Think how many people will be put to work when they decide to carve The One's head on Mt. <strike>Rush</strike>Wantsmore

I hope John the Farmer / Firefighter has all his taxes paid up, is current in his firefighter training, and hasn't ever done anything like get divorced, because if he has... well the news value of any of that would inestimable, according to the precedents of the MSM!

On the other hand, the President's original birth certificate, transcipts, theses, and Illinois legislative papers... or for that matter, the military records of the "war hero" that the Dems ran last time... those are all just distractions!!

If I'm not mistaken, money from the Stimulus bill made it possible for my mom and dad to keep their jobs, and eventually meet and marry 55 years ago.

The stimulus is working so fast it's breaking the time barrier...

A wave of new loans, though, sounds like a repeat of what created the recession, said John Tyndall, a volunteer firefighter and corn and soybean farmer who attended the Biden event.
“They gave out loans to people who couldn’t pay ‘em back,” Tyndall said.

Another average American who knows how to cut through the BS... John the Firefighter!

But you don’t understand. The stimulus bill saved these jobs. That’s what Biden meant to say.

.
But you don't understand. The plan is to save or create three and a half million jobs. Those jobs are all that will be available. The other 160 million will be gone.

And that 3,500,000 is about the size of the Federal payroll.

See?

Are we supposed to be surprised by this. Let me clue you in on what the next 2 to 4 years is going to be like. Obama, Biden and the democrats in congress are going to blame anything that goes wrong on Bush and try to take credit for anything that Bush accomplished.

TrickyDick on April 2, 2009 at 1:57 PM

The mantra from the press and Democrats throughout the current economic crisis has been that more "accountability" is needed. Well, this is yet another demonstration of why Fascism Doesn't Work. Fascism places control of the economy under the least accountable possible actor, the government. You can't even tell what the government did, or didn't, do. How many people will be perfectly happy to believe this nonsense out of Biden, and will never know any different?

It won't be hard for them to blame everything bad on Bush and take credit for everything good, as you say. We can hardly rely upon the media to blow the whistle on them. We all had a good laugh about the imbecilic claims that Obama's policies will "create or save" X number of jobs, but the media will energetically help sell that kind of sloppy nonsense to the public.

Not only is it nearly impossible to hold the government to account for its mistakes, it's nearly impossible to assess what it has actually done. A private industry would never be able to get away with what Biden did here, or what the Administration will do with increasing frequency over the coming years... if Ford tries to take credit for Toyota sales, they get laughed out of the room, and if Ford tries to claim their cars prevent male-pattern baldness, they get sued. Obama can claim virtually any aspect of a trillion-dollar economy is, or is not, his responsibility, and the voters would need PhDs in macroeconomics to know for certain if he's telling the truth. Even the kind of obvious failure that would destroy a private industry can be spun as success by the government. Can anyone doubt that a $300 billion dollar loss at GM, accompanies by a 3% increase in minority car ownership thanks to Fannie Mae-style socially engineered loans, would be presented as a terrific victory?

Biden is no longer a party line voting member of the Senate so now he is the token white boy and comic opera at best. His Foreign Policy experience is as sadly lacking as Obamas.

He is just the distraction while the hardcore Socialists do their damage to the Nation. The decoy, kinda like chaff & flares on a warplane. Useful but disposable after his purpose has been served.

He’s de facto president while Obama is out of the country.

Then we're just as de fucto as we are as when Bammy's in the country, so everything's sweet.
