Video: Beloved ex-president gets rousing ovation at baseball game

posted at 5:55 pm on April 6, 2009 by Allahpundit

His approval rating’s somehow gotten worse since he left office, but no matter: In Texas he can do no wrong. Dubya’s used to that, though. Did you know that his job approval at the start of his first term was the most polarized by party in modern history? Oh, wait — I mean second-most polarized.

For the record, this isn’t the most enjoyable baseball-related story of the day. This is. Click the image to watch.

Rest easy, Mr. President. We’ll do all right. Don’t worry about us.

Just make sure you remember the following words back here in TX:

Conceal Carry
Castle Doctrine

If you remember those words, no Liberal maggot can hurt you. And yes, they WILL try.

He gave a good interview on the television side too. He said one of the things he’s missed most about not being a private citizen is that he can walk his dog, and he’s doing that now, plastic sack in tow.

Chad_ on April 6, 2009 at 6:05 PM

I miss him. And I don’t think his approval rating has changed one way or the other since he left office. I think a lot of these poll takers like to spike this stuff. In truth they are doing everything they can to blame him and shield Obama.

I have a feeling that may change in the near future. I liked and respected Bush when his approval rating was about 90% and I like and respect him now.

I didn’t agree with a number of his policies but I will say this.
He will be viewed by history in a far kinder manner than while in office.

Should I ever have the opportunity I would love to shake his hand and tell him that this Canuck appreciates what he tried to do.

Aftr saying something like this?

Al Jazeera’s Anita McNaught, reporting from Istanbul, said: “This was the address we had all been waiting for, it hit all the right notes.

“He talked about the contribution of the Islamic faith in the life of American Muslims and then he personalised that message by saying ‘I know because I am one of them‘. It was a message that reached out to many today.

Not bloody likely that He would go to a Baseball game, anyways, as he might have to eat a pork hotdog, to look like one of us proles….

MB4 on April 6, 2009 at 6:59 PM

The Big Zero will never accomplish one tenth of what Bush has. No matter how much the Democrats try to pin the financial meltdown on Bush and Republicans there is just too much proof and too many YouTube videos showing Democrats calling Repubs racist for trying to rein in Freddie and Fannie. Carter started this mess and Clinton exacerbated it. Wait ’till the Bush tax cuts end and everybody sees that refund disappear. I know so many people who use it to pay off christmas credit card purchases.

It makes me happy to see him received warmly…
