They Have!

I can understand McCain being angry with Hispanics and Jews. Both groups voted overwhelmingly for Obama. Both should have voted for McCain. If Hispanics and Jews are now unhappy (and they should be), they have themselves to blame.

Note that if the United States had the demographics as existed in 1992 and the different gropus voted in the same percentages between McCain and Obama, McCain would have won.

Winning outright minority support is a pipe dream for the GOP. But you can still win by maybe raising Latino support to around 35-40%, and gain back defectors to Obama who acted out in momentary anger.

In that regard, they are just like most Americans.

A strategy of Pandering to any group will not work. Karl Rove may be the architect but he’s the architect of a losing game plan, to be sure. McCain and the GOP followed that and, well, here we are. Sadly, nothing has changed within the Party so far. We’re still on the a downward spiral and it is mostly because of this one issue. DD

@DD, You are correct. The reason the Rove strategy worked, was because it was new and caught an already disorganized democrat party off guard. You can’t keep going back to the same battle plan over and over again. The enemy adapts. Not to diminish the brilliance of Mr. Rove or his plans, but he is guilty failing one the Art of War’s tenets:

78% of the Jewish Vote

It is my understanding that 78% of the Jewish vote in the United States support the Palestinians against Israel.

It is only the Republicans who support a strong Israel.

I’ve had enough of this guy.

The next couple of cycles are the time to start getting rid of this dead wood. McCain and Specter are two primo candidates to shove out the back door.

Hispanics instead overwhelmingly supported Obama over McCain, 67%-31%, an even worse drubbing than George Bush got in either election.

Of course, they wanted free stuff, too.

It’s sad that a man who distinguished himself in the uniformed service of his country should end his life this way.

Really sad.

I don’t have much sympathy for McCain on his immigration policies. McCain thought that Hispanics would flock to his banner based on his embrace of most of their agenda. In the end, though, McCain and Barack Obama wound up at just about the same policy on immigration, making it a wash in the presidential election.

You have to wear your brown shirt when you make this request. Everyone is allowed an opinion, including platypus. You may not like it, it may sting, but this is still America and we still have the first amendment. For now.

These people have never raised middle schoolers, I’d guess.

Isn’t the position of the “bigger tent” nudniks that the tent would have been full if not for Governor Palin scaring them all off by not aborting Trig when she should have?

The “bigger tent” nudniks were scared off when McCain made his entire early campaign about Obama’s lack of experience and picking a VP with comparable experience to Obama.

And illegals are allowed to vote why? This is utterly insane!

McCain fought with his own party countrymen to do so, and most of them abandoned him for Obama.

He’s a disgrace.
