Video: Guest collapses on Glenn Beck’s show

Evidently he’s okay, but was feeling ill this morning and became light-headed during the segment.

Never a dull moment with GB. Although I confess, I always thought he’d be the first one to pass out on his show.

Update: Only on GB could people think this might actually be part of the show.

I’m glad the fellow is ok, though I’m sure a bit embarrassed. I have yet to watch the video or the show because I have school during the day and wait to get home and watch it on the DVR. I’m glad that, according to others who have already commented, Mr Beck handled the situation well.

On a lighter note, reading this thread (and pretty much every other thread) since Ed posted the “What commenter archetype are you?” all I see, aside from the comments themselves, are the various types of commenter archetypes popping up. It’s sort of fun to think about.

I went to college. No wonder we cant relate.

The Wall on April 13, 2009 at 6:30 PM

If you went to college (which I highly doubt – probably still trying to get thru high school) then love to know which one. Judging by your posts, it must be Harvard no?

What a waste of money if that’s truly the case.

I’m guessing BYU

thomasaur on April 13, 2009 at 6:50 PM

Actually, I could care less which one. The fact that it produced such high quality of intellect is proof positive that our entire educational system is in the toilet.

This is a fake, like Beck’s debunking of the FEMA camps and his 912 project!

BobAnthony on April 13, 2009 at 6:52 PM

He handled it pretty well, actually. Even kept the guy from going down as hard as he might have by holding his hand like that. It doesn’t get much more awkward, but it could’ve been worse.

You have to admit, thinking about this fiscal nightmare makes us all a little woozy from time to time.

Branch Rickey on April 13, 2009 at 7:08 PM

And of course it happened when Beck is having another one of his armageddon scenarios, does he literally do those everyday? I’m so glad I don’t know the answer to that. Rush Limbaugh in a car is kind of funny and over the top. Sean Hannity is painful but harmless. Glenn Beck freaks me right the fuck out and it’s because he’s so obviously fake and calculated. Oh and classy with the jeans buddy.

They were explaining how the assets had been combined.

Now if you consider that a doomsday scenario, then you must agree with Glen Beck that this situation with the assets is pretty bad.

It’s ok.. his morning prayers will revive him.

Hopefully his black robe is clean and his eyes are focused so Anton LeVey will be easy reading…

GoodBoy on April 13, 2009 at 7:11 PM

If I was going to fabricate some collapse of a guest who happens to be an economist, I would have picked when Beck showed just how much a trillion dollars is, and that the government just created it out of thin air.

It is rather interesting how some people consider Beck’s behavior as a performance. I think it is rather a waste of time to even mention the fabrication of anything Beck does. It is easy to be cynical. You don’t have to participate in the discussion. If you don’t believe Beck, fine, but the conversation just simply ends at that point. I try to look more at what Beck says as a matter of truth. Is what he saying nonsense, or is there some truth to it? If the latter, what does that mean?

Weebork on April 13, 2009 at 7:11 PM

I have enjoyed Hot Air for a couple years now. Registered but have only chimed in a few times. One my favorite things about Hot Air was that this was an adult conversation. Tempers occasionally flared, but for the most part arguments were well laid out, as were rebuttals. Name calling was infrequent, at best. Differing attitudes/politics were, if not respected, at least tolerated.

Lately though, the caliber of the conversation has decreased MARKEDLY.

I won’t go into any detail at all regards my personal politics, because politics is not the problem. Childish behavior and comments are.

I do not presume to speak for others, only myself, when I ask that the conversation please return to it’s former, more adult level. I would wager that I am not alone in thinking that judicious use of the ban hammer is in order.

Let me be plain that I am in no way asking that dissenting viewpoints be silenced, only that minimal standards of reason and common courtesy be adhered to.

A lot of conservatives tend to be sheep that think if anybody steps out of line, they are no longer part of the flock. Thus, if you dont worship Sarah Palin, you are a “troll” or, to use the Treacher technique, you voted for Obama.

This is nonsense. There’s a difference between “worshiping” Sarah Palin and constantly putting her down/ridiculing her.

We get enough of that elsewhere, and it’s kind of tiresome to encounter that sort of thing here, and so consistently so, too.

That’s all.

He and Poptech have been told that about 50 different ways and they just don’t care. Getting under the skin of any Conservative that is willing to put up even the most minimal defense of her and her family are 14 point bucks for these two fearless hunters. They don’t care a lick about Conservatism although they might, I said might, even truly be Conservatives. All they care about is riling up the base. Look Candi,

I really dont care. To me, its all a laugh. But if you really want to know, read this thread.

I came on the thread and said something supportive of Michelle Malkin. Immediately, I had about six self-appointed Palin Guard attacking me. Using inappropriate language..the whole deal.

So, it wasnt like I fired a single shot and then all these d-bags come on and start in on me.

Like I said, I dont care. I was amused and not offended and I was laughing out loud and hard enough for people to look at me as they were walking by my office when I started the fireman smack. It was great!!

But, with the off chance that you actually are sincere and want to be fair, read this entire thread and then tell me who was the instigator and who was acting in self defense.

Like I said earlier, the cultists now have it in for me because I pointed out that the Emporeress Xenu has no clothes.

Bambi on April 14, 2009 at 12:47 AM

That happened once right after I gave blood. I was 19 yrs. 6′ 135 lbs, not a great idea looking back at it. Landed in a chair where somebody set a large open box of paper clips. The clips all went sailing and the folding chair crashed. Returned to work within an hour and everybody had already heard of the incident. Thankfully no YouTube.

The second time I awoke in a hospital. I asked proverbially, “Where am I?” Rose Hospital, which meant nothing to me. “How did I get here?” Ambulance. “Dash it all! I always wanted to be in an ambulance and hear the siren. There I was, told I was in an ambulance and didn’t remember anything! “How did they know?” Friend called. Oh.

The third time was in a bar, the place was crowded. I just took my first sips of a Cuba Libre. I was talking among a group of deaf friends. I suddenly could not make sense of their signing nor could I control my own hand and arm movements so I withdrew from the conversation. Thump. Witnesses assumed I was drunk and deaf.

I have more, but this concludes my passing out anecdotes. The rest are dreadful. What amazes me, though, about other people passing out is the urgency witnesses feel to get the afflicted person back on their feet. It’s as if the sooner normalcy is restored, the sooner witnesses can feel comfortable themselves. I believe best to leave the fallen person in a heap no matter how unseemly until they come around on their own, take stock of the situation, manage an internal systems check, and sit up by themselves without being rushed, especially not vexed immediately with pop-quizzes like “What did you have for breakfast? Where did you park your car? Who is the current president? What month is it?”

Glenn Beck is amusing. I like his comic voices. I can see he’s trying to understand and convey his understanding. I do not watch him ordinarily because for myself a little Beck goes a long way. He handled this situation very well. I only wish he could have read the signs sooner, closed up the segment, and offered Buckner a chair and cup of orange juice, but that’s asking a bit much.

Don’t you just have to shake your head at the trolls, including Allahpundit? Turn the freakin channel if you don’t like it.

Does anyone remember David Letterman accusing O’Reilly, Limbaugh and Hannity of not actually believing what they say on T.V. or radio? That’s how these simpleton leftists think, if anyone has idealism that is counter to theirs, leftists claim that they are just spewing the beliefs to make money….but yet, a leftist and ONLY a leftist can be true to their belief system according to these same leftists.
The same as above goes for the idiots that claim everything on Glenn Beck’s show is fake or staged.
Beck rarely puts much on his show that I didn’t learn in high school, not to mention college….Too bad more Americans didn’t learn high school history and the Constitution but we even see that example in Congress, The White House and the Supreme Court.

Other people have BDS or ODS. I have GBDS, I don’t believe a single thing this man does is genuine or legit. I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t orchestrated, how has this never happened on any live news program before? Whatever Glenn Beck you suck forever.

Anyone who voluntarily uses more than 2 exclamation points is certifiably insane. Or 13 years old.

I’m starting to think that The Wall isn’t so much a troll as it is a prepubescent digital weeble. Trolls are vile, uninteresting creatures (i.e., DTMH) that are only enjoyable in their destruction; watching folks here verbally beat the snot out of The Wall over and over again is just entertaining.

The first step is admitting you have a problem…

Nominating your own comment as quote of the day is the single lamest thing I’ve ever seen on HotAir.

I recommend you don’t tell too many people what college you went to. Just say you spent 6 years drilling holes in your head with a DeWalt.

The guy turned really pale. Yikes.
eforhan on April 13, 2009 at 5:32 PM

I’m not a doctor, but I have had the misfortune of almost fainting once in a doctor’s office when I had blood drawn. I turned incredibly pale and got tunnel vision, started going deaf, couldn’t smell… It was really scary. Apparently they are called “vasovagal reactions” and basically your blood pressure drops and the blood runs out of your head. I feel really bad for the poor guy… It’s embarrassing and scary at the same time. I’m glad he’s ok.

Outlander on April 13, 2009 at 5:39 PM

Happened to my daughter once just after getting a shot. It’s a completely uncontrollable reaction that some people have. Embarrassing, yet nothing to be ashamed of.

The clinic now has a rule that shots are only administered to people sitting down.

Dream big, and someday a long time from now you might even make it all the way to high school.

Why are you’all feeding this troll???

How many times have any of you used pwned in a sentence? That alone should tell you the level of this character.

Every post you’ve made on this page contains the same writing pattern, regardless of whom you reply to. Methinks you’re incapable of having a real discussion. Just traces of 12 year-old over-punctuation and temper tantrums.

Amen. Until Poptech, Wall and few others are banned permanently, this site will continue to deteriorate.
