“call them out”? Come on. One lady doesn’t like evolution. Big friggin’ deal. And the transcript that Charles posted has one of the guys there challenging her. So Charles is making a big deal out of this. Great. That’s really important work. As I said to April, I doubt that Charles Johnson knows much of anything about evolutionary theory, except that he thinks it makes him sound smart if he contends that it must be true and sets out to demonize everyone who disagrees.

If they are part of your party, fine, own them. Its ok to burn books on evolution, w/e.

It’s okay for people to burn whatever books they want to, so long as they own the books. Why do you have a problem with this?

Who am I to “throw them out”? I’m not Charles Johnson, after all, who has written many important papers on the mechanisms of biological evolution and speciation … Hasn’t he?

Like I said, people cheered Letterman running a steamroller over all sorts of things. Tell me how that is so different. And Letterman did it on national TV, not in some little tea party where a guy with a video phone captured a moment.

The last mini-segment had Jerry bounce out; ‘Aren’t these Tea Partiers just republican Obama-bashers?’
Ann said that we are about as grass-roots, (non-partisan), as you can get.

Did you support Dave Letterman when he used to crush things with a steamroller on TV, or did you raise bloody hell about that? I thought a lot of it was quite funny, but then you would have to scream that I want to steamroll all sorts of things. This is about the same … unless you thought that there was some movement to actually burn all books about evolution. I don’t know. Maybe you do think that.

Oh, gee. Someone complained about evolution. I’m willing to bet that your own understanding of general evolutionary theory is wanting, as is true for most people – Charles included. I get a kick out of people who like to defend things they don’t understand. It’s all very Al Gore-ish of you and Charles. BTW, I am a proponent of the relevancy of general evolutionary theory and its biological applications, but I can’t stand the loons who like to think they are arguing for biological evolution when they have no concept of what they are speaking about.

I can’t really figure out what your problem is, but it gets really annoying.
