Congressional Black Caucus hearts Castros

Leftists just don’t know when to stop. One can argue that the Cuban embargo has been a failure without trying to turn Fidel and Raul Castro into heroes. Unfortunately, the Congressional Black Caucus couldn’t figure that out, and instead beclowned themselves by fawning over the two men who have oppressed journalists and democracy activists for 50 years:
“The fifty-year embargo just hasn’t worked,” CBC Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Ca.) told reporters this evening at a Capitol press conference after returning from a congressional delegation visit to Cuba. “The bottom line is that we believe its time to open dialogue with Cuba.”
OK, that’s a defensible position. So far, so good …
“It was quite a moment to behold,” Lee said, recalling her moments with Castro.
Aaaaaand there we go down the rabbit hole.
Does she mean in the sense that meeting Joe Stalin would be? Unfortunately yes, although not in the sense that most free people would think. Nor was Lee the the only besotted participant:
“It was almost like listening to an old friend,” said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Il.), adding that he found Castro’s home to be modest and Castro’s wife to be particularly hospitable.
“In my household I told Castro he is known as the ultimate survivor,” Rush said.
How sweet! Did they by chance ask whether the Castros offer that kind of hospitality and friendship to people who just want to vote freely in open elections? Or do they get thrown into prisons and accused of treason for their desire to have a representative democracy run Cuba instead of a military junta serving the dictators who suckered them into the meeting?
Apparently not. Supposedly, Democrats stand for human rights, but these Democrats went to a nation with one of the world’s worst records on human rights — and talked about Barack Obama. They demanded an end to the embargo. Apparently, they didn’t bother to demand an end to oppression and to dictatorship, which gives an indication of the CBC’s priorities.
I wonder if they got autographs from the Castros, too.
Update: Greg Hengler has video of Lee defending the visit.

I don’t know why all these US politicians that love Castro so much haven’t packed up their stuff and moved there.

If Bobby Rush had his way, he’d run the US the same way Castro runs Cuba.
GarandFan on April 8, 2009 at 12:43 PM
This is what today’s Denver Post said, in its closing paragraph: “Lee’s delegation is sympathetic to Cuba, with most of its members openly praising the country’s communist government while decrying U.S. policy.” Nice.

Yeah they’re communist dictator groupies. And they are communists themselves. Castro is nothing more than a murdering thug.

The CBC fawning over a brutal Communist dictator who has tortured and murdered thousands of his political opponents while at the same time going nuclear over the prospect of water-boarding. Surely, there must be some mistake.

I always thought that CBC stood for Congressional Black Communists.

What I find reprehensible about this, are those who feel an eternal apology for slavery is a must…yet embrace, and adore a brutal regime, and seek that kind of government for this country. Communism equals slavery dunder heads. Just ask all those countries that warned, or advised Obama not to go down the path he’s currently going.
I also find this absolutely incredible. I grew up, before the cold war was over. We were taught that communism, and oppresion was evil, and the citizens of this country were to rail against it. Fight against it, and keep liberty strong, and our freedoms in tact. What the hell happened to that? Where did we go wrong?

Black liberation theology in action / stay classy black caucus – esp rush – what a POS that dude is. They are doing this with obama’s blessing, too.

Have you ever seen a face like Bobby Rush?…A face that simply says “I’m stuck on stupid.”

So, let me get this straight. These racist ingrates are now going to America’s sworn enemies and whining about being oppressed because of their skin color. These idiots are the epitome of affirmative action, they are certainly not up to the task of defending the United States and upholding the Constitution. They can barely complete a sentence without crying about supposed racism against them. Please spare me the details.
I am tired of hearing about the black caucus and the hispanic caucus….we are all Americans. Segrating yourself into these little groups IS racism at its core.
What more do they want? Americans went to the polls and they voted for the most inadequate, inept candidate ever. Ninety-six percent of black voters voted for Obama. If we have racism, I think they need to look in their own back yards. We have a half black man running the country, and doing it badly, I might add. He is the leader of the free world, what more do they want?
Traitors, all of them. I believe they should be put under citizen’s arrest the minute they land back in the U.S. and jailed for treason against the United States.

If you’re not aware, CBC Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Ca.) is a communist. I don’t say that to throw rocks. She worked for Ron Dellums when he was a Congressman, and he squired her into his seat when he left Congress. She has been a hard-left ideologue her entire career, and even write letters of glowing praise to Maurice Bishop, the communist insurgent who toppled Grenada, leading to our invasion and liberation of that country in 1983. She’s a leftist’s leftist, and has always been enamored of these SOBs — she’s always supported leftist dictators, from Daniel Ortega to Fidel Castro, from Hugo Chavez to Robert Mugabe.

I believe Barbara Lee also does not believe in owning personal property. She purchased a half million dollar house and then defaulted on it. Michelle did a whole expose on her last year. Pieces of work, all of them.
HornetSting on April 8, 2009 at 2:05 PM
We are all Americans, but for how long? At some point I fear you will see this once great country will fracture off into several smaller countries along racial and ethnic lines. Divisive acts such as the CBC help lead us down that path.
Rockshine on April 8, 2009 at 2:11 PM
These black caucus dummies. They should spend some time in a Latin American country and see how blacks are treated there. You think the N-word is bad, the words used in Cuba, Mexico, and the rest of Latin America would make Obama blush.
Hey, CBC, you think Castro is your friend, don’t you? So is Hugo Chavez, Putin, and the Chinese Communists. Yes, they would welcome a sizable black population in their midst. They have plans for you.
EMD on April 8, 2009 at 2:13 PM
Look, as with every “communist” I’ve ever read about or met, that whole communal property thing is for the little people, the masses — not for them!
EasyEight on April 8, 2009 at 2:14 PM
There will be a great white flight out of the cities as the crime rates go up, after which the urban economies will totally collapse and most cities will be left burning husks. It’ll be like the 70’s all over again, only 10000 times worse. After that, who knows? Perhaps some decent states will secede and offer islands of liberty, but that’s the best I can see. Affirmative action will be the death of this nation, as its done with our monetary system and economy. Sad, to see this end for such a pathetically stupid reason.

The Cuban Embargo is NOT the legacy of the never heard of before “Bush Doctrine” or any Republican’s legacy. Lest the MSM feign to forget, it was Jack Kennedy who set the Cuban Embargo. Even Jimmy Carter didn’t lift a finger to end the Cuban Embargo, choosing instead to deliver the fatted calf security of this entire hemisphere into the hands of unstable local governments (at the time in particular) to run the Panama Canal that WE built and maintained perfectly.
So I scoffed at Obama’s role-play AS IF BHO were the reincarnated JFK. Then I realized Obama’s “vision,” that AS the reincarnation of JFK, it falls specifically into Obama’s hands to rectify the KENNEDY MISTAKE(S). So now read on and listen to the MSM what I’ve surmised first.
Again, where is Caroline Kennedy these days, Obama’s potus godmother.
Since the racist Congressional Black Caucus prefers Castro’s Socialism to America’s Constitutional Government, please, MOVE ON DOT ORG. Go and enjoy the better life with a Communist Dictator than you enjoy leading your ignorant if not stupid constituents.
The ONLY ONES TO PROSPER under socialism are the party elite. So the Congressional Black Caucus are throwing their weight into the Communist Circle in order to become the slave masters over the rest of the world, at least over the United Socialist States of America (USSA).

Once again the black leadership shows that they hate whites more than they like blacks.

So easy to get rid of critics when a despot need only make the damning gesture.
The Mormon’s lived and learned that even under the threat of mortal repercussion following disobedience aligned with direct revelation from god, “their own peculiar form of communism” (accurately referenced as The United Order) FAILED.
Point being, the hard working, industrious and self sufficient Mormons renounced communism in favor of capitalism in order to permit everyone the opportunity to “prosper”.
Before arguing, morons may as well recognize that a revised historical record only retains as much meaning as a sieve holds water. Don’t argue as I repeat the hand written historical accounts. Accept that or take it up with those who endured the experience, wrote their journals and clerked for their church, who now RIP. Live and learn, but only a fool must learn from his own experience alone. Finally, idiots can’t even learn from experience given their self inflicted impediments, carrying live ammo chips on their shoulders while scratching each others’ backs.
So what lesson would the Congressional Black Caucus ever accept from the Mormon experience? /snark?

I gotta hand it to Limbaugh. For years I’ve called Cuba a giant prison, but Rush more accurately referred to it as a slave plantation today.
And these Dim Dems want to keep the slaves out in the fields.

I wonder what’s in it for their own personal profit. We all the know the Black Caucus does NOTHING without some personal profit of some kind.

Once again we see there is nothing democratic about the Democrat Party.
The extremist CBC has played their absolute moral authority card in denouncing human rights, democracy, and told all of America that they must submit to their godless rule.
The real outrage here is this is what America voted for. Damned publick skool edumakations!
