Term Limits because NO one is indispensable.

I'll stand with Dr. Evil on this one. It's the only good way to slow down the bribery that's stolen our representative government. Note that left to Congress we get McCain-Feingold where the people surrender 1st Amendment rights and the money stream actually grew.

We need Term Limits +. There should be at least one election cycle between being termed out of one post and running for another. And No Repeats.

The strongest argument against it is that it increases the influence of the civil service bureaucracy. That requires some thought.

Cornyn is my new benchmark for a phony "conservative" Republican. There wasn't much national attention on it but this two-face liar was extolling his party's alternative to Obama's Stimulus at the same time he was bragging on his website of helping to pass the SCHIP program.

He is noticeably more progressive now than in years past having altered his principles to the latest poll. The Republican Party is totally corrupt and sold out to what they perceive as an inevitable march to socialism. There is not a single one in the GOP who argues free-market capitailism. They are all poll-watching cowards with the possible exception of Tom Coburn.

It drives me crazy how many conservatives are still hanging on to the GOP corspe. As much as I love the guy, Hugh Hewitt, is the prototype. Smart as a whip but incapable of admitting he's beating a dead horse. It pains me to hear him interview his favorite Republican hypocrits as they proudly extol their brave but fruitless resistance to the Democrat onslaught. These same pigs greedily confiscated more public money than any Congress in history when they were in power. If they had any honor they would have taken the Grassley way out and slit their bellies hara-kiri style.

How much more malfeasance by the GOP is required to convince our conservative brothers and sisters that this party is DEAD?

Without a job here is better than without a job in Mexico. They aren't going anywhere, just as entitlements and other unconstitutional Federal power grabs aren't going anywhere.

Finishing the fence is something that's doable. There are other constructive things we can do that are possible. "Shoving" them back is a delusion.

Reality. It's right there in front of you. Take off the gloid blinds.

We have no choice but to operate w/in the confines of reality.

"straight jacket, utopia, peyote, blah blah blah"

Lay off the astroturf, O-bot.

The confines of reality are not what your dear leader defines them to be.

Ad hominem is fun for all.

Plus, you argue like a baby. Is "No you can't" really the best response you can give to the argument that we can defenestrate them either by force or by preventing them from getting jobs if we have the national will?

[...] Allahpundit seems baffled by offer to work with Pres. Obama on “comprehensive immigration reform” this year: The public’s appetite for amnesty while the economy’s still comatose will almost surely be weaker than it’ll be during an economic recovery next year or the year after. Is that what Cornyn’s thinking? Or is he ready to make a play for Hispanic voters by going the full McCain route here? [...]

There might be a very slight chance of us bringing home half of the troops home from Europe. As for the rest, here's a lovely straight jacket for you:

People could stop pretending that their Congress people are not the problem, that it is the other's states people that are the problem...this country needs an enema. Term Limits because NO one is indispensable. They can't hook the corporate feeding tube up because they won't be there long enough to make it worth their while. Then who gets attracted to public office? Not Career Politicians trying to cash in on their use of the Office, the American People elected them to. This isn't rocket science, even if they didn't teach it "Civics Classes" in all of the "57" states LOL! It is so easy even a cave man could figure it out :)

The reality is that they could be returned if we had the will to do it just by enforcing the employment laws currently on the books.

You do not have the will to enforce those laws, and you appear to assume that everyone else is just like you. You are the same side of the coin as a liberal.

Yeah, and I'd like to fantasize about a Federal Government that only carries out it's responsibilities as enumerated by the Framers in the US Constitution. Yeah, we'll just lop of over 60% of what the Feds do tomorrow! Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps and all the rest goodbye! If it ain't in Article 1 Section 8, we'll just shove that stuff right out of existence!

Mmm hmm, that has the same chance of happening as 15-20 million Mexicans going back to the hell they risked their lives to leave.

All Republicans should just say "no" to Obama "comprehensive immigration reform." The reasoning is simple: the majority of the American people rejected the Bush-McCain-Kennedy "comprehensive immigration reform" in 2007; there simply will not be law enforcement under "comprehensive immigration reform"; law enforcement must come first before anything else, such as guest worker program, is even discussed.

John McCain said that the problem with the Reagan era immigration reform was that the law enforcement provisions were not enforced. He kept saying that the intention of the 2007 "comprehensive immigration reform" was to have law enforcement. But, after the defeat of that effort at "comprehensive immigration reform," McCain acknowledged that the people did not believe there would be law enforcement.

So, no law enforcement, nothing to talk about. Even John McCain should at this point agree with that position.

I've been posting on here for a long time, especially when the topic comes up of illegals from Mexico. I've described how my community was once safe, you could even walk in my neighborhood at night with no fear. It's been a good 10 years and my community has the worse crime rates in my county of Gwinnett, Georgia.

Imagine my joy to hear a DEA agent say that Gwinnett County, GA is the drug cartel's center in America. Georgia is another sanctuary state, our governor has done absolutely nothing about the flow of illegals. Four years ago, a female was shot while she was driving her car on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. She was caught in the cross fire between two gangs. So far, kidnappings have only been occurring between the illegals, but how long before another innocent civilian gets caught in the cross fire and dies just like that young woman?

As I have said many times before, you do not want your city or state mirroring mine. There is no such thing as a hardworking, law-abiding illegal.

I’m from Houston, TX, and Cornyn is NOT a republican. I will not be voting for him nor for Kay Bailout Hutchison next time around. I’d rather be screwed by a democrat than by a republican-poser.

You and Me Both, they did whatever Bush told them to do or if he told them to vote against one of his proposals for political cover they did that. These two are see through.

How does one absorb 14 million people bureaucratically? Think about it, this is an empty promise to illegals. For one, the people in the immigration department can't take care of the paper work for the people entering the country legally. So 14 million are going to get dumped on them at once, and magically they get made citizens? Maybe they will use the DMV model LOL! So what happens if 14 million people get made citizens. First Corporations will have to pay them a fair wage and they get all the protection of the Country and no more exploitation. Is that what Corporate America really wants? They own the politicians so will this really be resolved? More then likely this is just being brought up to distract everyone from the state of the Economy, Job loss Bail Outs, Spending, our Taxes are going to sky rocket...so the Politicians want to get reelected in 2010 what better way then to have us all bickering with each other and blaming illegal immigrants. When was the last time anyone here wanted to pick lettuce for a living?

"It's the Economy Stupid" We are just being manipulated by the politicians and the MSM, that is also corporate owned. (Amnesty for illegals is a Distraction) IF we are constantly bickering with each other we won't be demanding they do OUR business with the Focus on OUR ECONOMY SEE (Tea Partys). The Economy which is in tuff shape but not as a tuff a shape as it was in 1992, when Bill Clinton was President. The longer they can keep us divided the more they can hold onto their seats in our Government see they don't want to become unemployed. They also are bailng out all the people who helped Barack H Obama get elected...how else does a Community Organizer -Green Senator with 18 months in the U.S. Senate get elected? Now the Democrats are paying them back (Bailouts) with our tax dollars hence TEA PARTYS.

It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for Cornyn or Hutchinson = Corporacans.

Often times, even if they are illegal they have a family member who is not and who they are worried SICK will be seperated from them by the INS.

That's tough. And criminals are also worried that they will be caught and separated from their families. Boo hoo. If they want to be together, they can all go to the country that they are all legal in. They have no right to stay here (not the illegals). None.

The family issue is part of the movement in favor of immigration reform.

It's an asinine argument.

Please stop pretending that gay marriage and abortion are the only “family values” issues. Sometimes its about the ability to have your family members near and dear to you.

No family has the RIGHT to gather in the US. How tough is it to understand that?

You have no respect for the idea of a nation, at all. People like you would have us back in the stone age, the way you brush aside law in favor of satisfying your petty desires and emotional problems.

Here's the problem!
Hispanics should vote for Conservatives. They live their lives as Conservatives; they raise their families with conservative values.
So do Blacks in America! And Blacks vote overwhelmingly for the democrats.
And so will Hispanics!
If Conservatives go the John McBlame shamnesty route they will be cutting their own throat.
They will not win over one single "new citizen". It’s the end game for our country.

Republicans need to stop pandering on the amnesty issue and start accentuating the fact that the Hispanic culture is a very religious, family-oriented and hard working people.

Sometimes I wonder if you guys think before you post. This is exactly why immigration reform is such an important issue for latino voters. Often times, even if they are illegal they have a family member who is not and who they are worried SICK will be seperated from them by the INS. The family issue is part of the movement in favor of immigration reform. Please stop pretending that gay marriage and abortion are the only "family values" issues. There’s not much difference between you and a Utopian liberal except the side of that same coin detached from reality.

Let your intellect overcome your emotions. 15-20 million people will not go back to Mexico, even if shoved by your imaginary cohorts.

The reality is that they could be returned if we had the will to do it just by enforcing the employment laws currently on the books.

You do not have the will to enforce those laws, and you appear to assume that everyone else is just like you. You are the same side of the coin as a liberal.

They just need to be reminded that they have more in common with conservatives than they do with liberals.

Cornyn was strongly opposed to it, but he been reelected since the last amnesty debacle. I like John and talk to him numbers of times, but he a damn politician. You never know what these people are going to do. It will be interested to see if Cornyn revert to the Bush, McCain, Graham's way of thinking. Now Kay Bailey Hutchinson has been in bed with Berry on almost everything. This woman want to be the new Governor. I not crazy about Rick Perry, but personally, I will take Perry before Kay Bailey anytime.
