Gee Glen, methinks you do protest too much. Now you seem to be walking back with all your crazy talk. Like the one about Obama being a fascist, with a Nazi parade as a backdrop. What do you think that was suggesting ole wise one? Keep calling Obama a commie, a socialist, saying he wants to take your guns, a muslim, the Manchurian candidate. Think those tactics don’t have repurcussions with unstable people? Yes Glen, just keep fanning the flames against liberals and Democrats. No harm, no foul, huh?If Fox News keeps telling people that Obama will take your guns, the loons will believe it.
Our rights, our liberties, are granted from God. We possess them as an attribute of our humanity. Yes, ideally we should exercise these rights responsibly. BUT WE ARE ENTITLED TO OUR RIGHTS IRRESPECTIVE OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE.
RESPONSIBILITY is just another way that the over arching state exploits its citizens. My RIGHT to freedom of expression, freedom of contract, property and liberty are unbounded by so called “responsibilities” and any suggestion to the contrary is merely a prelude to despotism.

You must have had a tough eight years under Bush, watching your liberal brethren hyperventilate because Dubya was a Nazi, a Christian Taliban, the soon to be dictator. Think those tactics don’t have repercussions with unstable people?
Let’s ask the GOP office shooters and RNC convention molotov’ers what they think, shall we?
He talked about term limits. The president has term limits, many governors and other elected officials have them. The people who really need term limits are the people who are really destroying liberty and freedom in this country. i mean of course, Federal Judges. Limiting their terms would do more to save this county than limiting the terms of congress.

It worked for Thomas Paine.

Tommy_G on April 6, 2009 at 11:12 PM
Term limits for congress would also help. The term limits on judges though would be very tricky, as SCOTUS and the federal courts are supposed to be a check on executive and legislative power.
But for congress and senate: 12 years tops in combined service (2 senate terms, or 6 congressional terms. Note I said combined).
One thing I’d say – we should get better at getting our message out. Some people seem to buy that an anti-semitic copkiller is “conservative” or “right-wing”. But it’s almost a complete antithesis of conservatism. We need to get better at delivering the message of small gov’t, individual freedom, free markets, equal opportunity (but not results), etc.
If the “general public” truly understood conservatism they’d never consider the nutjob in Pittsburgh a conservative. They’d think he’s just a nutjob.
Eh, I’m not so familiar with artist’s style and sarcasm doesn’t always come over well in text. I can usually pick up on it easy enough without the tag but every now and then…

The number of sheeple in this country is shocking.
I was thinking along the lines of 9, 11 or 13 years for the terms of Federal Judges including the Supreme Court. Something that would transcend the term of the president and congress. It would seem to me that elections would take on a more important role.
Glenn makes one logical error …in his excusing Islam fpr the crimes of its believers.
Of course “Mein Kampf” was not literally “responsible” for the horrors of the Nazi regime, their bestialities in WW II, and the unique monstrosity of Holocaust (since, being only a book, it did not have limbs or a brain), but it was the ideological basis of these lunacies and cruelties, and, for that, deserves to be esxcoriated as a sick work from a sick mind… which motivated the brains and gave “inspiration” and strength to the limbs of the Hitler gang.
The “Koran”, likewise, may not literally be “responsible” for the acts of jihadist maniacs, but it, too, is the ideological fountain for their lunacies, atrocities, and unending assaults on our liberty and humanity.
Glenn is still in the excuse-ologist’s mode when it comes to his understanding and discussion of the playbook of Islamic Terror, “The Recitation” (al-Qur’an).
The “Koran” is a source of ideological malignancy, no matter how many of its Suras begin with the deceitful and absurd formula “Allah, the Most Compassionate...”
It is the Islam, Mr. Beck.
Time to actually read the book and not the soothing glosses.

I am afraid that if you allow more than one(1) term, they are corrupted by body to which they were elected. If there is too much money flowing it is because they figure out how to have money funneled into their coffers after the first term.
I vote for a single term, and then only one time, that way we,The People, aren’t burdened by all those wasteful pensions.
The sad thing is that Glenn shouldn’t even need to say any of this. Politicos of all stripes are raging, and I do think he’s right there will be a revolution. I just hope as he does its peaceful one.

Glenn Beck should take his rose colored glasses or contacts off. That is about as charitably as I can put it and I am having to grit my teeth to do that..
2:10 Disbelievers are diseased.
2:99 Disbelievers are evil people.
2:104 For disbelievers is a painful doom.
2:171 Disbelievers are deaf, dumb, and blind.
3:28 Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference of believers.
3:73 Don’t believe anyone who is not a Muslim.
3:48 Don’t be friends with non-Muslims. They all hate you and want to ruin you.
4:89 Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them.
4:63 Oppose those who refuse to follow Muhammad.
4:101The disbelievers are an open enemy to you.
4:144 Do not choose disbelievers as friends.
5:51 Don’t take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
5:51 Jews and Christians are losers.
5:60 Allah turned unbelievers into apes and swine.
5:59 Jews and Christians are evil people.
9:5 Slay the disbelievers wherever you find them.
Funny thing about Islam is, half of it has potential.
That is, the surat and ayat revealed to Muhammad during his time in Mecca. The surat and ayat that are of that time are rather tolerant and peaceful. This is where you find things like “There is no compulsion in religion” in Sura 2 al Baqara I do believe (off the top my head).
Then it turns nasty as the surat and ayat revealed to Muhammad in Medina turn intolerance, hatred, and violence.
As to the term limit comment, not all states have term limits on their Congressmen. God knows we in my home state wished Trent could have come home WAY before he was forced to retire!
It would be a huge shot in the arm if judges were not appointed for life and did have term limits. This is especially true regarding the latest rulings regarding GITMO.
Dittos on Beck going in the wrong direction concerning Islam, but not all Christians are extremists moonbats either, and I think his point was not all those who believe in Islam advocate the deaths of the entire world. Of course only 5% are for peace, but who is counting?
+2 on the no longer chatting at LGF. The Lizards have gone looney.
I hope that you all do not mind this was sent by relatives to me just today. It seems to fit here so I think I should share it with you all,its kind of long so I apologize for taking so much space. Subject: Darrell Scott…Columbine High
Guess our national leaders didn’t expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:
“Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.
“The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.
“In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent.
I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:
Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You’ve stripped away our heritage,
You’ve outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question “Why?”
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!
“Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational
systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs — politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA… They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.
“As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your
own heart before casting the first stone!
My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!”
Subject: Darrell Scott…Columbine High-verified the validity of this article.
Oh, I forgot, my right to keep and bear arms, to defend myself, my family and my community are in no way delineated, narrowed or diminished by Glen’s so called call for responsibility. My only restriction on my right to own weapons would be lawful restrictions by the states. Charles Martel on April 6, 2009 at 11:07 PM
It is unconstitutional for the states to pass any law that restricts your right to bear arms per the 2nd amendment (or any other amendment under the Bill of Rights.) The founding fathers made the Bill of Rights irrevocable.
Although states keep passing these stupid laws, no one ever challenges them all. Every state law that restricts the right to bear arms should be overturned by SCOTUS because of the 2nd amendment.
Report your neighbors because you think they’re a nutjob?!
I have never liked Glen Beck that much, but that idea is way over the top. Socialist idea, that. Dare I say Nazi-like.
Also, his shtick is annoying. The overly dramatic inflections and incredulous facials expressions… gimme a break. I don’t doubt his heart is in the right place, but it’s not my cuppa tea.
To add: Charles Johnson is a raving lunatic. He banned me from LGF for the high crime of asking him why every other post was about Creationism. Fuck him.
Little by little. A word here, a sentence there. By insinuations and accusations – they are coming for your guns.
Yes. Expect in the days to come to have gun murders and gun accidental deaths fill up the front pages of every major (failing) newspaper. Expect to have right-wing Americans be held to blame for these deaths. The media will seek to beat down the American people with anti-gun propaganda, hoping that when they kill the 2nd Amendment, the backlash against the politicians that push it will not be destroying their ugly careers.
Stock up on guns and ammo now. Then when you get them, get in plenty of target practice, then hide your stock. These are the last days for gun rights.
Gee Glen, methinks you do protest too much. Now you seem to be walking back with all your crazy talk. Like the one about Obama being a fascist, with a Nazi parade as a backdrop. Glenn Beck calls O’bunghole a NAZI because it’s the truth, YOU can lie all you want, it won’t change the FACT that O’bunghole’s platform and the NAZI Party Platform are the SAME. Apparently you didn’t pay attention in 7th grade world history, that’s YOUR fault. http://people.westminstercollege.edu/faculty/mmarkowski/H113/AH/platform.html
You seemingly haven’t been paying attention to the lies spouted from Washington by the O’bunghole admin, the ones saying 90% of guns in Mexican Cartel hands are from the U.S.
That 90% was actually 63 of 31,311 guns found in Mexico were actually BOUGHT in the U.S….OOOPS
Did you miss the speech O’bunghole gave at the U. of Chicago “The First and Second Amendments were obsolete soon after they were ratified.”? Did you miss HR 45, written by O’bunghole cohort, Bobby Rush D, IL, Rush who spent 9 months in an Illinois Prison on weapons charges in 1969 after Rush had deserted from the Army and founded the Illinois Black Panthers. O’bunghole supports HR45 and other gun bands.
Blaming Beck is the leftards way of utilizing Alinsky’s Rules. Beck as the target. They try to distract intelligent people away from the truth. Hope and change has wrought hopelessness and desolation.
About LGF and Charles Johnson. I blogged there since 2004, but recently something has changed. You can no longer disagree with Charles and not be deleted. He seems to have gone off the deep end regarding Creationism,Global warming and even to some degree criticism of Obama. I finally had enough and asked that my account be closed. He was happy to do it as I wasn’t in total agreement with his “beliefs.” The funny thing is I was really very passive and non-confrontational. It’s a pity because I used to enjoy the group there. Not anymore.

Both are still right.

Go Glenn! A good voice.

It has not been hijacked by “extremists, just put back on its original heading.

Sad.
