Nutroots bloggers whine: Democratic groups won’t advertise on our sites!
posted at 9:35 pm on April 8, 2009 by Allahpundit
In which I join with my nutroots jackass brethren. File this one away for the next time you hear some lefty snark about “wingnut welfare.” And let the blog money flow!
“Most want the easy way — having a big blogger promote their agenda,” adds Markos Moulitsas, the founder of DailyKos. “Then they turn around and spend $50K for a one-page ad in the New York Times or whatever.” Moulitsas adds that officials at such groups often do nothing to engage the sites’s audiences by, say, writing posts, instead wanting the bloggers to do everything for them.
The behind-the-scenes tensions go to the heart of the role these bloggers have created for themselves in Democratic politics — they’re basically advocates and operatives with big platforms — and their future role, too. They argue that their efforts and fundraising helped drive the Democratic ascendancy. Yet even the Dem party committees are reluctant to advertise with them, raising the question of whether the party will ever be willing to seriously invest long-term in this new media infrastructure.
“We don’t invest in the future, and Republicans do,” says John Aravosis, the founder of AMERICAblog. “The party committees really get that we can be effective as their partners and that we’re happy to help, and they take advantage of that. But even so, very little ad money comes from them. It’s more than just wanting to share in the spoils. We are small business-people who are fighting to survive economically in a really bad year.”
Really, Aravosis? Republican blogs are way ahead in the money game? I encourage HA readers to e-mail Michael Steele and make John’s prediction a reality. Michelle isn’t willing to sell out but I am. Pay my rent, Republican movers and shakers! We’re fighting to survive, too. A pro-FMA post is just a thousand-dollar donation away.

Somehow I just couldn’t bring myself to tell my husband why I was laughing so hard at the Ace of Spades aticle…too funny… especially thinking of Allah trying that :)

I think many elected democrats just don’t really want to be associated with the nut-root leftist bloggers. Dems like to paint themselves as moderate to voters while they wink to the leftist nut-roots. They are afraid to advertise because they never know what silly thing these extreme leftists might write next and they don’t want to be associated with that. Dems must pretend to be something they are not in order to win elections. The nut-roots know the dems share their anti-captialist socialist ideas but the politicians know that advertising at the DailyKos et al. would be as good as an admission that they do.

I believe, if memory serves, that Markos was in the Army, during peace time, in the Air Defense Artillery and was stationed in Germany, both considered to be very cushy duty.

Awww.
Whores get paid, Allah.
Markos and his kind are simply sluts.
Why would you bring them wine, chocolates, and roses when you know they’ll strip and let you do anything you want to them (figuratively, yes, and perhaps literally in some cases) whenever you like?
Wanderlust on April 9, 2009 at 12:34 AM
MB4, I think the technical term for Markos’ billet was a REMF…

Can’t Daily Kos dipshits like Capitulus send in cereal box tops or something?

Somehow I get the feeling that it would be counter-productive to the cause for the RNC to pay the rent of godless evolutionists.
Here. Try this: http://www.work-home-google.com/

It’s always fun when reality intrudes on a lefty’s utopian dreams, but I can’t remember enjoying it quite this much. The angrier they get, the angrier they’re going to get.

Right on.
Liberals tend to look down on the need to work and actually provide value for their customers because philosophically this is capitalism and they have a gut-wrenchin feeling about this due to them being funded by government such as:
Grants for study
Teachers in public systems
Union members
Welfare
Social workers paid with government funds
This also explains some of the negative reaction to people like Sarah and Todd and others like them who actually work hard to get where they are not through handouts but the crucible of capitalism which reveals the true level of character and professionalism.
Businessmen should be recognized as a respected vocation like much of the history of America. When we shoot our businesspeople we shoot ourselves.
I have not got around to reading “Atlas Shrugged” but isn’t the Galt character a businessman?
Marcos needs to read that book and others about how to focus your business on creating wealth and value rather than whining.
Basically, DKOS spews hate. Find the market of potential customers that get value from putting adds on their hate sites.

Kos is such a woman.
Actually, I take that back…I don’t want to offend my sex.
But, that picture of him is perfect for his intolerable, infantile, dramatic wheezing.
Mommypundit on April 9, 2009 at 6:00 AM
Perhaps Kos forgot that readable content attracts readers… I think in my time blogging I only linked to dKos once, and that was for post-Katrina pictures.
If he really cared about ‘small businesses’ he would advocate lower taxes on them and less regulation to keep them from becoming big businesses and getting rid of the corrupt corporate stranglehold on markets and bringing competition to them.
But that is a 19th century liberal perspective, not a 21st one stuck in the ‘Progressive’ 20th venue.
But a readable product would be a great start!
No one is stopping you from running a classy outfit and getting a readable product.
Really!

Kos and other sites are suppose to be generating revenue for the politicians, not the other way around. I thought they got that.

Ugh. Please don’t quote John Aravosis, AP. Especially this early in the morning. I almost upchucked my bagel.
Aravosis is just one shade away from Sullivan with his special brand of gay mommy-issues woman-hating. I wouldn’t want to advertise on his blog, either. Blargh.

They used these left-tards and now will throw them under the bus.
They plan to have millions of illegal voters and welfare voters and other moochers and census cheats, so they don’t need these online ‘tards anymore.

So conservative bloggers are scum because we’re all bought out by evil industrialists and conservative influence peddlers. But liberal industrialists and liberal influence peddlers are scum becaue they’re not buying out the liberal bloggers.
I’m a conservative. Where’s my money, already?

Exactly. Someone ought to explain the free milk and a cow parable to Kos here.
Something his gramma new when she was a little girl. Must be part of one of the many books Kos never read.
