It’s a protest, people, not a civil war. And compared with some previous protests in the UK it is really rather small and tame. Didn’t you read the news? “Mostly peaceful”. Sure a few twerps smashed some windows but that was the least that was expected. The fact that the news cameras are standing right next to the poser breaking the window should be enough to tell you this wasn’t a major drama.

What do you want, the government to ban protests? A police state? The Army to mow-down everyone who has an objectionable opinion?

These activists were intent on deliberately provoking the police, and one fellow did manage to get an officer to push back. There was more pushing and shoving among the professional photojournalists trying to get into the perfect position to capture the image of a protester being 'savagely attacked by out of control police officers'. I believe photojournalists like those I saw in that video clip should be arrested for inciting a riot, and spend some time in jail along with the protesters they were assisting.
