Exit question: How’d Team Barry forget to pre-load that ass-covering speech on race he gave last year — which, I believe, was the last time he dared to utter a syllable on the subject? Isn’t that supposed to be the greatest work of American literature since “Huckleberry Finn” or something? Way to cheap out on the Queen!

Not to detract from the Bush’s legacy, but they probably took the advice for their gifts from some sort of protocol specialist who lives and breaths this sort of thing, as they should. Obama has obviously either fired or ignored these people, believing he can wing it just fine because Bush was a complete idiot, right?
I seriously doubt that Obama even realizes what a dumbass he looks like because who among his advisors (knowing, as they should, how thin-skinned and vindictive he is) would be willing to point out his lack of class and inept social skills? Obama must have caught some kind of flack over the Brown DVD gaffe, because atleast a little thought went into the gifts besides the I-pod, but it still looks like he is a fumbling amature.

Obama or someone on his staff with a little common sense could have re-hired Bush’s chief of protocol I imagine…they didn’t mind keeping a few other Bush people around. That just strengthens my main point though, even if Obama has a protocol guy (which it seems he doesn’t) He is just trying to improvise it on the world stage.
