My brother Joey_G (the only liberal I actually talk to, mom says I have to) came up with the best idea I ever heard on the subject. His idea was to have all the presidential primaries on the same day. The day he thought would be perfect: February 29th.

Well, yeah. I’ve said that for years. I live in Indiana and historically our primary votes don’t count at all. It’s quite disheartening. I’d love a national primary day. I have no idea why we don’t do that. That would make things MUCH more simple. There’d be no more Operation Chaos because folks would be too busy voting for their OWN best candidate. I think it would be more truthful and less stratetgic.

Regarding Sanford’s delivery – folks… let’s NOT pick on the messenger. Let’s focus on the message. I am NOT going to get locked into a particular candidate too early. I’m not choosing sides yet. We all need to hang loose and let’s try to stay away from in-fighting within the party.

There is no way this guy has the charisma to become POTUS, no matter how much conservative rhetoric comes out of his mouth.

In case you didn’t notice, we elected the last guy based on “charisma.”

At some point SOME ONE is going to have to be the grown ups in the nation and start electing quality and not mere cosmetics. If you couldn’t make it to the end of this message…if you were YAWNING…then I fear more for this nation than ever before. The left and the right are capable of electing the MOST inexperienced and dangerous characters due to our worship of sound bite and image.

For the record, that message completely resonated with me and I felt like I was listening to someone with sound judgement and solid ideas. Now THAT is an “image” we actually, desperately need right now.

I really am disgusted.

Couldn’t agree more. At this point, we need conservatism articulated. This to me isn’t a campaign ad. Americans aren’t interested in the next elections at this point. They would like to hear an alternative to the crap coming from D.C.

This is a ticket that is really appealing to me right now.

I always hoped that if we looked for strong conservative ideals in a leader, that we wouldn’t be shallow to also require that leader to be some flashy performer. Our current president was elected largely on the basis of such reasons and we balk at all his show and no substance. We need someone who can inspire, but not reduce the office of president by placing an exphasis on ones showmanship. Give me someone who can articulate good, conservative solutions, an unflappable nature and a strong understanding of history and foreign relations.

Newt is history. But lots of people say we need substance over style. The thing is, we can have someone who has both; but the ther MSM attack becomes so savage because such a person would inspire such fear, loads of conservatives would buckle under the pressure and join in the pile on. Not only Palin, but any conservative who “clicks” and has a shot at winning.

Palin is obviously far more substantial than you want to believe. But yep, style means a lot. Obama has a sycophantic media, and he’s pretty good in front of the cameras and with a teleprompter. Running yet another boring guy (which will probably happen in 2012) just means that another boring guy is going to get pummeled, I don’t care how many degrees he has after his name.
