I have a feeling (and so do a lot of others it seems) that the world isn’t going to let Barry gain his feet. Carter had that problem. Everytime he tried to stand up he was told to sit back down….and did.

There is no one to stop him. The world has changed. Everyone believes that they are ‘owed’ something. They don’t want to work for it, they will take it from those that work and are more successful than they are. I’m afraid this country is going to have a ‘Come to Jesus’ moment or it will cease to exist.
HotAir contributors, please ignore the trolls and vow not to respond to the childish rantings, subhuman intellect and other rantings of the insane, from this day forward!
It really doesn’t matter whether New York drives every profitable entity out of town. They’ll just lower the threshold of tax contributors, until everyone becomes a “battery” in the Matrix.
At that point, when everything is truly bankrupt and they’re sinking fast, Congress (not Progress) will step in and declare that New York is “too big to fail”.
We’ll all pay for it in the end, even Rush and Neil. After all, it’s the New American Way World Order.

What are the ages of these trolls on this comment blog? I was taught to ignore chilish behavior and not give it an audience. Why would anyone bring up physical or emotional problems someone has had in the past? Where is the intelligent debate about principals or policy? I have tried to read KOS and Huffpo but the childish name calling and the desire to out gross the last commenter makes it unreadable. Please don’t let them drag our cogent and timely blog down to that level.

It can’t be stopped for some reason. We’ve just about implored Allah and Ed to ban these people becuause it is obvious they don’t debate or engage in thoughtful discussion, they just insult and antagonize but they are allowed to remain. So how long before it becomes unreadable…

Why should they really? With Bush they knew what would happen if they pressed too far. We had enough safety after 9/11 that everyone forgot what it was to be unsafe. It seems surreal that this man was elected after the US was attacked like that on our own soil. Now they know if they push they might get a stern lecture. Obama saves his harshest words for Bush so no one really has to worry about pushing Obama around.
It doesn’t make any difference who they attack if they make the thread unreadable and chase away our intelligent posters. I don’t want to be one of the people who acts like a hall monitor, I just want our folks to come back.

I find myself spending a lot less time on Hot Air altogether these days. I usually don’t mind trolls all that much but these last few weeks they seem to have become very successful at hijacking the threads. And they do not even need to be original or display any sign of intelligence to do it, either.
NY and California are the obvious examples but many states will be required to raise taxes to offset significant under contributions to govt pension plans. Around 60% of pensions are under funded. At some point this will be added to the tax burdens of all Americans.
Against this backdrop, Obama is proposing unsustainable levels of spending. We are approaching the precipice and this guy wants to go on a spending spree and try social experiments. In the very near future massive tax burdens will be required to be carried by all keep these programs going.
At present we have $56.4 TRILLION of current unfunded government liabilities. To give this perspective the US’s annual GDP (gross domestic product is ~$14 Trillion)!!! Your individual current share of the debt is only $184,000.

Wow, that’s a switch. You go from calling me a b#tch to saying God Bless You. Did God talk to you like he did George Bush?
capitulus on April 8, 2009 at 11:50 PM
No,he talks to God the way Obama does when he is not chanting “God Dam# America”,and supporting Black separatist theology that calls for the genocide of the White race.
By the way, an alert reader spotted this exchange from Barack Obama’s January interview with Beliefnet.com:
Q: Is it difficult in the rough and tumble of campaign politics to stick to that, to live out your faith? And can you talk about whether you have a favorite prayer or what you pray about?
Obama: The prayer that I tell myself every night is a fairly simple one: I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that my sins are forgiven, that my family is protected and that I am an instrument of God’s will. I’m constantly trying to align myself to what I think he calls on me to do.And sometimes you hear it strongly and sometimes that voice is more muted.
(OOOOHHHH MMMMMYYYYYY GOOOODDDDDD!!!,did he say he is an instrument of God’s will?,Ruuuunnnnn from the Crusader,Run awwwwaaaayyyy!!!)
God even tells Obama that gay marriage is wrong:
The difference, Mr. Obama has told them, is religion.
As a Christian — he is a member of the United Church of Christ — Mr. Obama believes that marriage is a sacred union, a blessing from God, and one that is intended for a man and a woman exclusively, according to these supporters and Obama campaign advisers.
OBAMA:Yep. Every week. 11 oclock service.
Ever been there? Good service.
I actually wrote a book called Dreams from My Father, it’s kind of a meditation on race. There’s a whole chapter on the church in that, and my first visits to Trinity.
GG:Do you pray often?
OBAMA:Uh, yeah, I guess I do.
Its’ not formal, me getting on my knees. I think I have an ongoing conversation with God. I think throughout the day, I’m constantly asking myself questions about what I’m doing, why am I doing it.
Obama has ongoing conversations with God!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another crazy, knuckle dragging heathen from the backwoods of
Chicago.
You would have to be a real stupid redneck to vote and support such a crazy Jesus loving, banjo playing, bible thumper like Obama.
Oh…..Barry is gonna try his damnest to upset the boat but if these first three months are any indication his own crew can’t figure out how to help him. Rice can’t even get the UNSC to say ‘bad-boy’ to lil’Kim. Hillary wants to talk to women beaters(and worse). Timmy can’t decide if Marvin Gardens is worth more then Boardwalk. Pelosi and Reid are running the Hill like Abbot and Costello. Keep the faith because The Crew seems brain dead.
Honestly, I see next Wednesday as a turning point. Most of us will be out there, we will be in large numbers, and we will see that we are truly the silent majority. Maybe then, we will see our numbers and find our stones and fight for our country. I live in a blue state. I’ll just go to Texas.
I tend to agree that Pres. Obama is destined to be very Carter-like but the difference is will any one know. We would probably have better luck getting the scope by reading foreign media. They may think he is cool but they have their own self interests at heart. Here he is our media’s self interest.
Lucianne gets rid of trolls pronto. And their moderator always warns “responding to another post is considered CHAT and CHAT is not permitted here.” Lucianne I think feels there are plenty of liberal targets out there without eating your own. And you better sit up straight when visiting. It’s worth a visit for intelligent opinion in the comments without the trolls or two people talking to each other for pages.

Almost 3 years here at HA now, and it’s not 1/10th the fun it used to be.
AP, Ed, for the love of God do something to elevate the level of discourse in your threads. It’s become an embarassment. Time was when AP was quick(er) with the ban, mostly for the way comments were reflected back upon Michelle in other forums. What was good for Michelle was great for the site. Informative and interesting. Now many of the interesting commenters don’t bother any longer, and the crapfights have taken over.
I wish the tax day deal was on a weekend. Does anyone worry about the folks from ACORN going to a rally, acting like a horse’s patoot and being labeled as a conservative?
Cindy Munford on April 9, 2009 at 12:10 AM
We’ll know who they are and trust me I’ll shout them down and point them out for the fools they are. Oh and Jerry, I’m willing to take the next step.
I was a bit surprised at my daughter’s visceral dislike of our new fearless leader. I guess I was a little surprised that she was even halfway aware but to learn she has a real grasp of what’s going on was rather heartening.
A little lean on employment right now. I work for Cessna…for now. Maybe if the CEO’s of the automakers hadn’t gotten so much crap for flying on their own purchased private jets, it wouldn’t have gotten so bad.
A fight is what they are looking for. I think they will try to tag these the same way they did McCain/Palin rallies. These tea parties should be about the veering away from the Constitution, but they will be played as anti-Obama protests.
I just don’t see where it will end. I mean, the kids are in charge and they have Dad’s credit card.
I think it will end when three things happen:
1) The Obama administration poll numbers approach 50%. That probably means that his poll numbers are significantly lower in some more conservative states that happen to have a Democrat in the House and Senate.
2) Moderate Democrats from the Midwest and south begin to feel that it is more dangerous to side with the liberal Congressional leadership than vote with Republicans
3) Large cities and liberal states are shown to the average Joe or Jane be fiscally irresponsible and reliant upon the rest of the country to bail them out.
If we don’t make significant headway in 2 years it is all over and we will measure success in degrees of European socialism.
Tea Parties are the clearest voice of displeasure we can send our representatives. A massive turnout across the country would be a good first start.
I know getting into it with craptilus was wrong but sometimes you have to call them out when they become personal in their demeaning comments. I don’t care when DMTH or Ernesto come on and debate with us. They’re wrong, but their hearts are at least in it.
They have zoos for that sort of thing. If we work really hard we might get someone who is your intellectual equal for you to spar with. I may go back in the vault during the primaries, a walk down memory lane when a lib was a lib instead of an idiot.

You are 100% right and restraint would allow for a better thread.
After the last 8 years of lying, selling out our country and stabbing our Soldiers in the back by liberals for political gain,I just can’t stand them.
……. I’m having trouble with your toleration of the trolls hammering Rush, in some of the most vile, hate filled, vitriol, mean, disrespectful, and prejudicial attacks that I have no doubt they copied and pasted to their favorite sites, (“tee-hee, look what I did”)
…………….. and our playful gestures with a Star Trek character is a warning to be banned.
Yeah, it’s Michelle’s site, and she relies on your judgement……….
……….. I’m just questioning it.
Seven Percent Solution on April 9, 2009 at 12:25 AM
[Cindy Munford on April 8, 2009 at 11:50 PM]
Sure, I can. The trolls act to distract, just like the Code Pinko’s act to stop, say a conference or discussion by making it all about them and not the subject at hand. Are we, the participating audience supposed to ignore the shouting in the back or the ruckus in the front row because the monitors or the hosts of the event (which essentially is what each post is) don’t do squat to maintain order?
The essence of this post is Paterson driving taxpayers from the State of New York, high paying ones at that, and the discussion is mostly about Benny Shaker’s OT ad hominem about Rush’s past problem with prescription drug addiction.
If the hosts can’t maintain a minimal level of order it’s hardly worth participating and, as good as AP and Ed are in their posts, the strength of the site is the people who had collected here to comment and value was as much the discussion that ensued.
I know getting into it with craptilus was wrong but sometimes you have to call them out when they become personal in their demeaning comments. I don’t care when DMTH or Ernesto come on and debate with us. They’re wrong, but their hearts are at least in it.
FlyoverJ-HawkFan on April 9, 2009 at 12:23 AM
It was getting old quick. It was fun at first, but when you start dealing with them, instead of the subject at hand, it becomes a problem.
A fight is what they are looking for. I think they will try to tag these the same way they did McCain/Palin rallies. These tea parties should be about the veering away from the Constitution, but they will be played as anti-Obama protests.
Cindy Munford on April 9, 2009 at 12:21 AM
Good. Because it’s a fight I’m willing to give them. We have been appeasers for far too long. It’s time we give them a taste of their own medicine. This is not about the media thinking we are a bunch of white racist bitter gun clingers. This is becomming all too real. Even for the ones we rail against the most.
A guest in someone’s home, repeatedly crapping on the floor while other guests are trying to have a conversation, merely gets warnings from the host and is free to continue soiling the carpet. Soon the offender actually flings the crap at the other guests and is still only issued more warnings. Crap, fling, warning. Crap, fling, warning. Crap, fling, warning.
Where does it end? Apparently with more warnings – that’ll fix everything…well, except for the other more reasonable and responsible guests reluctantly leaving the stinky place. Hmmmm, there must be some other option; something obvious, something as close as the poop splattered on the furniture…perhaps a kind of hammer.
I just watched to Rick Sanchez clip below for the first time, all the way to the end. You have Sanchez and a Media Matters representative ganging up on a poor Conservative fella. The end is priceless. Sanchez states to the effect “You have this FoxNews whipping up the public into a frenzy against our President! Shameful!” and Media Matters guy is nodding. Conservative fella then states “You mean like CNN and MSNBC the last eight years?” How that wasn’t Quote of the Day I can’t figure. Sanchez turned ghost white.
In the early Soviet State, and since, many of the Left screamed “Get out, you will not follow us into the future!”. Then, pathetically, later they begged for even the meanest of capitalist advantages, like washers and dryers and decent cars.
They all have been the same. Soviets, Cuba, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, South Africa, China. How tiresome.
First to convert or expel, then turning on their own to destroy. Here we have the Government driving out those who pay for all, Capitalists who are not willing to be looted from.
.
If I am wrong, where are the lines of Liberals willing to move to New York to pay the higher Taxes? Why are they not on CNN declaring their solidarity with NY? Trump, Limbaugh, how many more? Liberal answer is to suck more life blood out of an ever smaller circle of Capitalists. When those leave too? What is next, build a wall?
Thanks Hornet,

Carbon’s apologizing tour, so to speak?
We should throw the trolls over the side of the ship. Don’t mess with the U.S.!
It’s the moderators’ job to maintain order. Why should I bother to come here if they aren’t going to maintain order? Do you go to the theater where the owners don’t bounce the talkers and popcorn throwers? You going to let your friend talk you into going by saying “let’s promise each other to pay them no mind”?
Why go to a variety of events when you know 80% of your time is going to be spent watching another rendition of “Don’t Taze me, Bro” rather than on the purpose of the event? Sure it’s a novelty the first time and cute the second time. But when you know the guy’s going to be at every event and the host does nothing about it, you quit going to the events.
Suck it up, remember the 1st amendment and hypocrisy. If we can’t handle the trolls on a website we are in no position to handle anything other than our privates.

That was dumb. I am not the government and neither is Hot Air. Next you’ll be telling me they have the right to hold their conversations in my living room or I’m censoring them.
I look at the trolls a little differently, a bit like expecting government to do what you won’t or can’t do yourself. The problem here with trolls is they are fed. While it would be easy for AP or Ed to ban them there will always be more. If the participants here can use the willpower not to take them on, the trolls are going to starve and look elsewhere to be fed. I understand people get frustrated but I believe it can be done without administrative intervention, so to speak =)

A fight is what they are looking for. I think they will try to tag these the same way they did McCain/Palin rallies. These tea parties should be about the veering away from the Constitution, but they will be played as anti-Obama protests.
Cindy Munford on April 9, 2009 at 12:21 AM

Good. Because it’s a fight I’m willing to give them. We have been appeasers for far too long. It’s time we give them a taste of their own medicine. This is not about the media thinking we are a bunch of white racist bitter gun clingers. This is becomming all too real. Even for the ones we rail against the most.
FlyoverJ-HawkFan on April 9, 2009 at 12:27 AM

The man just doesn’t know when to stop. I can’t believe with the giant economic crisis looming ahead he is adding another thing to the plate. It is like watching a toddler take the steering wheel, you know this is all going to crash.
