White House: Bow? What bow?

I really wasn’t going to write about this again, mostly because I was convinced that the national media had let Barack Obama off the hook completely for his tradition- and protocol-breaking bow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. However, Ben Smith reports that the White House has now been asked about it, thanks to a Washington Times editorial scolding Obama for the move — and that they’re denying it ever happened:
The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.
“It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The Washington Times called it the alleged bow a “shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate,” and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty. The Weekly Standard, meanwhile, noted, that American protocol apparently rules out bowing, or at least it reportedly did on the occasion of a Clinton “near bow” to the Emperor of Japan.
Interestingly, a columnist in the Saudi-backed Arabic paper Asharq Alawsat also took the gesture as a bow, and appreciated the move.
No bow? You tell me. Obama’s a lot taller than Queen Elizabeth, too, so compare the two greetings for yourself:
Note also that this shows clearly that Obama did not “grasp [Abdullah's] hand with both hands”; Obama’s left hand is in plain view, on his left leg, as he executes the deep-waisted bow.
Will the media finally report this, as Ben Smith did, now that the White House is trying to deny the obvious and rewrite history? Or will they continue to sit silently while Obama tinkles on their heads and calls it rain? (also thanks to HA reader Geoff A)

Looking at the picture on Drudge, if Obama had bowed over any more, he would have fallen over. They only alternate explanation with any possible credibility would be that Obama was showing the king his pee-pee.
Obama makes Nixon an LBJ both look like Honest Abe by contrast.
As I have said previously, Obama and his administration are shaping up to combine the very worst traits and characteristics of all previous Presidents and administrations and he has not even been President for 3 months yet. One stop shopping. They have got it all.

What makes it much worse then even your reason is that the propaganda value for a non-US audience is exactly why he bowed. This is part of the whole sweet submission to Islam project coming from the WH. He thought he could get away with it, as with all his other unilateral moves, and he almost did.
If Obama could have had a private photo session with Annie Liebowitz instead, and knew it would only be seen in the Muslim world, he could have been convinced to pose like this on the king’s lap.

To bow down before someone indicates two things. First it is a sign of honor and respect. It is recognition of the greatness of the one before whom you bow. Second, it is a sign of submission. By bowing before a king you are saying that he is greater than you are (you are the one bowing) and that your life is in his hands and under his power (you can’t defend yourself with your face to the ground).

You can see quite plainly in both clips that Obama DID NOT clasp the king’s with both of his hands until AFTER he completed the bow.
As he comes up from the bow, you can see his left hand come up as well to give the two hand clasp.

So we’re clear, the first excuse (from supporters) was that he was “picking something up off the floor”. This was clearly bogus, as the video you post shows his hand didn’t leave his side or reach for the floor in the least. Then the White House is forced to offer its own defense, and they say he was using both hands to grasp the hand of a shorter man, which is proven wrong both by the excuse of supporters, because we know he didn’t use his left hand, as well as the video, again, showing he didn’t use his left hand.

I have been pondering all this a little further.
When Bush held hands with a Saudi King, although it sure did look weird, it was as equals, both were doing the same thing, just as with shaking hands.
I could see Obama, or some other President doing a quick very slight head bow to say a Japanese Prime Minister, with the Japanese Prime Minister doing likewise, again equals.
Even in the military although the lower ranking person salutes first, the higher ranking one returns the salute, so not equals but at least reciprocity.
With Obama, however, he did an almost bend over to the point of falling over (any further and a secret service agent would have had to have tried to grab him by the back of his belt/pants to keep him from landing on the Saudi King’s @ock) and the Saudi King (and Saudi Arabia always should have been part of the “Axis of Evil” to top it all off) did not even return the bow at all.
Obama is an absolute disgrace to his office, to the U.S. Constitution and to America and it is still by no means certain that he even met the Constitutional requirements to be President.
I hope that all officers in the U.S. military are rereading their oath of office and pondering just how seriously they take it.

As I said, Bush was stupid for behaving how he did with the kiss and holding hands, but at others stated, it was as EQUALS. I still don’t like it, but it is what it is. BUT YOU’RE LYING ABOUT THE BOWING, AS IS THE CONTINUAL DOUCHE CHARLES JOHNSON. Whenever anyone receives a medal, YOU LOWER YOUR HEAD. It’s not a bow. You can’t argue this, unless you lie.
But again, Obama bowing, as disgraceful as it is, is NOT THE POINT. I want you to attempt to prove the White House isn’t lying when they say he wasn’t bowing, but trying to use 2 hands to grasp a shorter man’s hand. Do you think you can prove that the White House was telling the truth?
If you can’t prove that, will you be honest enough to say “Obama’s White House is flat out LYING”? I know being a liberal requires that you be an insanely dishonest person, but do you even have enough of a fraction of honesty that you must have to admit that the “2 hands” excuse is nothing but a complete lie?
