That’s because our schools and Democrats have spent the last two decades pushing class warfare and RINOs have been spending their time defending, “Despite what you think, we REALLY ARE nice people. Don’t pay attention to those moralistic Christian types. We really are nice people.” Instead they should have spent their time ignoring the concept of nice versus mean, and focused on the concept of capitalism versus socialism. We let them define the argument and we got beat by it. Now Americans, even though they KNOW it’s wrong, believe that it’s the inevitable solution because the focus has been not on whether it should or shouldn’t happen but in what DEGREES it SHOULD happen. Conservatives let themselves be duped into that game and now we’ll all suffer because of it.

Attacking the qualifications of the car czars is a trap. By doing so, you unquestioningly accept the premise that if the czar were qualified, his running of the industry would be justified. You can’t attack on both sides of this (against the czar’s qualifications and the concept of a czar) without basically surrendering on the concept issue by virtue of the qualification issue’s premise. And then, you end up in a quagmire of relativism on the qualification issue.

I bet he could win and I’m sure every additional million he makes has less and less marginal utility. Screw the pay-cut, if his highest value is the country he should serve with pride.

We need someone to say “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore,” then explain exactly why we’re mad and what we want from whom.

The coordinator needs to say:

1. Everyone go to their state capitols on a certain date/time.

2. Make signs. Go to a certain website for ideas.

3. Someone needs to arrange for speakers and media relations.

That someone needs to sing from the rooftops (or from behind the Golden EIB microphone) that they are in charge of these protests.

I’m telling you, Rush is sounding more exasperated than I’ve ever heard him before.

Desperate times call for desperate measures! Folks, I know it’s incredible the mess we’re in. We are in a living nightmare and we have to FIGHT for what we believe in. We have to fight because our ancestors fought for this country (at least mine did). My grandparents would be so incredibly sad and outraged at the mess we’re in. I miss them so much, but at the same time I’m glad they’re not here to see this.

We have to quit talking and start doing.

Nope. Rush enjoys what he does too much. Plus, he’s willing to call a spade a spade, which Presidents can’t do, they have to be more political and circumspect.

We had a good candid candidate a year ago. Problem is that he ran a completely inept campaign. When we get a candidate who isn’t afraid of being wrong every once in a while, who can clearly articulate – in plain language – what his or her principles are and why they’re held dear – then people will vote for that candidate. Regardless of which side of the aisle the candidate stands on.

In short, we need a candidate who hasn’t centered their entire being about the concept of grabbing ahold of the reins of power, who is willing to lay off using the whip on the rest of us, and is willing to go back where they belong when it’s all said and done.

So that leads me to ask – When are you throwing your hat in the ring?

I think that too often, people don’t “get involved” or even care – unless they see that it affects them directly. If they’re not GM shareholders or bondholders or don’t work for an auto related industry – not paying a lot of attention.

When the government comes for their business and their management and their freedom, though – then they’ll snap to attention!

“First they came for the auto executives, and I didn’t care because I wasn’t an auto executive…” Or something like that.

The first real test will be the 2010 election with the 2012 election sealing the deal one way or the other. November, 2012, the American people will have made their decision: Liberty or Tyranny.

After getting off work, I couldn’t get that thought out of my mind. Have we reached the point where all too many of us are willing to accept the rule of Papa ‘Bama now? Sad to say, there probably are many–some of whom are trolls here–who would be content to become Papa ‘Bama’s serfs. A lot of hard work and anguish comes with freedom’s many delights. The most important element of freedom is the ability to choose and making choices is often hard. In a free society, you choose the path you take–and you have to live with the consequences of those choices: Do I major in Engineering or Art? Do I put in those extra hours at work or tell the boss that I have to be with my family? Do I scrimp and cut back on expenses to send my children to private school instead of public? Do I relocate cross-country for the higher salary that will help put my children through college even though it might cause problems at home? Those and a host of other choices both great and small you have to make in your lifetime. That wealthy banker living in his villa and driving the fancy sportscar might well have paid for all that with 80 to 90 hour work weeks, a strained marriage or even a divorce, strained relations with children, and possibly a heart attack.

As for me–No thank you. I’ll keep my freedom.

Obama is a creation of a huge propaganda machine. The media is an intricate part of this machine, and is mostly responsible for Obama’s image. I don’t agree that Obama has done this quite well. On the contrary, the media has done this quite well. Obama himself has already lost the support of European leaders. One leader told Obama today that he is taking America to hell. Trust in Obama is disappearing daily. Obama’s a creation, a vehicle designed to take Liberalism to it’s intended goal. You stupid shit brainless Liberal citizens are the tools used to help the machine reach it’s intended goal. Mindless fools just begging for something to make your lives have meaning. Liberalism preys on your kind.

We will not sit by and allow this assault to continue. We will not sit by and allow our civilian leaders to be destroyed. We will try our best to halt this assault peacefully. We will organize beyond what was expected. I can only hope a peaceful ending comes of this.

I agree Rush did fail. Been listening since 89 and “The American People” he always claims to speak for have lurched ever more to the left since he has been on the air. The right let your side totally overtake all areas of pop culture, government, public education and academia thus indoctrinating an entire generation unopposed.

He stuck with his old medium of radio and let the left outsmart him with the use of PR via the web and 529 groups. You guys thinking he will run for office are delusional. He doesn’t care that much for the country really, just extending his contract. I don’t begrudge him his salary, but don’t try to tell me he has made any meaningful sacrifice for the movement.

Rush didn’t “fail”, and as for your remark that I boldfaced above, that’s just ridiculous. Sure, he wants his contract extended. But of course he cares about this country. Not sure what you’ve been listening to for 2 decades; you can’t fake passion for the country for 2 straight decades. He’s got passion for it, quite obviously.

Everyone here wants to re-make Rush in their image, it seems. Look, he’s a radio talker. Radio’s his medium. Period. He’s an old dog at this game and he’s doing fine with it. He continues to reach a mind-boggling number of people day after day.

His medium is NOT the legislative halls, bandying line-items with nitwit politicians.

The passion he expresses for America is the same passion that millions upon millions of Americans, who live honestly, work hard, pay taxes, and drive their cars with the radio on, also continue to feel.

His best place — absolutely — is to be where he’s talking to this big audience, so that millions will listen, and think, and act accordingly.

Motivations are harder to pin down, but the sudden move towards corporatism and government control of the marketplace seems very ominous indeed. With attacks on compensation and the sometimes forced nature of TARP allocations, it looks as though Obama envisions a massive reordering of what had been a free market to a fair market … with his ideas of fairness trumping all.

Of course that’s what he intends. It’s the “never waste a good crisis” school of thought. It is fascism in the truest sense:
