Video: Guest collapses on Glenn Beck’s show

posted at 5:23 pm on April 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

Evidently he’s okay, but was feeling ill this morning and became light-headed during the segment.

Never a dull moment with GB. Although I confess, I always thought he’d be the first one to pass out on his show.

Update: Only on GB could people think this might actually be part of the show.

Blowback

Actually, I’ve got something worse: Getting seasick on a National Review cruise during a panel session with Bernard Lewis and Victor Davis Hanson a few feet away, and having to duck under the big conference table and surreptitiously throw up into an empty water glass while hiding behind the tablecloth, only to get out from under the table and have someone ask for a photo.

Hypothetically speaking, of course… ;)

Nice posing while management is around, Roger Waters.

As soon as they are gone, you can go back to treating other posters like garbage with your condescending, egotistical
narrative.

But you are right about one thing, Beck did a fine job in a tough situation.

If Beck were the nut job conspiracy freak that his detractors say he is, he would have immediately gotten the guy a chair. As it was he was rationalizing the situation. Is the guy making a hyperbolic comment about how he feels about the gravity of the situation we were charting? Did I hear him correctly? What is the context?

csdeven on April 13, 2009 at 5:57 PM

So then you actually have issues with:

That said, is it worth it to watch Beck? Or can you get him without cable? Or just not bother? And I hope the guy is okay.

Is it a full moon or something because the anger level here is higher than normal and it’s unpleasant. The Beck hate I can tolerate because he’s the topic, but the attacks on the people commenting doesn’t add much to the conversation. Not pointing to any particular person(s) – just say’n. Regardless of your politics, we are still human — well — most of us.

I think it’s fair game for a post. But you always make a snarky remark about Glenn. I don’t understand it. And I don’t know why we have to have these guys post with abusive language. There are other places for it, but usually not Hotair.

Bambi on April 13, 2009 at 5:59 PM

Glenn Beck is the only person on TV right now who understands where we are going. One need only read about those who have gone before us to realize it.

Where we are going is ugly and Beck is the only one on TV being honest about it.

Read about Weimar Republic of Germany 1920 – 23 (1/466 billionth of starting value), Zimbabwe 2003 – Now (6 quadrillionth of the starting value and continuing to fall), Former Soviet Union 1993 – 2002 (1/14th of starting value), Argentina 1975 – 1983 (1/1,000th of starting value), Austria 1921 – 23 (about ¼ of starting value), Bolivia 1984 – 86 (1/1,000 of starting value); Bosnia-Herzegovina 1992 – 93 (1/100,000th of starting value), Brazil 1960 – 94 (1 trillionth of starting value), Chile 1971 – 73 (1/3rd of starting value), China 1947 – 55 (1/10,000th of starting value), Greece 1943 – 53 (1/50 trillionth of starting value), Hungary 1945 – 46 (100 quintillionth of the starting value), Hungary 1922 – 23 (1/4 of starting value), Israel 1976 – 86 (1/16th of starting value), Japan 1934 – 51 (1/362nd of starting value), Poland 1990 – 94 (1/10,000th of starting value), U.S.A. (Confederate States of America) 1861 – 65 (1/90th of starting value, and then, by the end of the Civil War, the Confederate Dollar depreciated to zero)

I missed this as I was flipping back and forth between Beck and Hardball. I nearly passed out seeing Matthews coming close to acknowledging tea parties as smart politics. He had big issues with Fox coverage but at least he acknowledged it. First I heard of it was when I flipped to Beck and he mentioned it along with a report that the guest was fine. I think they had EMT’s brought in and the guest was apologizing. Beck acknowledged it was great for ratings but clearly he was relieved the guest was ok.

Haha, that’s hilarious, although I’m sure it wasn’t funny at the time. In a way it’s comforting to know that those things happen to even the best of us.

I’ve seen people pass out so quickly their heads smacked the floor. They were ok, and they had just gotten dizzy from standing in one position too long. You gotta get your head down. I got dizzy in animal labs a couple of times, partly because of the blood, and partly from standing still to watch the procedure. I would “accidentally” drop my papers so I could spend some time bent over putting them back in order. That worked just fine.

I had the stomach flu back in January. Two days after it passed I had just finished a 32 oz bottle of water and went to go check the laundry. I started to pass out and I was doing the Fred Sanford “I’m comin Elizabeth” walk. It was quite dramatic I assure you.
It scared me quite a bit. I felt sorry for the 911 operator who had to listen to me give out my address..

I think when something like that happens, people are momentarily stunned and don’t know what to do. My only experience fainting was many years ago in Chicago at an outdoor restaurant on a sweltering hot day. I stood up and went down immediately on the cement. Somebody must have called 911 in a panic because when I woke up there were several firetrucks, an ambulance and way too many people staring at me. A very nice fireman took care of me and carried me away from the crowd. On the downside, it was the most humiliating experience of my life. On the upside, I dated the fireman for a couple of years. Silver linings everywhere.

Look dude, I was there and Beck did all he could do. Beck is an over the top personality and he says and does wacky stuff all the time. He is always looking for someone to “get” his brand of hyperbolic humor. At first, he simply thought the guy was reciprocating and when it was clear the guy wasn’t kidding, Glen was waiting for the guy to sit himself down if he needed to. When it was clear the guy wasn’t cognizant enough to handle that, Glen then grabbed his hand. But it was too late.

Actually the real Roger Waters is a completely unhinged moonbat.

For those of you who keep saying didn’t handle well — You are lame.

Watch it again. The 1st time the guy mumbled it. The 2nd time he heard and asked if he was okay and if he wanted to sit down.

You all act like this is an everyday occurrence. It’s not. The one time I passed out, my face was in floor before I had time to react or even sit down. Elapsed time: about 1 second.

But I’m sure all you geniuses, who are critical, would have handled it perfectly, especially on live TV. The fact he grabbed his hand saved him from possibly smashing his head on the floor.

Totally agree with you on that one, Wall.

If I see Sean, I’d be honored to puke on him for ya Hawk.

Knucklehead on April 13, 2009 at 6:32 PM

Now why would you degrade puke that way?

csdeven on April 13, 2009 at 6:35 PM

That first trackback headline is just HILARIOUS:

GLENN BECK MURDERS GUEST WITH HIS MIND, NATION COWERS IN FEAR

Gotta love the new media.

I’ve got a big month long European river cruise planned for June….from London all the way to Russia and then another Mediteranean cruise for next fall.

Knucklehead on April 13, 2009 at 6:32 PM

I’m jealous! I wanted to do a Rhine River day cruise when I got EVACed to Landstuhl but the MWR folks wouldn’t let me go with a cast on my arm. After I retire (if they ever let me) I swear I’m going to do something like you’re talking about. I only got to see the area close Landstuhl, but it was so pretty. If the rest of Europe is anything close, I’m sure it’d be well worth it.

Glenn just joked: “Watch tomorrow. We promise no guests will pass out. Though you never know. Maybe I’ll pass out.”

A true happy warrior.

I thought Beck handled the situation extremely well. Grace under pressure.

I went to college and have yet to understand any of your points. I get your opinions; but cannot figure out your points nor if you are that whacked out or if you are a troll.

p.s. don’t get caught in fire, Wallboy, someone not to your ‘standards’ might just not be so eager to help ya out – condescending little twerps can fend for themselves. Me, I’ll take firefighters any day.
