I told you so… I said they were screened.

Kaptain Amerika on April 14, 2009 at 10:32 PM

Amazing that this happened.
Not so amazing that the MSM is silent on it.
When I first saw the response to his visit, I knew that something did not seem right. Everyone has seen the video of the Bush reaction compared to the first Obama reaction, vis-a-vis the military.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the administration has Hollywood screen writers on staff.

Sign of Armageddon. We actually agree that screening those who voted for The One and giving them digital cameras is silly.

Some of the first things I read this morning were this and the story about the DHS memo. Not sure which made my blood boil more.

Pretty interesting about all the cameras being the same. It’s still nice that the folks that voted for him got to see him up close and personal.

Depends upon whom the term ‘Plastic Turkey’ refers. There are several people in that photo-op junket that fit the bill.

Yeah, they’ll be crying later, when Obama cuts their benefits and gives them the finger, like he wanted to do when he was a senator.

HornetSting on April 14, 2009 at 10:39 PM

This was totally predictable. Obama attempts to leave nothing to chance. This was a staged event consisting completely of Obama supporters/voters. Even the cameras were props. The MSM were either blatantly stupid or were in on the fix . . . I suspect the latter.

rplat on April 14, 2009 at 10:40 PM

Paranoia will destroy ya, Mr. Pantywaste Prez.

Is there anything “real” that this man has done? Was the new pooch returned after the photo op today?

Screen out anybody who didn’t vote for you.

The new label for these people is: “Right-wing extremists”.

Even if they’re serving their country under your watch.

Especially. These are the most dangerous ones.

progressoverpeace on April 14, 2009 at 10:42 PM

Oh Lord. If President Bush did this, the hoopla from the MSM jerks would have been nonstop.
However, President Bush never needed to do this. The military loved him.

Obama hates the military. The 50 people of the military that were in front of the lines, are pawns in Obama’s game, and the media gobbles it up with glee. Dear Leader will never get trashed by the media.

I really detest Obama for doing playing the military this way. He’s a disgrace.

Here’s what Richard L. Berke said about it on July 4, 2004, in the middle of a thumbsucker about John Kerry (remember him?) trying to find some way to grab the nation’s attention. Kerry was having a tough time because, well, he’s John Kerry. But also because the wicked and nefarious George Bush kept stealing the spotlight

John Kerry’s not so secret any longer MySpace entry:

Hi there fellow bloggers. My name is United States Senator John Forbes Kerry from the great state of Massachusetts. You can call me JFK if you want. I was born on December 11, 1943, although people tell me that I look at least 20 years younger. It’s probably my great hair and rugged good looks.

I recently was solicited by Michelle Malkin, Ed Morrisey and Allahpundit to be the lead blogger for their new Green Room but unfortunately had to decline because and am very afraid of them and all those commenters over there of prior commitments.

I graduated from Yale in June 1966 in the top 1% of my class. To earn extra money during the summers, I loaded trucks in a grocery warehouse and sold encyclopedias door to door. That is probably one of the reasons that I am so humble. Over my four years at Yale, I maintained a 96 grade average and received a 101 average in my senior year.

I am one of the most senior members of that grand and much loved and respected institution known as the U.S. Senate. Probably the only living Senator even a little bit greater than me is my dear friend Ted Moore Kennedy. I also have a very high IQ. Very high. At least 250 on a bad day. Much higher than that creep who stole the election from me. I know that he stole it because exit polls are never ever wrong.

I am also a great war hero. I set all kinds of records for heroism when I was in Vietnam. I was grievously wounded at least three times yet continued to insist on staying in the fight when lesser men would have given up. I won the bronze star with extra V’s for extra valor and the Silver Star for defeating a whole battalion of NVA with my bare hands.
Sometimes I feel like a had to carry all the water for those other ungrateful swiftboaters.

I sometimes like to chill out after a long day of serving the American people by having a double martini with my good friend Ted. We usually have a servant bring 21 double martinis. I get one and Ted gets one for each of his fingers and each of his toes. Contrary to what some of my very few enemies say I never marry women for just their money. They must also have a pulse. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam? I was also in Cambodia, so don’t forget that!

I would like to think that I am open minded, honest, polite, heroic and trustworthy. And I appreciate the same qualities in others although I am realistic enough to know that no one else could come close to me.

Turn offs: other politicians who spend more on haircuts than I do. That is just not right.

Who I’d like to meet:
…other progressive bloggers. Other great war heroes who hate that damn S-T-U-P-I-D Texan in the White House and those lying sons of bitcher swiftboat bastardos whose pants are on fire! Cool people who live close to Washington D.C. so that we can get together, talk about you for about 30 seconds and then spend about 9 hours talking about me. BTW, did I mention that I was in Vietnam and Cambodia? Just one more BTW, if anyone has found my magic hat please return to me.

It sounds plausible to me. The point being, the MSM will never train its laser sights on this one. And the sad thing is that even then you can’t trust the MSM to tell you what really happened. When it comes to Obama, they (well, most in the MSM — there are rare exceptions) have zero credibilty.

I can’t understand how any military personel could be happy to see a dem CIC. All they want to do is cut their budgets and increase every other social program.

Who has the self destruct code for the U.S.S. United States?

dmann on April 15, 2009 at 12:12 AM

From the Green Rooom link:

The Right Knight raises a good point… “My concern, however, would be the chilling effect on the… political rights of these soldiers when they’re asked… whether they voted for him. Someone please explain how… that is his or anyone else’s business?

This was a demonstration project for the Employee Free Choice Act. It ensures that Americans employed in the US Armed Forces are free from any employer intimidation or bribes by publicly declaring their choices before a free and fair election.

If this project is successful, it will be followed with the Military-Free America Act, and then binding arbitration for all American elections by the UN.
