It’s not just that. Pop music is going down the toilet because emphasis has been placed more on rhythm and beat and less on music and lyric. If you strip away all the grooves from that “If You Seek Amy” song, all that remains is a vapid piece of lyric and a virtually non-existent melody.

These days, of course, no one writes their own music; they just sample from someone else.

I love this sort of thing. Nothing like seeing the judges and crowd come to their conclusion before the singing starts, only to watch their stunned reactions.

It was the same way on the American version with Terry Fator, who ultimately won.

Yeah, she’s really not. She’s much better than she looks, but that’s all.

Okay Slick, what have you got going for you besides a small mind and NO talent what so ever?

Post some of your great musical work here so I can take a listen to your greatness. You want to talk the talk, now walk the walk. You remind me of all the music critics I have ever read, ignorant and no talent what so ever but you can trash others for what you can not do. Takes a pretty small person to do that but I’m calling you out, post something and impress me! I won’t be holding my breath on that ever happening in my life time.

Good try on trying to bring her down…better listen again, better speakers, or a better platform to listen.
She was right on pitch…I don’t know what her formal training, if any, but a couple of weeks in a studio and she is a star.
Beautiful voice.

In a nutshell, and I’m just guessing at why people are suggesting that, but because it’s British television. That being said the idea had not popped into my mind until someone else suggested it; besides, it seems like a pretty impossible stunt to… if not pull off, but to keep going

Same with many opera stars during the golden years of opera. Stout, stocky, graceful as oxen — but could they sing? You bet.

Some follow their dreams, but fail. But they tried.

Then there are those whose dream becomes a tangible, palpable reality.

That inspiring video shows a person whose personal achievement of a long held dream will burn within her forever. If she advances no further probably matters less to her than the fact that she reached out and touched her dream. No one can take that from her.

Then again, I remember being blown away by Sanjaya’s audition (as was Simon) before he turned into a weird joke.
