Video: TOTUS betrays POTUS; Update: Guardian goofs on the “great orator”

Surely one of the top five dumbest palate cleansers we’ve ever posted, but it’s simply too meme-tastic to leave it buried in Headlines. If he can’t count on TOTUS and he can’t count on his canvassers, surely he can still count on the average American voter, right? Hmmm:

Obama’s lowest approval number comes in response to his federal budget, which includes a substantial deficit. Only 42 percent agree with Obama’s budget while 45 percent disapprove…

In the minds of those surveyed, there’s little distinction between the bank bailouts of the past six months and the aid packages for the auto industry that were granted earlier this year. Only 34 percent of people think the administration is taking the right approach to help an ailing auto industry. A higher number (43 percent) objects to bailouts as an appropriate use of government money.

Newsweek’s naturally downplaying the degree of opposition. Check the crosstabs and you’ll see that there are actually three options on the bailout questions: taking the right approach, inappropriate use of government funds, and “is not doing what is needed to solve the problem.” Support for that last option is in the mid-teens; add it to those who are opposed to bailouts generally and you’re well over 50 percent who think The One’s on the wrong track. Click the image to watch.

Update: Where is the TOTUS here, anyway? I don’t see it at the podium. Is it one of those large-screen deals in the back like he had at the White House presser last week?

Update: A comedy double dip courtesy of, believe it or not, the Guardian. Inside Barry’s mind as the TOTUS goes dark…

pause [I'M IN WAY TOO DEEP HERE] … a regulatory system that was inadequate to the massive changes that have taken place in the global financial system … pause, close eyes [THIS IS GOING TO GO DOWN LIKE A CROCK OF SHIT BACK HOME. HELP]. I think what is also true is that … pause

This ACTOR is just embarrassing to America … It’s absolutely funny to watch this fool stumble around. How many goes at fooling the idiots to vote for him, before it is obvious their free stuff isn’t coming.

Liberals have got to be brain dead to vote for this …

tarpon on April 3, 2009 at 9:10 PM

Is it possible that getalife is really a good conservative, or at least a person with a real brain, but plays the part of koolaid drinker to try to show how moronic and slobbering some libs can be?

Four score and seven weeks ago I thumped Hillary in Iowa. Four score and seven days ago I bumped George out of his office. Today you sit on hallowed gound and I say…um…..let you eat cake!

(cue wild French applause)

Look carefully, the man literally moves his lips while he silently rereads to his lost place on the TOTUS text:

“The United States certainly shares its…
(jerks his head toward TOTUS)
(long pause)
(mouths a few words up to “shares”, finds where he got lost)
“…shares blame for what has happened.”

I never credited George Bush for being a competent speaker but he was nowhere near as utterly inarticulate as this Muppet.
Abraham Lincoln, my ass…

Crusty on April 3, 2009 at 9:07 PM

Maybe Bush didn’t loose his place on a teleprompter but he has sure said some asinine things, very coherently.

You know, now that I think of it, maybe getalife is Allahpundit. And this is how he drives up traffic. Seriously, maybe that would explain why getalife is still around at this point.

You’re a pathetic Ogabe shill who hasn’t waged, much less won, a single argument here.

It would be nice if Bama were just a naif, clumsily stepping on booby traps as he waltzs through the minefield.

I don’t think so. I agree with Krauthammer that Bama knows exactly where he wants to go, and his image as a naif is also true.

Bama seeks to reorder this country to something palatable to Alinsky, Ayres and Marx. That’s the goal. He knows how to do, between taxation and inflation, welfare dependence, blah, blah…the list goes on. Diss me and you are on the pitchforks, little man…I won, you know.

The naif part also rings true because the man is singularly insular. Never been anywhere, never done anything…but run for office…mostly without opposition. So, he is a naif who thinks a video IPod of his speeches is a treasure worthy of Elizabeth II. I fully admit, England is not what it was, and I don’t think there will always be an England, as it descends into terminal dhimmitude.

But, fer Chrissake, an IPod with your speeches on it?

Protocols…Bama thinks that is some kind of doctor. Dumber than a post and proud of it, which is not unusual…when you are so ignorant you don’t know how stupid you really are, you get really arrogant and proud.

Until someone kicks your butt and shows you your folly, that your self-approval rating of 100+% is not just unearned but ludicrous in the scheme of human events. I been there, done that, have the scars. Those, I am proud of.

I voted against the man, so don’t blame me, suckers.

And, prayers for the people in the gun-free zone in Binghamton NY. I was there for a month or so about 1994, a nice town. I used to run across the bridge near where the latest coward shot up a bunch of defenseless people. NY State gets accolades from the anti-self defense groups (Brady Campaign, Eric Holder and Hillary) but why are multiple-victim shootings ALWAYS

He reminds me of a guy on LGF, who likes to act like he sees nothing negative about Obama, and seems addicted to the bltch slapping he gets for every post.

When you read my arguments, they are not formed from listening to rush, fox news or drudge.

I give you the unvarnished truth, the reality of the situation, a no spin zone, if you will.

Original thinking without blind party partisanship, unclouded by ideology mindset and just an honest American Independent American real opinion.

I hope this puts the becker conspiracy theories to rest.

I guess they aren’t, since the murderer used a gun(s)…guess he didn’t read the sign at the door.

Disgusting. How many have to die before the Brady Campaign admits they are wrong? Like PETA, they kill and blame someone or something else.

Barnum was right, methinks.

Wait for the first really solid, total lack of recovery by Barry when TOTUS goes on strike. You know it’s bound to happen… A full 2 minutes of internationally critiqued “live” babbling that causes even the popcorn sales man to think it’s intermission at the movie house and that the cocaine addicted comedian is on stage making fart noises.

Chrissy Matthews will still get a little thrill no doubt, but the not so impressed foreign press may just pee themselves laughing.

Party ID
Republican 22
Democrat 41
Independent 32
Other/Don’t know 5

i found an amazing quote by hl mencken:

“The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” (Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26, 1920)

That’s hilarious. I like how his lips quiver moments before TOTUS rescues him. Was there ever a president so helpless without TOTUS?

Having read a number of your contributions, this comment brings to mind a comment by my father-in-law who, while a very accomplished man, has the least insight and self-awareness of anyone I have ever encountered. After a particularly spectacular display of a complete lack of self-knowledge, he said, “I practice no self-deception whatsoever.”

DrMagnolias on April 4, 2009 at 5:42 AM

About the 100th time he does this during his 1st and only term, we’ll have gotten used to it.

Until then, it’s going to be fun to watch him looking for that teleprompter.

manofaiki on April 4, 2009 at 6:58 AM

“They represented our country proudly.”

Are you kidding me? Please, if this is representation of our country, I want no part of it. I’ll take isolationism over this type of international representation any time of the day. He is truly showing how “Dumbed” down our population has become. Getalife, our of curiousity, how old are you? I’m guessing in your early 20’s as your “American Idol” worship of this clown shows with all your posts.

rayvet on April 4, 2009 at 7:47 AM

Has this guy ever given a speech he practiced beforehand? If you can’t give a speech without ‘technology’, you’re an idiot.

I know Presidents have used teleprompters for years, but this is an embarrasement. If you aren’t smart enough to ad lib/wing it if the ‘technology’ fails, you don’t know enough about what you’re talking about to begin with.

For a supposed university professor to not be able to give an impromtu speech or ‘mow through” when the teleprompter takes a break shows this guy to be, um, somewhat less “educated” than he is touted to be.

Again, simply embarrassing.

Hmm, of course when Obambi is in trouble then he would look backwards to blame everything on Bush. :(

While AP’s screeds are left-leaning elitist drivel, at least his sentences form coherent paragraphs and he tries to back up his prejudices. He would have to take some serious psychotropic drugs to babble like getalife. Just guessing but I think AP sticks with pot and Stoly.

Europe treated America like heroes that hung around then insisted on coming back to visit. Then they sat around jealous as we built an empire and defended freedom. They were concerned about the Soviets but had the luxury of a strong ally. So they acted independent.

Now they can take their feeling of irritation over our accomplishments and strength and quietly enjoy the mess we are in and the First Family we sent over. And Dear Leader mentions our arrogance.

Can they keep him?
