’m very proud of that woman who stood up to her. She was obviously angry – but kept her composure and was civil throughout.

Actually, I was rather humbled. I’m not sure I’d have pulled it off even close to that classy – if at all.

This “reporter” is the very definition of “apparatchik.”

She is a Socialist, who will defend Socialism … while she is a “watchdog” over the government.

Yup … a Socialist watchdog over the government.

americaslaststand on April 16, 2009 at 2:14 PM

Does anyone outside the conservative blogosphere really care? We KNOW what the problem is. But nobody seems to give a rip.

Many, many people give a rip but we don’t own large media outlets to get our voices out. The free market is doing the work as CNN, MSNBC, the NYT and others slide into oblivion as their customers and viewers flee.

Bishop on April 16, 2009 at 2:14 PM

It just proves that the culture inside CNN is really no different than the culture inside the beltway. Big government, extract everything they can, then squeeze us some more and then whine (Trent Lott anyone?) when we call them on it. That CNN reporter has *ZERO* understanding of the feeling in the country, *ZERO* understanding of our founding father’s sentiments, and *ZERO* understanding of basic economics. CNN’s ratings show that the average person understands their ideological bent, and firmly *REJECTS* it!

Webrider on April 16, 2009 at 2:14 PM

I’m a gentleman – (Southern-mother trained) but I’m not sure I could have stood there and calmly explained anything to that smug face without violence.

I’ve been reading a bunch of stuff out there this morning and most people believe what Nancy Pelosi is saying about it. How do we fight this willful ignorance on the part of others? How do you stand up to the Speaker of the House who straight up lies?

This one demonstration isn’t enough.

I think we should demonstrate CNN and MSNBC and then call for a boycott until they start telling people the truth.

I mean everyday picket lines! Report honestly!

And yeah that man who had his face splashed all over the country made to look the fool by a polished trained liar, yeah he cried.

I bet this clip gets better ratings than CNN’s prime time broadcast.

Vashta.Nerada on April 16, 2009 at 2:33 PM

I’ve heard from several people who where at these various Tea Parties that in many cases news helicopters and newscrews on the ground would circle or wait until the Tea Parties were breaking up to begin filming them. Purposely waiting until there were only a few dozen people milling around and this would be the footage that they would show on TV with the talking head in the background stating that “few showed interest” in these events.

This is a huge story and I’ve never seen such manipulation by a supposedly sacred medium. What a tragic waste they have become!

I watched Susan Roesgen when she was a rookie anchorbabe in San Diego in 1990. She looked and sounded like a deer in the headlights back then, though she was cute and perky. Looks like she hasn’t learned very much in almost 20 years on the air.

rockmom on April 16, 2009 at 2:35 PM

Since when do reporters (oh, excuse me, “Journalists”) debate the subjects of their news stories? And where does that arrogant bitch get the idea that she is any wiser than the people she’s covering? She’s just a blow-dried bimbo who went to journalism school and managed to get a job at CNN.

A splendid example of why journalism is held in such contempt today.

I’d have loved to seen him with this reporter! Ha! He was very polite, knowledgeable, and I imagine extremely hard to debate with if he’s right.

I could not help myself – I told him he was talking racist. He just laughed and shook my hand.

They got away with bias on this one (except for this EXCEPTIONAL instance) by calling everyone an Obama hater and pointing out the freaks who inevitably show up at any kind of protest and making them look like the norm. But hiding it at a “we want a fair and balanced media” protest would be difficult to do.

I just heard a caller to Rush say he was an 82-year-old Army vet who attended his first ever protest, with 500 people showing up in tiny Ashland, Ohio. A female marine read Rush’s father’s speech about the Founding Fathers. This was completely spontaneous and not planned. My own 88-year-old Army-vet dad went to his first protest also, in Panama City, Florida.

People are pissed at ALL the elites in this country. This includes the media elite!

My God she only had two dogs and 4 other crack heads with her – but there were 112 Net works and camera crews there round-the-clock. The Messiah has been very lucky since the primaries and election and his first 100 days in office – his Teflon suit (for himself and TOTUS) have been knocking down the arrows pretty well. The Tea Parties I believe, along with Glenn Beck, who is and will increasingly be seminal influence in Obama’s eventual downfall – are starting the disaster that awaits all who live in Greek Columned Temples and think of themselves as above the Constitution and the People of this marvelous America!

The Susan Roesgenization of CNN:

In May, CNN posted “breaking-news video” of female journalists on Obama’s press plane fawning over the Democratic presidential candidate as he talked on his cell phone. The caption listed on the network’s Web site: “Obama in jeans: Sen. Barack Obama surprises the press corps by wearing jeans.”

In the clip, several members of the press corps yell at a Secret Service agent to “sit down” because she’s obstructing the view of their beloved Obama. They giggle and sigh as he straddles over a row of seats, and they furiously click away on their cameras. “You’re killing us,” one of them says breathlessly

econavenger on April 16, 2009 at 2:54 PM

This breed of pretentious leftist radiates pseudo-intellectual smugness, revealing an addiction to egotism. You can see the heat lines. Simply analyze the pitch of her voice and delivery when approaching the man with baby. Brushing off sign slogans left and right, thick with arrogance, finally looking over the guy, judging him instantly and barely choking out a question. What a rough day at the office for her to simply cover a conservative event!

I browse The Huffington Post on a daily basis. They made comments with glee to the effect of “you just know this woman wanted to insult and disrespect these rubes further.” They rejoice in her open contempt and needling of the attendees, adding comment after comment about low IQ. Become mindful of this self-worship and group-think. You will soon realize just how much of a leftist’s actions boomerang around to self-glorification. It is a 24/7 love fest, with levels of bigotry and judgment that aren’t tolerated elsewhere.

You can be addicted to alcohol or drugs yes, but these people display addictions to resentment, anger and most of all, ego. Arrogant, cynical leftist drones feed off it like some sort of mutant sci-fi creature sucking on a high voltage line. Ahhhh the glorious power.

Their game is as follows. You’re stupid you’re stupid you’re stupid you’re stupid. LOUD NOISES. Look at the little people crying about taxes when Obama is giving their state 50 billion. Chuckle, lol, what pedestrian dolts! Perhaps the concept of human beings choosing morality and integrity over a meager bribe is lost on them, since they live each day without honor.

If a conservative dares take enough time out of his day to counter their arguments completely, and they realize it, the go-to tactic is to split-hairs on semantics and tone of voice, like octopi inking the water to sneak past the public at large. They do this to Ann Coulter all the time. Owned by history and statistics, the retort is a flippant, oh but little Ann, you are just too venomous sweety and people may not listen. Over to you for the weather Pam! It is a calculated tactic and is quite frankly, disgusting.

This is fist-shaking at the heavens, a refusal to show humility towards the higher good, the worship of man himself.

They adore the mirror. Watch for it, challenge it and take them on.

I left Chicago over a year ago. Otherwise, I would have been in attendance.
