Crapitulus is a woman? Well, that would explain a lot.

FlyoverJ-HawkFan on April 8, 2009 at 11:18 PM

Sometimes crapper’s a woman, and sometimes it goes to its “summer home with the missus.” I’d say angry lezzie and schizo — not as uncommon as you’d think.

hawkdriver on April 9, 2009 at 8:46 AM

However, what is the point?

People have been leaving California for years. Now, I suppose they will start to leave New York too. The Democrats will just have to get their taxes from someone else.

[Terrye on April 9, 2009 at 6:57 AM]

They’ve already figured that out. Get it from the Federal Government. Where Rush lives, or any person for that matter, slowly becomes an irrelevancy.

The trend from a Republic of 50 states to one of a central government with state government being mere administrators of the central government essentially makes where you live moot for all things other than geography and climate.

——–

The effect of this mass migration is that the folks come to red states and aren’t happy until they have made them exactly like the blue states they just left. It’s hard to listen to new comers tell you that you suck, when all your life you thought home was just great.

Cindy Munford on April 9, 2009 at 7:05 AM

Of course. To a great degree everyone tends towards wanting something for nothing, and that doesn’t exclude those of conservative or libertarian bents. The difference, though, is in what is wanted. In the political arena, with the absence of Constitutional safeguards, conservatives and libertarians have to pay to be left alone. It’s a fact of life now.

I don’t mean to suggest that paying always requires doing it monetarily and certainly not as that of paying a bribe. Contrarily, I’d offer that that method has the least return. More important, it means political involvement directly and, barring that desire, at least constant public involvement in the political sphere.

As people leave California and New York many will be conservatives and libertarians who have done the internal calculations and decided that they can get more “left alone” without paying more in either money or effort to get or keep it. Many others, however, will be democrats, socialists, and communists, who have done their internal calculations and decided that they can get more from society via government with less effort in money or effort to get it.

Romney or Sanford would be hired in a second to run a multi-million (Romney Billion) dollar company yet they are going to be a VP for the less qualified Palin? ROFLMAO!

Palintologists are delusional beyond all reality.

Poptech on April 9, 2009 at 7:46 AM

And yet the smart Mark Sanford waits for the hillybilly from Alaska to make a move and then copies everything she does.

promachus on April 9, 2009 at 8:57 AM

This must be bothering the trolls big time. They only come out in large numbers when a subject threatens them. Anyone who gets audited by the State years after year, would be foolish not to leave as quickly as possible. Other states will welcome him and his tax money.

jeanie on April 9, 2009 at 8:59 AM

The only real solution for the “trolls” is to ignore them; completely 100% ignore them… These creatures crave attention, and feed off negative attention. I know it’s hard, as I fight the desire to engage with such foolish trash also.

Literally hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have already moved out of State; many of which have made Florida their new home over the past decade or so. Problem is these folks take themselves with them wherever they go. Migration has it benefits, as well as it’s negatives.

All one has to do is look at New York, Michigan, & California to see if Liberalism works or not.

Obama will take the entire country and make it look like those three states. It really is that simple. April 15th is coming quickly, and the people will speak by way of peaceful demonstrations across this country. The revolution has begun. I can only hope all citizens will participate and fight to keep this Democracy….

Smokers are the one of the few groups that people are encouraged to be rude and ugly to while making plans on curing the nation’s ills by taxing their habit. I never took it up but they have my sympathies for the discrimination heaped on them.

And yet the smart Mark Sanford waits for the hillybilly from Alaska to make a move and then copies everything she does.

promachus on April 9, 2009 at 8:57 AM

Sanford has not copied a single thing Palin has done:

Accomplishments:
- Spent more than $50,000 in city funds to redecorate her office as Mayor of Wasilla
- Increased Spending by 55% as Mayor of Wasilla
- Secured $27 million in Federal Earmarks as Mayor of Wasilla
- Raised the Sales Tax by 25% as Mayor of Wasilla
- Racked up $20 Million in Long Term Debt as Mayor of Wasilla
- Supported building the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ as Governor of Alaska
- Kept $223 Million in Federal Earmarks for the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ as Governor of Alaska
- Increased Spending by 31% as Governor of Alaska
- Requested $456 Million in Federal Earmarks as Governor of Alaska
- Alaska’s State Economic Freedom Ranking Dropped from 33 to 45 as Governor of Alaska
- Alaska Ranked 48 out of 50 as one of The Worst States for Business as Governor of Alaska
- Raised Taxes on Oil Profits to 25% as Governor of Alaska
- Requested $642 Million of Federal Stimulus Money as Governor of Alaska

Palin actually copied Sanford:

S.C.’s Sanford makes it official, rejects $700 million stimulus (Associated Press, March 17, 2009)

Dumb Palintologists are so frickin delusional.

Poptech on April 9, 2009 at 9:44 AM

Palin copied Sanford because she doesn’t have the education to make economic decisions like this:

S.C.’s Sanford makes it official, rejects $700 million stimulus (Associated Press, March 17, 2009)
Palin rejects over 30% of stimulus money (Anchorage Daily News, March 19.2009)

Keemo on April 9, 2009 at 10:24 AM

Just when the trolls had fallen asleep, someone prods one of them and out they pop with a boatload of resume’s. Who cares?
Rush does love Palin. She was and is still the only true Conservative from last years’ line up. No one else lives their lives or governs as one. She has a track record. Not saying that Sanford doesn’t, but he certainly isn’t as carismatic as Palin. I do like Bobby Jindal, but he is the one that needs to get more experience, not Palin. If he can clean up Louisiana, then he will certainly be a contender in the future. Looks like he is also walking the walk and talking the talk. He is impressive, but needs more marinating time.
Rush is not in the king making business. He never makes a commitment to backing anyone. He can’t do that until after the conventions. He is a Conservative, not a Republican. He has explained many times why he does not consider himself a Republican. Anyone that actually listens to him knows that.
As for him leaving NY, go and make a big deal about it. Others will follow. When the rest of NY has to watch their money going down the tubes for nothing and crime and misery takes over, people will be looking for some relief. It will be interesting to see how far NY has to decline before they realize that they have been had. Probably a good, long time.

Hi Pop. So glad you and Cap are spending all your time on google and pasting to Hotair. You could be out there in the doing something productive, like, say, supporting something instead of pushing your hate onto people you will never convince? You apparently missed class the day that techniques of persuasion were discussed. Even Cloward and Piven understood that you cannot convince the masses by directly disrespecting their staunchly held beliefs.

Limiting or editing the facts will only cause the faithful to dig deeper to discover them. You are actually promoting Palin-love, like a burr under the saddle that promotes an itch. So you can keep up the good work, and we’ll either ignore you or dig for the facts (like the long list of Palin’s successes that you notoriously neglect) and continue to admire Palin as a successful business woman and Governor. Or you can find a different hole to dig. Your choice.

The Better Half is in Virginia, struggling with contractors. My goal is to come up with an sign that will get noticed at MM’s site or Instapundit. I am not as concerned about safety as I am about one of these plants doing something totally crazy and have it attributed to conservatives. Like a nasty sign or shouting things that we would never say. Remember how the McCain/Palin events were labeled as “hate” rallies. I think the same thing is going to be tried with these.

Cindy Munford on April 9, 2009 at 11:29 AM

God bless you, Rush.

I’m a New Yorker living in Westchester County where taxes are pretty stiff. I make a good living, not near the 300,000 mark,… but not all that far away from it either.

My wife and I have played with the idea of leaving NY if things get worse… which they will under the Dems. …And I have to say, it breaks my heart. I was born in NYC, I have always lived in NY, and I do so love this state. My church of the last 15 years- which in my opinion, is the best church on the planet- is in NY, and it crushes me to think of leaving it. I have seen children born, and people die, and it has become closer to me than some in my own family.

But if things get worse, I may be leaving. The one up-tick is that many in my church feel the same way, and there has been some half-joking that a group of us will leave together.

…Which is a half-serious thought as well.

…We’ll see.

I totally agree. I glanced at the 1st page and that’s about all I can handle. It seems as though HotAir commenters enjoy engaging juvenile Leftist trolls.

I hoped to read some interesting comments/insight on state taxes, unfair auditing, etc…, but again idiots, and idiots who engage them, overrun the comment section.

HotAir probably thinks they get more comments by allowing this, but they are probably getting LESS comments (and in turn less hits).

Why allow the Left to control and destroy what used to be a great site for conservative discourse?

nottakingsides on April 9, 2009 at 12:36 PM

What the hell has happened to HotAir?

It used to be one of the premier political sites on the net. Even Rush would site articles. Now it’s nothing more than a “who can piss the farthest” contest.

I’ll come by from time to time to scan the articles, but until you guys can rid yourself of the maggots that have infested this great site, I’m afraid I’ll have to go over to MM’s site for any actual conservative commentary.
