Second good laugh I’ve gotten from reading HA today!

And I want to be very clear that we are resolved to halt the rise of privacy in that region.

Obviously, the President was still talking about housing.

WTF? Is it suddenly a revelation that the Golden Child might be wrong about something? Anything? Is that what makes this newsworthy in the eyes of the LA Times editorial staff?

Yeah, no bias here, folks. Just the facts.

Seriously though, you can tell by his eyes that he has had another telepromptus interruptus moment and had to go into the old memory vault for the right word…better luck next time, Barry.

So now we get Barack Hussein “I am Not an Idiot” Oopsbama.

But maybe Barry O from the barrio has a point here. We should disrupt the privacy of pirates in Somalia, like having Army privates shoot pirates. Change you can believe in!

I’ll say! Front page of my Denver Post this morning:

Obama promises to “halt the rise” of Somali piracy

AP story, but Post editors had to craft the headline to fit the available space. But in the third paragraph, darned if the the story doesn’t state unequivocally, “[open quote] halt the rise of piracy [close quote].” They’ll be hearing from me.

What a dolt he must be to gaff that line. This was the money shot to this drama and he squirted Kool-Aid.

Couldn’t that hurt when you’re, um, y’know, euphemistically speaking “taking matters into your own hands,” or, um, “self-congratulating,” if you know what I mean, what with the hook hand and all…?

this is proof that he just reads the teleprompter w/o thinking.

Too true. His speechwriters compose the boilerplate, and Ackbar just regurgitates the words. He is not engaged in what he says but only in how he delivers it. The repetitious use of “Let me be clear” is supposed to support his purported sincerity.

Well who the hell is stopping him from being clear?

He is!

Even with the teleprompter? It’s gettin’ bad.

Heh. He’s going to have to move to using an earpiece, soon – EarPrompter.

The gaffe blew the key quote and could present some problems for journalists, who will be forced to work around it.

Fox radio news played it as is all day!

The President meant “piracy,” of course, but apparently couldn’t read the word correctly off of the Teleprompter.

ohhh this could get fun…

How about hunting cruise vacations where you get to shoot up pirate vessels with a 20 mm?

I think it could be part of an economic stimulus (vacation) package.

Oh wow. I like the idea. Maybe have a $10,000 per head “license” for this, to help raise revenue. And turn it into the next reality show.

So if Congress wanted to, it could grant private US citizens the privilege of going after the pirate scum.
