Ready for more Hot Air? Try the Green Room!

We’re pleased to announce the launch of our newest feature at Hot Air, the Green Room! We’ve created space for some of our most respected commenters to blog themselves right here at Hot Air and lead their own discussions. For this launch, we’ve begun with the following members of the Hot Air community:

You may have already noticed the feature link at the top of the page — be sure to check this out, as our Green Room bloggers have already begun. Add the RSS link to your feedreaders, too, to stay current with the fast-moving conversations!

I understand perfectly. I was very bad today and was reading from work. Very unprofessional. When you come in on a thread that is well on it’s way it tough. Most of the time I just read and don’t comment because I am probably repeating something already mentioned. It’s not for a grade or money so just have fun.

This is so scary, “Lone Wolf”, “Cells”, the buzz words, “stockpiling of ammunition”, “returning veterans posses the combat skill and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists”, conducted by a cabal of Jewish “financial-elites”…
This is our government, everything wrong is caused by the “rightwing”.
I would like to see their report on “leftwing extrmists”…they are found to be peaceful, fully supporting the failed attempts of the president to lead, content to socialize our country, and they are the first like of defense against the surging rightwing extremists…

There are some commenters I truly enjoy… but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he/she/it can write and/or guide a discussion.
There are a couple of names on the “wanna” list that puzzle me… although I have a seen a few pithy remarks here and there… in the heat of battle the same have not been able to handle the load.
Surely, there is hidden talent at HA, but HA needs to be very judicious in how it proceeds (as I know it can and will!).

No, the “selected bloggers” may not be rich, but they do have a lot of time on their hands. This would be necessary, not only to write decent commentary, but to wade through dozens — no, I mean hundreds — of brief smart-aleck comments, trolls, and other irrelevant excuses just to say something. When I joined this forum two years ago, I could be assured of reading something from somebody who knew what the hell they were talking about. It has since degenerated into a snark-fest. It is also fascinating to read comments from ostensibly conservative would-be pundits, drooling over the physical attractiveness of female commentators, including those who are obviously married. (No, not me. Some of them are young enough to be my daughter. That would be creepy.) I still enjoy being part of this forum, for those few opportunities to intelligently engage. But they are getting fewer.
I’m also wondering if the opportunity to register with MM’s combox would represent a step up. Sorry, guys.
I wouldn’t mind being one of the chosen few myself, but I’m not sure whether it’s an honor or not. It’s a good thing Ed is running the show, because I’m starting to get my news and analysis from guys like him now, as opposed to those cake-eaters on the airwaves.

I would like to congratulate HotAir staff on your selection of the Green Room contributors. I have enjoyed reading them immensely.
I cannot understand where these Top Contributors find all the time they have to post on here.
Even more puzzling to me is why they would be so willing to share their talent for free. There are many newspaper columnists who are being highly compensated and they do not have a tenth of the talent that these Green Room contributors share with us, free of charge, on a daily basis.

Don’t listen to Hawhthorne…he may be one of the ones getting the money…imagine you posting and not getting paid, and the others getting a few pennies for each responsive post. It adds up if you generate enough business.
If they can get you for free, great…but you should really think, why should they get paid and you aren’t?
