Video: Taliban savages flog teenaged girl for “infidelity”

posted at 6:21 pm on April 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

A video complement to today’s helpful reminder from Barack Obama that electing him president has not, in fact, made Islamic fascists any less fascistic. Like most jihadi propaganda, it’s hard to watch but essential to watch. Although if you simply can’t stomach it, at least follow the link and read the story to remind yourself that the Pakistani government has abandoned women in the Swat region to this fate. Remember, these are the people with whom Hillary Clinton wants an “honorable reconciliation.”

I wish I could tell you things were much better across the border in Afghanistan but I can’t. Click the image to watch.

I watched it last night.

At full volume, other people will come into the room and ask you what you are watching. When you tell them what it is and why it is being done, the looks on their faces are almost as painful as the video.

Those that rule Saudi Arabia are cut from the same clothe so it is particularly galling to see our President act so servile in the presence of a middle eastern version of a bad Jed Clampett.

“But some residents of Matta have accused the commander of ordering the beating to get revenge after the girl refused to accept his proposal of marriage, the reporters told The Times.”

……….. now why am I more inclinded to believe this side of the story?

Remember, these are the people with whom Hillary Clinton wants an “honorable reconciliation.”

This is all part of the “It Takes a Village” mentality: “If we just talk and come to an understanding things will be so much better”. Drives me out of my mind. Every time I see one of those asinine “Coexist” bumper stickers my inner Sam Kennson erupts and I want to scream: “Hey, idiot!!! The letter C in your bumper sticker doesn’t want to coexist – they want to kill you.” My dear Uncle Sam gave me the opportunities to visit these countries and deal with these people. They hate you and want you to die. You cannot reason with people that act like rabid dogs.

phew…I fell much better now…thanks

A local Taleban commander in the militant stronghold of Matta, 25 miles from the regional capital, Mingora, ordered the girl to be flogged a week ago after accusing her of adultery, according to local reporters.

Translastion: 17 year old girl refuses local Taleban commander sexual advances and is beaten for it.

blatantblue on April 3, 2009 at 7:06 PM

On my top 3 list of things that scare the crap out of me about leading a platoon in Afghanistan … dealing with this may be number one.

A friend of mine was a platoon sergeant over there on patrol in vehicles … came across a scene of a man beating his wife with a stick for daring to look up at the passing American soldiers.

The beating was severe. No one was lifting a finger. A turret gunner swung his M240 around and had his finger on the trigger, ready to send Ahmed off to paradise … a young kid, probably 20.

My friend – who wanted nothing more than to slit the animal’s throat – had to stop the kid from pulling the trigger. And then he had to drive away. Those were orders: don’t interfere in such things.

I can’t even watch the video. I can’t imagine handling it in person.

Especially if I had the means at my disposal to do something about it.

Professor Blather on April 3, 2009 at 7:09 PM

Code Puke, Sean “I suk Chavez DI**” Penn, Susan Saranwrap, Tokyo-Rosie, and Ma-whore-donna et al just don’t get it do they…the absurdity of their ill-logic that these backwards azzed animals could be TALKED TO without a doubt proves how vapid and ignorant the left is!

Seriously, if after watching this video would any of them think for a moment what would happen to them if they tried to do a fraction of what they do here in the USA (and getting filthy rich doing it) and did the same thing in areas say like in Swat, Afghanistan, SA, etc? They would be taken out to a soccer stadium and shot in the head or stoned to death, yet they don’t see it?!?!?!

Could you imagine what they would do to Madonna if she held one of here concerts (cone breasts, lots of skin, provactive lyrics, etc.) in some of those areas/countries…yet she and the rest of her lefty ilk think we can negotiate with such scum? I say let her go to one of those shiite holes and talk to them, then put on one of her infamous concerts for them and see for herself just how terrible America is compared to the likes of the taliban…IDIOTS ALL OF THEM!

And that sentiment is exactly whats wrong with the world today.

You have human rights lawyers in Spain bringing cases against former Bush administration officials because a few fundamentalist nut jobs were locked up and subjected to interrogation methods that induced severe discomfort.

Were are these same lawyers when it comes to the obvious human rights violations committed against women in islamic countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan? In fact Sharia law should be outlawed and declared a crime against humanity in my opinion. Any system of law that enables a human being to be reduced to what is essentially a slave and the private property of another is fundamentally wrong and should not be tolerated in this day and age.

So no I will not tolerate this sort of barbaric behavior and it is my sincerest hope that religious fundamentalist groups like the Taliban who seek to force others to submit to their theocratic control are crushed and destroyed and their fundamentalist theology is expunged once and for all.

Its the fact that she is being punished without due process. Its the fact that as a female in islamic society she has no rights at all and is essentially seen as being a non person.

OhioCoastie on April 3, 2009 at 7:16 PM

I would put it this way: Destroy when and where necessary (which unfortunately seems like a enormous amount). Help transform when and where possible (which unfortunately seems to be so little).

The problem is so large, I think we only have the means to do it in small stages, which would be good if we actually do it.

My concern:

Does our nation have the will anymore to take even the smallest, most essential steps to guarantee our lives, liberties and honor?

Or, is our nation going to bow down on bended knee in submission to tyrants?

Loxodonta on April 3, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Do these pussies even like women? The way they cover them up in those stupid burkas, berate them and beat them; I do not think they like women at all. What they want are slaves. They make slaves out of non-muslim men and out of any and all women they can get their hands on. Or perhaps some of them enjoyed that beating of a young teenage girl in an un-holy way… bastards!

yubley on April 3, 2009 at 7:43 PM

I wish I could tell you things were much better across the border in Afghanistan but I can’t.

But, of course, you can’t as they are not, and now even more laws are apparently going to be passed by the Afghan government, that we support, to worsen the condition of women and girls in Afghanistan, on top of the fact that sicko Islamic law is enshrined in the U.S. sponsored constitution of Afghanistan already, as it is in Iraq’s, just waiting to rear it’s ugly head at some point.

And what do you want to bet as to the percentages of women and girls who undergo such cowardly sadism by the Taliban, or other Islamic goat fornicators, they are not all Taliban you know, who are accepted back by their families?

DIRT doesn’t matter. You don’t defeat a trans-national terrorist organization by occupying medieval villages.

Yesterday, President Obama presented his “comprehensive new strategy” for Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was neither new, nor a strategy. Behind all the rhetoric, he just said, I’m sending more troops and more money.

Barack Obama? I heard Lyndon Johnson. The only LBJ touch that BHO lacked was the word “escalation.”

The rhetoric was masterly. The content was drivel. He said, “The situation is increasingly perilous.” Which situation? Why? For whom? Certainly, it’s becoming more perilous for our troops as we escalate in support of the wrong policy.

Or how about Obama’s ringing claim that the Taliban have “nothing to offer the Afghan people but terror and oppression?” Many Afghans — at least among the Pashtun plurality — don’t agree.

The tribals deep in those valleys and the Pashtuns in Pakistan feel a lot closer to the Taliban’s values than to ours. They might not mind a new road, but they’ll skip the bikinis and Budweiser, thanks. The Talibs are home-boys. We’re the foreign element. Why is that so hard to grasp?

All of this circles back to the core of the problem — and it’s not Afghanistan. Afghanistan’s not worth a mullah’s hemorrhoid. Putting the bulk of our effort into Afghanistan amounts to attacking a crisis in California by rescuing Nevada. It’s Pakistan that lies (and lies and lies) at the heart of this problem.

To his credit, Obama noted Pakistan’s importance. Then he got all the solutions wrong.

Start with his inane — but touchingly American — statement that “the people of Pakistan want the same things we want.” Oh, really?

How many Post readers think Sharia law would be a good idea? How about beating the crap out of women just for yuks? Or stoning them to death because they smiled at the wrong time? And let’s ban alcohol, bare arms, dating and jobs for women. And grow those beards, fellas!

Why on earth should the Pakistanis help us when we reward them lavishly for screwing us?

And since it’s still our policy to punish those who aid terrorists, we need to punish ourselves. We bear a portion of the responsibility for every Pakistan-backed terror attack on India. Why? Because the Pakistanis know that, no matter how brutal the deeds of their terrorist auxiliaries, we’ll step in to “mediate” and prevent the Indians from retaliating.

Want a truly fresh strategy that would work? End all support of any kind to Pakistan. Close our embassy. Do what makes military sense and reduce our forces in Afghanistan to a level that can be supplied by air. And concentrate on destroying al Qaeda, not on “owning” village X. (Obama’s approach just stinks of Vietnam.)

Imagine how different the situation would be if we weren’t Pakistan’s strategic prisoner and didn’t stand between Islamabad and Delhi. What if the Pakistanis had to behave responsibly and stop sponsoring terror attacks against India — or face India’s wrath? Nuclear war? Pakistan would vanish, India would lick its wounds. And the Pakistanis know it.

And how about asking ourselves the fundamental question: “Why is India a success story and Pakistan a complete failure?” Any chance that backward Islam might have something to do with it? We can’t bribe people to succeed.

Our president identified al Qaeda as Pakistan’s No. 1 enemy. That’s wishful thinking. Pakistan’s leading enemy has always been corruption. No. 2 is its home-grown Islamist insurgency. Al Qaeda’s way down the list.

Our pathetically naive president articulated one sound goal — defeating al Qaeda — then told us how he wasn’t going to do it. Like LBJ, all he can think of is more troops and more aid. Can’t we ask ourselves why the Taliban’s thriving? After the military beatings we’ve given them? How many of our troops must die for an empty policy?

Hey, hey, ho, ho, BHO, why don’t your supporters go?

Sharia is as much of a threat to human existence as nazism was.

Settle down, Captain Hyperbole!

The Nazis controlled a government that was capable of running one of the largest economies in the world. The Nazis controlled a government capable of waging war with some of the world’s Great Powers, in some cases successfully. The Nazis controlled a government that was capable of implementing rocket weapons and coming damn close to inventing atomic weapons.

Those who implement Sharia are, under the best of circumstances, decades behind the West, and in the case of the Taliban, are centuries behind. They are incapable of waging war against the most backwards of Third World nations, let alone Great Powers. They couldn’t invent the wheel, much less an advanced weapons system.

The only valid comparison between Nazis and practitioners of Sharia is that they are both sub-human.

Here was the new Koran of faith and war: turgid, verbose, shapeless, but pregnant with its message.
- Winston Churchill (equating “Mein Kampf” to the Koran in his book the “The Gathering Storm”)

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science – the science against which it had vainly struggled – the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

I don’t care if we nuke Mecca off the face of the earth. So make no mistake what I think of Islam.

Having said that, I sincerely want to understand what purpose is served by putting the word infidelity in scare quotes?

I mean, we have hollywood actors engaging in infidelity all the time on screen and in real life. We don’t shrink away from properly calling it what it is.

I’m coming at it from the point of view of what you’re trying to accomplish by putting infidelity in scare quotes? It’s almost as if you need to up the outrage quotient by minimizing he denominator, the degree of offense.

Don’t you think infidelity is an offense? Yeah, yeah, it’s an offense not worthy of felony assault. I get it. But then say that. Don’t deflate the magnitude of infidelity. Inflate the disproportion of the punishment.

In my opinion.

“Fight against ‘extremists’” instead of Islam makes about as much sense as if during WWII, FDR had talked about a “War on Blitkreigerism” or a “War on Divebomberism” rather than a war against Germany and Japan.

MB4 on April 3, 2009 at 8:07 PM

These are not extremists! These are mainstream muslims…nothing else.

The jihadis don’t pose an imminent threat as great as the Nazis, but only in that the Nazis had the war machinery necessary to destroy much of Europe quickly and then occupy it.

However, jihadism does pose a threat as great as Nazism over the long term. By purchase or theft, or through individual brutality or threat, they terrorize people, step by step, year by year, country by country, into submission.

If and when they can carry out another 9/11 in America, they will do it. And if they can purchase or steal a nuclear bomb, they will use it. And until their ideology is eradicated, they will continue to terrorize and threaten until their goal of world-wide submission is achieved.

They must be stopped.

Hey…they let the moderate guy in the bunch do the beating.

Balance this with all the beauty, justice and science that Islam has given mankind and massive corporal punishment is a small price.

Forget Osama (the black one) and the rest of our ‘leadership’; it’s a given they can’t accomplish jack squat.

I want to know where the hell are the so-called women’s rights groups are right now. Why isn’t, say, NOW picketing mosques and calling out Muslim leaders on TV for allowing this kind of barbarity?

I guarantee that some young woman is being beaten every day in every city in the USA for some sexual misdeed. Of course it’s not right, but it is not unusual here or anywhere. Are you guys serious. There are people here suggesting the entire country of Afghanistan be nuked because a tart got a spanking? Does that include the women or just the men and children in this holocaust? Sheessss! And were saying they are nuts?

The jihadis don’t pose an imminent threat as great as the Nazis, but only in that the Nazis had the war machinery necessary to destroy much of Europe quickly and then occupy it.

To consider the threat of jihadism as “imminent”, at least in terms of the national security threat that Nazism posed is Chicken Littlism.

The Nazis could field a war machine because of their respect for modernity, science, and political sophistication. The reason that jihadis will never pose that threat is because of their lack of respect for these things.

However, jihadism does pose a threat as great as Nazism over the long term.

Left to their own devices, jihadism, in the long term, will find itself overshadowed, subsumed, and eventually conquered by other systems and philosophies, both virtuous and vile. I fear other political paradigms, both current and future, far more than I will ever fear a bunch of goatherders.

By purchase or theft, or through individual brutality or threat, they terrorize people, step by step, year by year, country by country, into submission.

What countries?

Iran? The fact is that Iran is as successful as the jihadis have been to this point, and they are well within sight of blowing it, largely because of their rejection of modernity, in a country full of young people who can see the benefits that modernity has brought to the rest of the world?

Afghanistan? For as long as I can remember, Afghanistan has been a basket case. I really don’t care if they get taken over or not.

Saudi Arabia? The fact is, as time goes on, the Saudis (and the Kuwaitis, Qataris, etc.), are moving away from Sharia, not towards it.

The truth is, separate out the propaganda and fear-mongering, modern Muslim states are becoming less likely to produce jihadis as time goes on.

If and when they can carry out another 9/11 in America, they will do it.

True. But 9/11 pales in comparison to the damage that the Nazis could have done left unchecked.

And if they can purchase or steal a nuclear bomb, they will use it.

Then we should be using our limited resources to making good and G*d-damn sure that they don’t get nuclear weapons, rather than following a messianic vision of democratizing parts of the world that simply aren’t ready for it.

And until their ideology is eradicated, they will continue to terrorize and threaten until their goal of world-wide submission is achieved.

They must be stopped.

As I said above, their ideology will be stopped by the march of history. There is simply no way that an ideology that rejects modernity can survive against ideologies that don’t.

And to worry about Wahabbism, jihadism, or Sharia toting radicals taking over the world is fantasy. You really want to be safe from these losers? Put up a reasonable defense, employ Hunter-Killer teams to seek out their leaders, and… most importantly… don’t go looking for rattlesnake nests. Let south Asia and the Middle East worry about South Asia and the Middle East.

Some some guy who beats a woman/girl behind closed doors (because he knows he’ll be arrested if he’s seen) is the same as gathering the neighborhood ’round to witness the beating? It’s not just the act, it’s the tolerance, acceptance, and even approval and encouragement of the act that makes Islam a sick, twisted cult!

Great story from Mark Steyn in America Alone. Paraphrasing the recounting of a story about when the Brits took over India, local custom followed that when a man died and left his elderly widow, the widow was thrown on his funeral pyre to burn and die so she would not be a burden to her family. A few British soldiers witnessed one of these occasions and abruptly put an end to it. The locals complained to the British general in charge that the British claimed they would not interfere in local custom. The general told them, Yes, we agreed to honor your customs, but it is also a British custom when a woman is thrown on a fire to burn alive, we string up the men that did it from the nearest tree. That will be the “custom” from here on out in these parts. Not another widow was killed in that territory from then on…funny how that works, huh?

JAM on April 3, 2009 at 9:49 PM

Sorry, but this is not a terrible beating and water boarding is not torture. I would agree to either for a small sum of money and I think most people would. My parents gave me worse beatings than that for far less. I was not permanently harmed and neither is this girl. If this is a terrible tragedy then what do we call the real thing that results in broken bones and skin and scaring. Is that really really really bad. Perspective, please people. The reaction here is our equivalent to rioting over a cartoon.

bagoh20 on April 3, 2009 at 6:58 PM

I counted 34, and it sounds like a fairly heavy strap.

Things can go downhill pretty quickly for a victim of this type of brutality. Bleeding, ruptured rectum, ovaries, not to mention the severe permanent mental scarring.

The perp looks like your typical lightweight muslim wifebeater. How I wish for 5 minutes alone with him or any of his ilk.

Dude, Sorry about your childhood. I pledge a sawbuck for a playdate between you and Mr. Medieval.
