Strong foreign policy is over?
Traditional values, over?
This isn’t what BHO voters wanted, was it?

although i DO agree with the straight shooter aspect. it IS a pretty bold admittance but… still… they’ve been saying this for how long? 80s? earlier?

Schumers a gloomer anyway.

Drunk Report on April 9, 2009 at 8:20 PM

From the man who admitted on the floor that the stimulus was pork and claimed the American people really don’t care about earmarks.

I like this man’s honesty!

He makes great content for campaign commercials.

Nessuno on April 9, 2009 at 8:20 PM

Maybe Chuckie thinks verbal rambling will distract us from his unethical ways.

jgapinoy on April 9, 2009 at 8:20 PM

El_Terrible on April 9, 2009 at 8:24 PM

If this dip sh.t believes what he says, he should resign immediately. If you can’t support soverignty for The United States, including a strong foreign policy, you should quit and leave. The blue state mentality never ceases to astound me. It is statements and attitudes like this that are driving this country into a great schism. If thise marxist/democrats don’t pull it in, they might be senators, congressmen, and judgos over and of nothing.

Old Country Boy on April 9, 2009 at 8:26 PM

Allah,
Great call! This is how you get HA readers pissed with you, back – by throwing some red meat about a liberal New york democrat’s “honesty” !

you are an evil genius.

The blue state mentality never ceases to astound me. It is statements and attitudes like this that are driving this country into a great schism.

It is easy to have this mentality when

A. You harbor a grudge about the “original sin” of this country and are either constantly angry or constantly ashamed of it.

B. You think of traditional values as nothing more than mere political tools and use it in mocking tones as Chucky did here.

C.You think that a strong US foreign policy automatically equates to white imperialism/arrogance/captitalist exploitation/what ever else negative adjective you can fill in.

Schumer says all these things because there are millions of liberals who are nodding their heads as they listen to him tripe. And consistently vote for him when he runs for re-election.

Admit it – Pretty muxh ANY Democrat with the exception of Joe Lieberman and Jim Webb could have said this, and you wouldnt have been surprised at all.

nagee76 on April 9, 2009 at 8:34 PM

It’s amazing what a majority in the House and Senate, and a Social Liberal Democrat in the White House will do…………….

…………. everything that they believe and stand for, but hid from the American people for years finally comes out in the light of day.

No need to hide it anymore…………..

……….. next up, pure hard core propaganda from Hollywood, no more subtle hints, comrade!

Wow! When I saw the headline, I thought Allah was just being snarky. But NO! Do you believe he actually said that??? And some people elected this clown? And then he has the gall to tell the Repubs to throw us all out! The Repubs will be lucky if they still have us in two years instead of most of us being in The Constitution Party.

What will it take for the citizens of New York, Michigan, & California to realize that their suffering is at the hands of really corrupt Liberal politicians; tax and spend socialites.

Schumer: The time for traditional values and strong foreign policy has passed

Now that’s how to run a nation.
I’m truly surprised this man has never become President.

yellow_railroad on April 9, 2009 at 9:12 PM

The funny (heh) part of this is that in another society without traditional values and some level of internal and international security…Chuckie would be a dogcatcher someplace, instead of a Senator. Being Jewish, he might actually have been chopped up by the local Muslims, especially for his attitude and voice.

He turns on the source of his “success”.

Being what he is and what he has done, he has every reason to have contempt for the system that rewarded him and keeps reelecting him.

For all you useful NY idiots who keep sending this ass to the Senate…this is what he thinks of your intellect. You got the poltician you deserve.

Harry Schell on April 9, 2009 at 9:12 PM

Crash a bank, take control and change the world. He must have learned the drill from Soros and Geithner.

econavenger on April 9, 2009 at 9:15 PM

I consider courtesy and respect to be a traditional value. So if I understand Chucky correctly if I ever meet him face to face I should forget these old fashioned ideals and just go ahead and “B**ch Slap” him into the next century? Who are the imbeciles that keep voting this douche into office? Are they letting the asylum patients vote now?
Good Lord we need term limits!!!!!

primer on April 9, 2009 at 9:21 PM

Schumer is a vile, disgusting excuse for a man, and New York should feel deeply ashamed for electing this piece of garbage over and over again.

‘Course, I’m from Massachusetts; goodness knows we have our own Ted-shaped cross to bear…

Chuck Shumer is a the quintessential a%%hole.

Whatever he advocates you better be sure and do the opposite.

For someone who is wrong so often, he sure is an arrogant condescending snide loud mouth.

CP on April 9, 2009 at 10:46 PM

This hack knows he’s set for life thanks to riding on the backs the saps who vote for him over and over again. He knows that as long as he makes his constituents think that he is their “protector” and he’s smarter than they are, he can say all the dumb crap he wants. If his constituents aren’t willing to use common sense and question this politician ever, he will continue to use them with a big, fat smile on his face.

pjean on April 9, 2009 at 10:58 PM

An effective interviewer would have asked Schumer what he means by “a strong foreign policy” and why it should be discarded. Likewise, he should be asked to clarify what he means by “traditional values” (and notice that Schumer puts that term in scare quotes) and why they should be discarded. Do these interviewers not recognized where there are openings for clarification, or do they just want the interviewee to spout talking points as if they are received wisdom? (Don’t attempt to answer the last question. I think I know what the answer is.)

Chucky Schmucky Schumer loves to hear himself talk. He likes to hear himself talk even more than Obama likes to hear himself talk, a feat that heretofore I believed to be impossible.

I don’t see ANYONE in Washington standing up to the constant violations of the Constitution by the Democrats in Congress and the great O’bunghole, not ONE of the pantywastes in Congress and don’t give me the tired crap about the GOP standing up, they don’t and they won’t because the GOP is just too gutless.
The truth is, no one OUTSIDE of government would have standing according to the bought off court system.

oldleprechaun on April 10, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Amen to that Brother. He is a Chucky Schumer times 10. The only thing is that he is quiet about it. He never says anything publicly. He and Obama were “buds” in the Senate voting for the most dangerous and odious measures. He is just as liberal as Obama. He is Obama’s guy. Warner is not any better. What happened to the great State of Virginia? They used to be sensible, but I guess all of the Jersey, NY, Vermont settlers have changed our once red state.
I would love for these guys to get recalled.

Did I misread that, or are you just terminally unaware of Schumer’s history? Dude’s about as corrupt as you can get, from stolen records used to dig up dirt on opponents, to stolen funds and property glossed over with political power, to creating the run on IndyMac through market-manipulating press releases, to just generally lying about and attacking the Constitution.

He’s a true-believing liberal AND a corrupt politician.
