Right; but I’m capable of sophisticated thinking too – If, as you suggest, the way my wages are apportioned is ultimately decided by people I vote for, then I suggest this; I should send money (pay taxes) only locally – my locally elected representatives can send money to the state and federal government. This would obviously be more efficient than sending money to the fed. govt, which comes back to the state, and finally, to the local level.

I wonder if the White House itself was evacuated?

the ‘state’ of Distrito Federal,Mexico, and that is where he considers Home in his heart of hearts.

Or so you mean California, where he was born? (much like an Anchor Baby and immediately left for Mexico.)

Or do you mean Massachusetts where he lived for the middle ~20 years of his life.

Or do you mean Washington DC, the place where he wishes he lived?

Certainly, you don’t mean New Mexico. Despite him being its carpetbagger governor (and initially he was its carpetbagging Congressman) He considers New Mexico to be neither home nor favorite harbor. Privately he will admit that he despises the state.

(I’m just ‘yanking your chain’ Del… I know what you meant… I just like to make sure everyone knows that despite appearances, Richardson is NOT A New Mexican by birth or by allegiance.)

This is a reasonable answer (in a narrow sense.) But, my broader point is this; some of the expenditures in the link are extra-constitutional. I would not voluntarily pay as much in taxes as I do, except that I would be fined/imprisoned if I didn’t.

Again, I pay too much in taxes; I want to pay less, and keep more of my money, for use locally.

I would not willingly pay as much in taxes as I do now – the fact is, lots of the taxes I pay (by which I mean taxes, fees, and withholdings) are paid under duress, since I’ll be punished/imprisoned for not paying them.

Many of the expeditures shown in the link you provided are extra-constitutional. Clearly, sending money “away” to someone else is not as good as spending it locally.
