Palin rips Levi Johnston for dishing about Bristol on Tyra Banks’s show

posted at 8:20 pm on April 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

I don’t blame her a bit, especially after watching the clip of him stuttering about their sex life. What a turd.

“Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,” says the statement from the Palin family rep.

“Bristol’s focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence,” the statement continues. “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child.”

The statement ends, saying, “Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions.”

Bristol’s supposed advocacy of abstinence is rather highly nuanced, but never mind that. If I were her, I’d be at the courthouse on Monday filing for child support to get whatever piece she can of the dirty money Tyra Banks paid this kid to tell her things like whether Palin knew they were having sex or not. Stay classy, dad.

Update: Oh lord. It never ends.

Time to sleep. I can’t type anymore. Guys just get a poster of Sarah and drool over her. But please stop putting her forward as a viable candidate for 2012.

Palin didn’t win. Remember that.

Not only are you a genius, but you bring us breaking news.

Ayers was discussed during the election. Actually, all of Obama’s associations were discussed. He still won.

Which of course means Palin can’t win, even though she doesn’t have anything nearly as damning in her record, which at this point has been scoured clean. Impeccable logic.

Jim Treacher on April 4, 2009 at 3:03 AM

Chekote,

Granted, she may have not answered that question well (I winced, didn’t we all?). But how do you compare that question to “how does it feel to win?”. “What do you read?” was a softball question, to be sure – but the other side got nothing but softballs. Why did it not occur to any interviewer to ask that of anyone else? Why does EVERYONE ELSE get the benefit of the doubt, but not her? The basic TONE of the questions asked across the parties was blatantly different and favorable to the Democrats. the one time where the questions were identical (saddleback), McCain’s answers were more decisive and honest than Obama’s. “Above my paygrade” was an actual answer. Now, ther is no paygrade higher than Obama has – is he able to make a decision now?

I think that you dimwit Palin fanboys are missing something. See, it isn’t her ideology that people with brains and toothbrushes find offensive – it’s the fact that she is a complete and utter fool. Add to that the Springeresque stories about her family and she is downright revolting as a candidate of any kind.

Left, Right and in between. Thinking people don’t want anything to do with that woman.

capitulus on April 3, 2009 at 11:05 PM

Obama is considered to be a complete and utter fool by many.
He is ridiculed for his never ending gaffes, breaches of protocol, tax cheating nominees, teleprompter addiction, being “punch drunk,” lousy gift giving to heads of states (DVDs to a nearly blind PM, Ipod to Queen Elizabeth complete with show tunes and Obama speeches & photos, Russian Reset Button gaffe, etc.). There are websites dedicated to TOTUS (for goodness sakes, he took 12 teleprompters to Europe!).

He is spending this country into bankruptcy but claims he will cut our debt. His policies have managed to anger the right wing, moderates and the left wing in only a couple of months. Code Pink have called him a warmonger and are planning protests against Obama’s Afghan/Pakistan/Iraq war policies this weekend (LOL!).

I’ll take Palin anyday over Obama. Her state of Alaska has a brighter economic outlook than the US does under Obama.

Hawthorne on April 4, 2009 at 3:48 AM

You know, I really like you Palin freaks, I really do.

That is why I am trying to help you.

But, I got some bad news for you sunshine…

Sarah Palin is a nice gal, kinda cute, plays the flute, shoots guns, talks about meese (plural for moose), winks at the camera, says cute home-spun crap like “you betcha” and she is a total social conservative…I mean she says the social conservative stuff….doesnt really LIVE the social conservative stuff…but I digress.

But she is a small town gal who works well as a mayor of a small town in Alaska. Sure, she is governor of Alaska now, but that is pretty much the population of a fairly large city in a REAL state.

McCain picked her, another bad decision from the douche that never makes good decisions, in order to offset the liberal women who were going to be pissed at Obama for dissing a broad, so he picked a broad. Yeah, that worked out REEAAAAAL well.

McCain had no idea that the woman, Palin, had children running around the house all preggers and stuff. He didnt know that the babe was unaware that Africa is a continent. He wasnt aware that the broad would get stumped with really really hard questions like “uh, what newspapers do you read or something?”. But, McCain picked her and lost any independents that he might have had, as the polls show, and all he did was, in the process, unintentionally rev up the mouth-breathing portion of the party base.

But y’all should give up on the Sarah Palin train wreck right now. Mmmmmmmmmmmkay?

It is just going to be one embarrassment after another for the next four years. And then when she does finally make a deluded run for POTUS, the poor, nice gal will get her ass handed to her faster than Tom Tancredo.

The citizens of the USA are NOT going to elect this airheady, ethically challenged babe POTUS.

Aint gonna happen.

No how. No way.

But here is the GOOD NEWS!!!

If y’all stop acting like love-sick high-school drop-outs, y’all might be able to get Mitt Romney to consider being POTUS and fixing this downward spiraling country. IT COULD HAPPEN!!

But, I delude myself. Y’all are going to continue to fantasize about a “Sarah Palin” that doesnt even really exist….and over the next four years, you will get to know the REAL LIVE BREATHING Sarah Palin bit by bit and it will get to the point where you will smack your head and say “DAMN…SHE AINT THE SARAH PALIN AH THOUGHT SHE WAS”.

And then, you y’all will FINALLY get it and you will say:

Gotta vote for dat der Mike Huckabee. He’s a christian by Gawd!!!!

And the country will become France until the second coming of the savior where people like me will be saved…and you…well….you know what they say about fornicators in the Bible.

Burn, baby, burn!!!

The Obamas who let their daughters attend a Black Liberation Theology church which preached anti-American, race baiting, misogynist, class warfare, marxist, hateful sermons regularly? The same Obamas who let Bill Ayres, Bernadine Dohrn and Rashid Khalidi babysit their girls? The same Obamas who did not let their daughters visit their white great grandmother, even after the Obamas knew she was dying? The Obamas who went for long periods without seeing their daughters while both Barack and Michelle were out campaigning? Who knows what emotional issues and problems the Obama girls will have as they get older.

Advocating abstinence? Oh yeah that worked out so well for Sara and Bristol. What planet are those Palin’s living on? If you can’t keep your legs closed, use protection. Morons.

Terry Silver on April 4, 2009 at 12:03 AM

By that token, a former alcoholic (Glenn Beck for example) can’t advocate sobriety or a former drug addict (Valerie Bertinelli) can’t advocate getting straight. Ever hear of the “Scared Straight” programs where prisoners scare the crap out of young people who are heading for jail. The best advocates for positive life choices are people who have suffered the consequences of their behavior and bad choices.

Bristol is perfect to speak to young girls about what can happen if you choose not to be abstinent. We should be supportive and not judgmental about her situation because it does happen to many young girls regardless of social status.

Protection is not fail-safe. I know women who became pregnant despite using birth control or condoms.

sarahpalinfan99 on April 4, 2009 at 4:35 AM

Dick Morris met Sarah before McCain picked her and Dick says she is one of the smartest people he’s ever met (and Dick’s not alone in that assessment). You have been watching too much MSNBC and CNN.

Not just Dick Morris. John Bolton, a great public intellectual of our time met her. He came away pretty impressed. An entire cruise of National Review met her. They were impressed. Bill Kristol and others from The Standard met her and they were impressed too.

This was much before Mccain was even nominated, so these people had no reason to think she’d be on the ticket in 2008. They went to meet a promising candidate of the party and they knew found a future star. They had no reason to dissimulate because these are people who deeply care about the party and more importantly, the country and yet they felt comfortable with the idea that Sarah could one day lead it.

She’s a woman but she has endured a much harsher campaign than any man and yet she has come out of it with much of her potential in tact. She’s no Dan Quayle precisely because nobody obsessed over Dan Quayle like this. Her accomplishments are a matter of record, unlike Romney. her convictions are not dictated by political expediency, unlike Romney.

I’d say to trolls here (Poptech, The Wall etc): you know your candidate, Mitt Romney, couldn’t even survive a GOP primary much less a national election even after sinking millions and trying for two years. That looks like a loser to me. So, spare us your homilies about how only he can win in 2012. If were that smart a candidate, he’d have outfoxed Mccain in 2008.

Now, many of us did respect Romney but your behavior has pushed us over the cliff. We’ll do to your candidate what you guys are doing to ours. Starting with his Mormon faith( that should yield lots of material), as you guys are trashing Gov.Palin’s family. An eye for an eye.

But, maybe we needn’t after all. That’s because our Sarah has bright potential and is the leading contender for 2012. Your guy, Romney is yesterday’s news.

Troll as much as you want but you’ll be crushed under a Sarah juggernaut, come 2012. So, instead of wasting our time, why don’t you guys buy a huge poster of Romney and pour your ejaculations on it?

Sarah built her entire political career on her own, working on way up from a small town mayorship. What did pretty boy Romney do? Got off on his dad’s name and wealth.

I don’t have your patience Pooptech, but we can make lists about your pretty boy too and we won’t need MSM to finish him off.

promachus on April 4, 2009 at 5:19 AM

I really love Sarah…

and I do think, no, I KNOW she got and continues to get the media shaft job of our lifetimes (neck and neck with Bush,) however…

…no one said this was a fair game. heck, as SP even knows, LIFE isn’t “fair.” Given Palin’s own sordid family life and the media “red neck” slant, I do think the impression is sticking.

Is it fair that there is zero coverage of Biden’s daughter or Obama’s drug dealer ( as someone posted on page one)? No. But, some stories are a little too close for comfort for the electorate. Family drug issues, criminal behavior of extended family, unwed teenage daughter, special needs infant, another teen daughter, Piper ( The Cutest Child In The World), and a son in Iraq…plus…a state she is governing.

I really thought that she could do it…I think women can! But, she is a mommy and a grandmommy now, really in the thick of it, and, honestly, if we think that is one of the best jobs in God’s creation (as I do), I do think she needs to wait it out and deal with the swirling madness surrounding the family and protect her young kids from any more controversy.

I think she energized us during the election…and I think she was the right person for the job at the time…however, what we received in Obama was worse than we could ever imagine and we need something more…no more gambles.

There. I’ve said it. ((Ducks.))

Although I understand the desire to pound this young man, I wish Gov. Palin would maintain a dignified silence. Her comment removes the focus from him and brings it back to her and her daughter. Silence, on the other hand, leaves this young man What’s-His-Name in the spotlight, foolishly showing himself as the cad he is.

Most parents who find out they are having a down syndrome baby abort the poor thing. Sarah Palin chose to raise her son in a loving home and was not selfish like those who abort a baby because it wasnt perfect. It is obvious to all that her family is a loving family, so I feel they are an example of loving, unselfish parents.

It’s stunning how the liberals suddenly care about an 18 year old unwed mother. Was it because she kept her baby or because she didn’t go on welfare? She’s a “small town” governor; he’s a large city community organizer. She’s not qualified, he’s the messiah.

Her 18 year old daughter is an unwed mother and her in-law was arrested for theft. Apparently the Palin-haters who pretend to be conservatives really aren’t interested in having any chance at winning in 2012. I like Palin but I do accept that she is fighting a uphill battle against the smears and bile spewed by both the Left and some of the people here.

She may decide that it’s not worth it to run again for national office or she may run and not get nominated. We are talking about an election several years away.

However given the attacks on her by some on the Right, the liklihood of Palin supporters changing their support to Romney is slim. All I can think is if he attracts AH’s like The Wall he is someone I wouldn’t support. It’s a good thing he has plenty of his own funds to spend because all those donations flowing into the SarahPAC won’t be transferring over to him. If she doesn’t run/get nominated I know I’ll be remembering where the attacks on her came from when I look at who might get my vote.

She’s going to keep advocating abstinence even though she told Greta it’s unrealistic? Interesting.

How is that interesting? I don’t think she was referring to herself, specifically. Do YOU think it’s realistic that young adults will always choose abstinence?

Fed45 on April 4, 2009 at 10:18 AM

capitulus: have you ever been in the military? Good God man. pawn shops are there because many enlisted people aren’t paid enough to feed their families–they routinely pawn items to buy diapers. and the very young enlisted men have no idea what to do with a paycheck anyway.

It will be interesting to see if ANYTHING comes of Ashley Biden’s allegations. I suspect she gets the young, white and famous media pass.

The Race Card on April 3, 2009 at 10:30 PM

How do you even talk about a young, white, and famous media pass in the context of a story like this? Is Bristol Palin not young, white, and famous? I guarantee she’s better known that Ashley Biden.

Ashley Biden will get the family of a prominent Democrat pass, sometimes known as the Kennedy exemption.

Nothing to do with being white. Everything to do with who it embarrasses.

Fed45 on April 4, 2009 at 10:18 AM

Abstinence is a good policy when the children are in high school and living at home, where a parent has some ability to monitor the environment. Once they go to college or live on their own in their young twenties the statistics show that almost all will have sex before marriage, so helping a child to exercise good judgment with contraceptives can prevent a pregnancy before the young adult is financially or emotionally ready.

Hmmmm….lesseee….in the past couple of days we’ve had stories about Barry and Weezie acting like they were attending a housewarming party in their honor when they visited the queen. Numerous stories about Barry’s continued inability to assemble even one coherent thought without his trusty teleprompter. When each one of these comes out, you libtards hold your breath and stomp your and ask “why is this so important when there is so much….[insert 'sky is falling' made up scenario here].

But whenever aPalin is even mentioned in a story, you libtards are all too eagery to chime in and fan the flames. Hypocrites the whole bunch of ya’s.

capitulus on April 4, 2009 at 10:36 AM

I don’t understand why anyone would think that Gov Palin & Bristol shouldn’t be advocates for abstinence. Both of them can speak to the reality of what happens when you don’t suceed. In Gov Palin’s case she ended up happily married to a man who is obviously still in love with her but she still is enduring personal attacks. In Bristol’s case she is facing personal attacks by adults who have no personal involvement in her life as well as having to face the fact that she made a very poor choice in who she had sex with – a bad outcome. Both those examples speak to how abstinence would have been a better choice.

To say that they shouldn’t advocate abstinence implies that all those reformed alcoholics/drug users shouldn’t speak against drinking and doing drugs.

How? Obama’s daughters are not old enough to get pregnant. And if they were, Obama would clearly have no compunctions about seeing to it they had an abortion so they “would not be punished with a baby.”

So your whole point of comparison is blown.

It’s a stupid comparison. Which is significant, considering how much time you spend calling Palin supporters stupid.

When you lay down with dogs you are certain to get fleas.

Back when my son was at the age of considering sex we had the talk. I then explained to him that making babies carried certain responsibilities such as being a dad. I did tell him that I would rather support the unwed mother of my grandchildren than tolerate the father who abandoned them. I was VERY concise on the last point.

My son did what was right, I’ve got 2 fantastic grandsons today, and today he walks proudly with his head held high. Compare that to Levi Johnston who is acting like a typical liberal.

DannoJyd on April 4, 2009 at 11:21 AM

Although I understand the desire to pound this young man, I wish Gov. Palin would maintain a dignified silence. Her comment removes the focus from him and brings it back to her and her daughter. Silence, on the other hand, leaves this young man What’s-His-Name in the spotlight, foolishly showing himself as the cad he is.

DrMagnolias on April 4, 2009 at 6:15 AM

I’m sorry, but I don’t think that is a realistic response. For a mother to keep silent where her daughter is concerned would suggest she deserves it.

Is anyone really going to blame Sarah Palin for defending her daughter?

ThereGoesTheNeighborhood on April 4, 2009 at 11:22 AM

Good things (such as a baby) often do come from bad choices, but I would think that such a concept is little too God’s-gracey for you. AP.

Shouldn’t dogs have flea collars, and why would anyone want to lay down with the dog anyway? I don’t think Levi is a liberal, though I’d doubt he has put much thought into political philosophy.

As you point out, parenting is the key ingredient. Children might be influenced by Hollywood, peer pressure, religion, teachers, physical desire but parents have the difficult and critical job of making them understand the moral consequences of their actions.

As you point out, parenting is the key ingredient.

People vote for democrats [dogs with fleas] who ignore America’s laws [flea collars] consistantly. Ask them why.

Parenting is a skill best suited to an adult. It isn’t a defined science, is more of an art, and in the end you can only hope your children have listened and learned. But then ‘love’ comes around. It has historically caused the wisest to act like damnfools. Who hasn’t had their heart broken? After the fact it is easy to see that working at love is often a fools errand, yet the fact remains.

Maybe my high school coach said it best. “Keep it in your pants”.

DannoJyd on April 4, 2009 at 11:41 AM

Agree with your points about parenting. It is a difficult mix of being tough, tender, providing a sense of responsibility and leading by example.

People are more likely to have their hearts broken when they are young, and often make foolish decisions about sex for the same reasons. The fact that careless acts of passion produce life’s most consequential result seems unfortunate.

Your high school coach may have been right but it takes more than a “just say no” message to prevent a young person from giving into all the forces causing them to say “just this once”.

My unmarried grandmother got pregnant at 16, married the father, and had my aunt, as well as three other children. She watched one of them die in childhood. She outlived my grandfather and his many girlfriends (I have an aunt “out there somewhere” the age of my sister), was blessed with 10 grandchildren.

As a Christian, who understands what grace, mercy, forgiveness and salvation are, I have no doubt my grandmother is in heaven.

People do make mistakes and they live with the consequences. People do make choices and they live with the results.
