Apparently after a correction, the lead is down to 25 now. And that’s not factoring in the absentee ballots.

Doughboy on April 1, 2009 at 4:20 PM

That is correct:

Total 610/610 Murphy 77,217 Tedisco 77,192

It’s surly racist rednecks like you and your husband that makes having BHO as president even more satisfying. Now go off and clean your trailer. Lord knows it needs it.

Didn’t Gillbrand win this by 28%?
therightwinger on April 1, 2009 at 10:25 AM

Point made. Gillibrand won by a significant margin just a few months ago so this election represents a major shift in voter attitude.
For the record: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/NYSBOE/elections/2008/General/USCongress08.pdf
Scroll down to the 20th Congressional District.

The closeness of these races is starting to freak me out a little. You start getting to the “what are the odds of that happening…”

Count to 10 on April 1, 2009 at 10:47 AM

That implies it is a game of chance...

were I blessed with Soros' money I'd start cross referencing the voting rolls with the obituaries and see how many dead people were "so concerned I had to vote"....

The donks have ACORN to make EVERY race within striking distance forever....

the GOP has to win 60% or more of the vote to be safe.

The DCCC's Chris Van Hollen said it best:

"From 21 points down to securing a majority of the vote tonight, congratulations to Scott Murphy who ran an extraordinary campaign focused on his record as a successful businessman who helped to create jobs and his strong support for President Obama's economic recovery act. As votes continue to be counted, we're confident that Scott Murphy will expand his lead.

"Scott Murphy's strong showing in this district where Republicans outnumber Democrats by more than 70,000 represents a rejection of the obstructionist agenda and scare tactics that have become the hallmark of House Republicans."

Looks like the dem will not be a sore loser like Norm.

Somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 military and absentee ballots remain uncounted

Surely our GIs will put Tedisco over the top...?

Is this Republican fool actually going to lose this eat? In a state where taxes are about to be higher than California, where the governor is unpopular, where Wall Street and all it's bailed out banks reside? How could this one slip away from him?

The absentee ballots should benefit him, considering his considerable early lead and that the military tends to go for the Republican, but the fact that it is so close is embarassing and almost ensures another weak willed and unreliable fiscal conservative in the house.
