Isn't it unbelievable that we on the right are defensive about a platform that says that it is not necessarily a great idea to murder little babies.

Bizarro moral inversion.

I'm surprised to hear about that in Arkansas. I have one on my car in Florida. I have one scratch, but we never knew if it was because of the plate or some other reason.

I drive an old Volvo station wagon, so I suppose it makes the Lefties head explode to see a pro-life plate of one of "their" cars!

We have "Support Education" and "Save the Manatee" plates in Florida. I figured divisive political speech much be okay if those ones got through.

I haven't posted much since the forum was overrun with the latest rash of imposters - I would have identified and banned them months ago - but I will break my silence long enough to note that we have such plates in Arkansas, that I have one on my Honda, and that my Honda frequently develops long jagged scratches in parking lots.

(Jill Stanek has a picture of a penny memorial to the children. It’s a glass structure that was done in Mississippi and then filled with 50,000,000 pennies to give a visual understanding and impact to the number).

INC on April 1, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Scroll to the bottom of your link (where the nearly full structure is depicted) and look at the bowed-out glass on the sides of that thing! The glass might be bulletproof, but it's looking less and less penny-proof.

So, after this tedious preamble, I have a question for the HA crowd. Can this weird fixation on the “sacrament” of abortion be explained rationally? As a Christian, I see clear evidence here of a Satanic influence. Just like the Satanic influence was pretty clear in godless regimes of the Stalins, Hitlers and Pol Pot regimes. Agree or disagree?

I don't think it's satanic at all -- humans have free will. The free will of the Democrats is just harkening back to their slaveholding past. Their arguments on why something demonstrably human isn't is just warmed over pap from an earlier age.

I just wanted to make sure that our argument is airtight. She views herself as walking into the lion's den, not realizing that certain people who do that get their bones smashed.

Go take your paranoia medication.

Chekote on March 31, 2009 at 7:28 PM

Take your own and be healthy. It's obvious to anyone who isn't trying to score political points that the poster was only trying to make a point.

We were arguing about what constitutes murder, and you started talking as though it should be whatever a person thinks it is, i.e., some people don't think abortion is murder, so they should be able to have one.

The response, that you're paranoidly claiming was a threat, was only to show you the absurdity of that, not to actually make a threat.

We are now reaping the whirlwind we have sown in our country. The whirlwind is economic; millions of young adults who would be in the workforce today never saw the light of day.

The whirlwind is also moral; as Gary Graham said:

Our willingness to tolerate such a holocaust says volumes of how our entire culture has been coarsened. How life itself has been cheapened. We are told to have sex any time we feel the urge. Condoms are handed out in grade schools. Promiscuity is not only condoned, it’s tacitly encouraged. Illegitimacy has enslaved an entire underclass of our citizens, relegating them to government assistance for a lifetime, bankrupting cities, and holding an entire subculture down in dependent despair. But if you should get pregnant and it’s just not a ‘convenient’ time for you, don’t worry, there are Family Planning Services, funded, thanks to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, by your tax dollars. That inconvenient fetus can be surgically ripped from its uterine moorings, ground up and tossed into the trash like so much garbage. Problem solved, and the mother can resume her egocentric lifestyle. But the scars on that woman’s soul will never quite heal. I’m a man, but I’ve got them on mine.

I’ve heard from liberals the following quote: “We want abortion to be legal…but rare.” And I ask, Why rare? What’s wrong with abortion, that you think it should be a rare occurrence? I’ve had moles removed from my skin. Doctors don’t tell us that a mole removal should be rare. So what’s with this ‘rare’ business? Or is it a tacit agreement that abortion…is plain wrong?

The whirlwind we are reaping is also judgment. I truly believe we are seeing the hand of God's judgment on our country for the slaughter of the 50,000,000 innocents that has taken place through abortion. How could we come to the place where we would do such a thing?

We no longer value life. We no longer value children. Our families are falling apart because we no longer value commitment, vows, loving one another and working out our differences.

A nation that valued unborn children would never have elected a man like Obama who actively fought against giving medical help to babies who survived botched abortions and were born alive. He would rather let them die; a form of infanticide from the days of Rome when unwanted children were abandoned to die. If we valued life, Obama's character would have been abhorrent to the nation and he would never even made it through the primaries.

A man who would not protect the most vulnerable among us from death, is a man devoid of moral character and we are currently seeing that played out on a national level in numerous areas of policy. Those policies are going to hurt, if not harm, all of us at some level.

The most significant impact at the moment is economic. My personal opinion is that this is the outcome of too many in our country subverting decisions based on wisdom and morality to decisions driven by personal convenience and affluence. This has changed our culture to the point where we elect and leave far too many in government who are blatantly corrupt in their lust for power and control. Sometimes I think God's judgment consists of just letting us go our own way and reaping the natural outcome. To change a familiar phrase, those who live by convenience and love of money, will die by convenience and love of money.

Although I think politics certainly plays a part, I believe there is more than that going on. This is not debate over educational policies or taxes. There is great evil afoot here. If you have ever seen any of the pictures of aborted babies you will know what I mean. They will turn your stomach. We have a wholesale destruction of human life going on. Over 50,000,000 babies have been killed.

I agree. I'm a Christian as well and I see the same thing. Abortion trumps all with the Dems despite its destructive impact upon all involved. Jesus said that Satan was a murderer from the beginning and a liar. We know Satan is a deceiver and the purpose of his deception is destruction of human beings and to keep us from turning to God.

One of my pastors once noted that in the Bible just before the Exodus the Hebrew babies were slaughtered and then right after the birth of Christ the babies of Bethlehem were slaughtered. He thought this indicated a lashing out of Satan against God. You probably know where I'm going with this, because the appalling slaughter of abortion has claimed far more lives than the Egyptians or Herod's soldiers. My pastor wondered as he saw in history an unprecedented killing of children (he was connecting the dots he saw) if this was not an indication of Satan bent on destruction because he knows his time is short before the return of Christ.

It seems like simple constituent politics. There are a large number of people who feel very strongly about the issue on both sides and the opposing parties have adapted to serve them.

Part of the reason for the polarization is Roe. Since the Court took the issue largely out of the political arena it has allowed each party to cater to the polarities without the need to actually craft legislation that addresses the heart of the issue.

I know that I am going out on a limb here, given the diversity of religious affiliations (including none) on this post.

So........I have always been intrigued by the fervor with which the Dems hew to the abortion issue. In a rational world, reasonable people would agree that we should take every possible step to limit the number of abortions. Studies of abortion's long term damage to women - both in terms of their fertility and their mental health are covered up by a hostile media. And yet, we have Planned Parenthood, who gets an absolute free pass by the media, FULLY invested in a high and rising abortion rate. Somehow, this conflict of interest is never pointed out. And we have wonderful health professionals like Killer Tiller, who will perform late term abortions based on specious MENTAL health issues.

So, after this tedious preamble, I have a question for the HA crowd. Can this weird fixation on the "sacrament" of abortion be explained rationally? As a Christian, I see clear evidence here of a Satanic influence. Just like the Satanic influence was pretty clear in godless regimes of the Stalins, Hitlers and Pol Pot regimes. Agree or disagree?

Chekote,

I loved that tattoo thing you had while you were on Voyager, by the way. Did you have to do a lot of peyote to get the spirit guide thing going? I am thinking maybe you are having some flashbacks or something and that is confusing your thinking.

For the left, the presence of dissent is tyranny, and a desire for life is a threat of death.

Perfect moral inversion.

I agree completely. I have always found it odd that people who CLAIM to support freedom and choice are constantly seeking to suppress the voices of people who do not agree with them. I guess your choices only extend to killing babies. Things like freedom of speech and freedom to assemble are no longer a choice for you if you are against them.

Chekote,

Here is another link for you to look over...

Christian Adoption Online

Please note that link has not only adoption services for the adopting family, but a service to mothers who have an unplanned pregnancy. They will help the mother find a family that they approve, to adopt the baby.

This following quoted paragraph is from this site...
Baby Adoption

Waiting time for adoption depends largely on the type of child. If prospective adoptive parents are working with an adoption agency in North America and are seeking a healthy newborn baby, their wait time could be eight years.

So now you are telling me that with a waiting time of up to eight years in North America, we cannot find adoptive parent for virtually all of the healthy children that are being aborted?

Yes, people should be more responsible and avoid a pregnancy if they do not want a child. But the correct time to make the decision is before conception, not afterward. There are plenty of safe and effective birth control methods available. Use them! Allowing a mother to avoid the TRUE responsibility for her body by killing her child is not how you create a responsible society. It is exactly how you get people to make poor decisions repeatedly.

People will raise or lower their actions to the expectations placed upon them. If abortions were not available, less people would need them in the first place. those that did become pregnant could easily find an adoptive family. Our tendency to excuse irresponsible behavior and find new ways to avoid our responsibilities has not resulted in a better society.

Their concern for the child extends up to delivery. After that, sorry you are on your own.

Chekote on March 31, 2009 at 10:04 AM
Not so. Check out

www.HomeforMothers.com

And I am sure there are many, many more out there and if not a home, counseling, clothing, pantries, etc.

All one needs to do is pray, have faith, and reach out for help. It worked for me.(not this home in particular but the reaching out for help to a faith group)

The irony is that many pro-lifers would be the first to scream about paying welfare for teenage/unwed mothers. Their concern for the child extends up to delivery. After that, sorry you are on your own.

Chekote on March 31, 2009 at 10:04 AM

Ah yes, the great understanding of the pro-death crowd. Do you have the slightest idea how many pro-life folks adopt "unwanted" children every year? Any idea why so many families must wait years to adopt a child? Because the pro-death crowd kills their children rather than give them life, which also denies families from adopting.

So take your sanctimonious straw men and stuff them.

And maybe you should consider refraining from screwing around so much, too.

That difference is merely a matter of a few short weeks/months. Unless you kill it, it will become a baby.

It is a baby — and a child. We talk about “with child”, not “with fetus” or “with zygote” or “with embryo”.

The language we speak knows, regardless of how the advocates of childkilling spin it.

Uncle, you looked at an unkind snip of my statement, courtesy of Chekote. I wanted to make perfectly clear that I believe "it" should be afforded the full protection of law and society from conception.

Too bad about Chekote, tho'. It's said to see a diminished ability to process language, and its tragic consequences of self-delusion.
