Palin rips Levi Johnston for dishing about Bristol on Tyra Banks’s show

posted at 8:20 pm on April 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

I don’t blame her a bit, especially after watching the clip of him stuttering about their sex life. What a turd.

“Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,” says the statement from the Palin family rep.

“Bristol’s focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence,” the statement continues. “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child.”

The statement ends, saying, “Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions.”

Bristol’s supposed advocacy of abstinence is rather highly nuanced, but never mind that. If I were her, I’d be at the courthouse on Monday filing for child support to get whatever piece she can of the dirty money Tyra Banks paid this kid to tell her things like whether Palin knew they were having sex or not. Stay classy, dad.

Update: Oh lord. It never ends.

Big deal.

The Palin’s are country bumpkins who are very nice people and can handle a small town atmosphere, and small town politics, but are in no way, shape, or form going to ever be able to handle the load and the scrutiny of an entire country. This jerkweed kid who sired the baby from a jerkwater town is a country bumpkin too. Dogs lie with dogs, and the dogs trade fleas.

Get Sarah Palin off the pedestal and get someone with an actual chance to woo the left out there in front. She’s a nowhere candidate and the RNC is going nowhere fast with her on point. All I ever see or hear about her is hemming and hawwing about this and that of no real consequence. She adores the limelight and the attention but she can’t make a solid decision on what to do in the national arena.

Cut her loose already.

That’s not the point I’m trying to make. The left argument (largely correct, I might add) was is it wasn’t that big a deal, and it shouldn’t have a great deal of bearing on his performance in office. I could care less about impeachment, the Republicans overreached with that.

So why does Bristol’s situation translate into Sarah’s lack of fitness for the same office? Or even the second-in-command?

It’s the situational ethics between the two that bothers me. Why can’t the left at least be consistent? I mean, at least other than where obtaining and keeping power is concerned.

A more relevant situation is the VP’s daughter. Will you apply the same ethical standard to him as you do to Palin?

JeffWeimer on April 4, 2009 at 12:03 AM

They aren’t that bad. If Palin changed her mind on social con issues, I think her supporters would abandon her. The Obamadrones don’t care about any of his positions, just his biography and blackness.

I used to think that. But now I have my doubts. Look at this website. How many pictures of her do they post? Instead of acting like thinking adults, Ed Morrissey and gang are acting like typical, teenage boys with the hormones running overtime.

1. There is room at the top, not just for women, but for pretty women

Proof that what I have been saying it 100% correct. She is attractive and most conservative men can’t get past that. The problem is that the rest of the voting public can and does get past Sarah’s looks.

Chekote on April 4, 2009 at 1:37 AM

Um, you’re getting it wrong. BECAUSE she’s attractive, the left HAD to destroy her. She somehow met all the feminist criteria (attractive, successful, happy family), but didn’t have the crucial ingredient – Democrat politics. the left came up with “caribou barbie” after all.

She may be physically attractive, but it was her dealings with the corrupt elements in her (our) party and the oil companies that got us excited about her political prospects – she was real, and willing to sacrifice her political prospects for what was right. If she was Hillary hot that wouldn’t have have made a difference.

JeffWeimer on April 4, 2009 at 2:18 AM

One story is not drama. How many stories have come out about Palin? Just count the true stories not the smears made up by the Left. Little did they know that there was not need to invent stories about the Palin family.

I think Mr. Chekote has an opinion on Sarah Palin, but he’s being pretty cagey about it.

Jim Treacher on April 4, 2009 at 2:27 AM

This is another strike against Palin. She is a non-starter for 2012 if ever. Given the serious times we live in, we need a Margaret Thatcher not a Roseanne Conner.

Chekote on April 3, 2009 at 10:59 PM

Margaret Thatcher had her own share of family scandals and problems.

Her son, Mark Thatcher, according to Wikipedia “…has attracted headlines for his early youthful playboy lifestyle, …business associations, and for the role he played in an attempted coup in Equatorial Guinea, for which role he was fined three million rand (approximately $500,000) and received a four-year suspended jail sentence.”

Her daughter, Carol Thatcher, according to Wikipedia “…caused controversy when she failed to pay her poll tax. The tax was a controversial local taxation system introduced by her mother, which was ended by massive popular protest. When asked by journalists what her mother would say, Carol replied: “Mum won’t give a shit”.” Carol has been involved in other controversies and scandalous relationships which have been very embarassing for her family.

So it is nothing new for politicians, even the great ones, to have family problems and scandals.

You mean Ted Stevens? They guy she is trying to help get back in the Senate. Palin is a politician. She is not the reformer who stopped the bridge to nowhere. Yeah, she stopped it when it became a liability but still kept the money.

As a matter of record, the Left tries to destroy anybody they perceive as a threat. The good men are left standing like Rush. The frauds like Palin wilt under the pressure. I actually participated in GOTV to help her and Mac to get elected. But now I see that she was not what we all thought she was when she first came on the scene.

Chekote on April 4, 2009 at 2:29 AM

What’s so painfully ironic is that a teenage girl getting pregnant, having the baby and caring for it, is all scandalous!!

Meanwhile, who’s taking care of John Edwards’ kid?

If it becomes believable that SP KNEW or had STRONG REASON TO BELIEVE that her underage daughter was being sexually active…and didnt do something effective like move her out to protect her….

The Wall on April 3, 2009 at 9:25 PM

Actually, Todd and Sarah Palin did try to separate the two.

From March 30th People Magazine article on Gov. Palin:

Tom Whitstine Jr., a longtime co-worker of Todd’s, believes the Palins have also opposed the Bristol-Levi romance, at least in the past. Last year her parents sent her to Anchorage to do her junior year of high school and live with Sarah’s sister Heather Bruce. “Basically, they were trying to limit her contact with Levi, trying to be good parents,” says Whitstine. “The method didn’t work out. Now he’s part of Tripp’s family forever.”

But I’m so glad that you’re without sin. I don’t suppose we’d find anything at all that you might be embarrassed about if we started digging through all your dirty laundry.

ramrocks on April 4, 2009 at 2:56 AM

Are you speaking about yourself? Palin is way too much drama. Her sister’s bitter divorce which led to troopergate charges against her and Todd. Her daughter is a single, teenage mother. She was announced to be the speaker at three different events, only to drop out. She wasn’t smart enough to look around her before doing the pardoning of the turkey. She couldn’t answer the simple question of “What do you regularly read?” Couldn’t answer what SCOTUS decisions she disagreed with other than Roe v. Wade. The woman is good looking but she is not ready for prime time. Anyone who thinks she is viable is putting their ideology or feelings in their pants before humanity.

Chekote on April 3, 2009 at 11:05 PM

1) Compared to Obama’s family and background, Palin’s life is PG-rated. His dad was a bitter alcoholic who was married to a number of women at the same time and he had sex with an underage girl (Obama’s mom) who’s parents were involved with communist organizations and had radical associations. There is much more controversy about Obama’s past but I don’t have the time to go through it all. You can research online.

2) Troopergate was a political witchhunt and a sham orchestrated by Palin’s enemies (they were rewarded by Obama for their work). That is why Palin was cleared and nothing came of it.

3) Bristol is an unwed teen mother but so was Obama’s mom and so are many other teens. Many families have to deal with this situation. Bristol is working hard to be a good mom and finish school so she can attend college.

4) It is not Palin’s fault that CPAC and other organizations announced that she would be speaking at their events without official confirmation from Palin. She is very busy and receives thousands of invitations to events. She only selects a few events to attend because she is a sitting governor with responsibilities.

5) The turkey interview was much ado about nothing. She was there to help promote a local turkey farm. How do people think turkeys end up at the market? The NBC News crew could have edited the shot if they wanted. NBC News is pro-Obama so they probably tried to make Palin look bad on purpose. Remember, Alinsky’s playbook.

6) She did not answer Katie’s question because she was ticked off and felt Katie was insulting her by asking such a stupid question. She and Katie were not getting along at that point in the interview. She has discussed Supreme Court decisions in interviews. Recently, she has given press interviews on the Exxon Valdez Supreme Court case which involves Alaska. Anyone can have a bad interview especially as she has said she felt both Gibson and Couric were being hostile and disrepectful to her. Biden and Obama get passes when they flub interviews. It is not fair to hold Sarah to a different standard.

sarahpalinfan99 on April 4, 2009 at 2:57 AM

Palin can’t win because of less embarrassing, damning associations than the guys who won?

Palin didn’t win. Remember that. Ayers was discussed during the election. Actually, all of Obama’s associations were discussed. He still won. What do you and Allapundit, Ed Morrissey just admit that you find her attractive (very understable). You like to look at her (fine) but recognize that she is not POTUS material. Not her. Not her family which belongs in a Roseanne episode.
