Video: The funniest thing Meghan McCain’s ever seen

No foolin’. She sent out the word on Twitter a little more than an hour ago that this is now officially the gold standard of comedy in the McCain household. It’s so painfully lame that I forced myself to reread her Tweets in desperate search of a hint of sarcasm. No dice. Thus do crushes die, my friends.
If you need something to wash the taste of unfunny out of your mouth, I recommend “Captain Coulier, Space Explorer” (content warning). Captain Kirk as a slacker jackass bored nearly to tears by space? What could go wrong?
Update (Ed): Er, wasn’t this the same young lady who got so offended over cracks about her weight? Quite the hypocrite.

For the record, at least 20 million voters listen to Rush’s AM radio show. Dems have been trying to figure out how to tap into that market and failed repeatedly.

unwashed minion on March 28, 2009 at 9:50 PM
Terrible. Methinks Meghan McCain only liked it because it put her in a positive light.
I did laugh though: At the assertion Meghan McCain is sensible and lives in something remotely approximating the real world.
Also, vis-a-vis losing the under 30 vote in 5 elections:
We apparently won over some of the people who didn’t vote Republican in 1980 then, didn’t we? Considering they would no longer be “under 30″ after 3 election cycles.
Good job there, moron. The under 30 block is a joke.

As much as I appreciate Rush’s political analyses of Obama and the Democrats, Rush is running some parodies of John McCain that make Jabba the Rush pale in comparison. In fact, the “Brokeback Mountain” parody of John McCain that Rush runs is disgusting. It was bad enough during the lection campaign for Rush to be running McCain parodies. Now, Rush has been continuing to do so even though McCain has been opposing all of Obama’s bailout and budget billls.
So what if McCain’s daughter finds humor in Jabba the Rush. Why not? She could get tough and ask Rush if he ever flew a jet off a Navy carrier and into combat, conducting bombing missions braving heavy enemey air defenses? The answer is no; in fact, Rush never even wore the uniform. Also, she could ask about how much torture in the service of the United States could Rush have withstood as a P.O.W. had Rush ever wore the uniform (which he did not), flew combat bombing missions in a Navy jet and got shot down by a surface to air missile (which he did not)? Not much torture has to be the answer.
Rush needs to stop running parodies of McCain, especialy when McCain has been opposing all of Obama’s bailout and budget billls. Only then might I find anything problematic about Meeghan McCain finding humor in Jabba the Rush.

John McCain ran out his war hero creds after this election. He bears responsibility for going soft on Obama and not hitting him hard on his record.
He allowed Obama to define him, and it was easily enough done, since McCain spent the early years of the Bush years ganging up on his former opponent in the Republican primaries with Congressional Democrats. He also earned plenty of enmity within the base.
Also, Rush never parodied or attacked McCain once he was the nominee.

So many nights AllahP has blogged into the moonlight
Watching it fade with the dawn
Wanting Meagan with him, warm in the moonlight
Praying to his patron saint, Christopher Hitchens, that his chance was not gone
Out of mind, out of sight,
Till the moon rose again tonight
All at once, he felt a thill
In a spill of moonlight, she was there
Though he held very still
There was something pulling in the air
When she vociferated through the dark
He tried hard to hold his ground
He believed he still had a choice
Till the sound of so much beer money in her voice
Turned his whole world around

Meghan Mccain…the Paris Hilton of politics..only fatter.
Deanna on March 28, 2009 at 10:16 PM
You guys should stop being so mean to Meghan. She’s young and it seems like she still figuring things out. She appears to be a decent human being. Yeah she might disagree with Republicans on some issues? So what? I know Democrats always get labeled “open-minded” but I’ve always thought Republicans tend to be more open-minded because we have more ideological diversity in our party than the Dems. For example, there are plenty of pro-choicers in our party even though the party platform is pro-life. How many pro-life Dems can you name?

How is Meghan McCain a Republican? No one seems to have the answer. Genetics does not count.
Jamson64 on March 28, 2009 at 10:20 PM
I have yet to see articulated the way(s) in which Megs McCain does not disagree with Republicans. If that were a little clearer, she’d probably take less flak.
As it is, when her face isn’t stuffed with cream horns she’s gabbing about how awful the Right is.
Lehosh on March 28, 2009 at 10:21 PM
Well for one thing she doesn’t like all the spending Obama and the Dem Congress is doing. That sounds very Republican to me.

If she is still figuring things out… then going on the national circut and making herself into the face of the young Republicans is putting the cart before the horse.
Perhaps Ms. McCain should get grounded in core beliefs before she takes a generation of youth with her on her personal journey.

ZJPolitical on March 28, 2009 at 10:40 PM
She may be a Republican but she is not a conservative. She seems to have no idea what conservative means. It does not mean “Old” or “Boring” or “out of touch”. It means that you care deeply about individual freedom and that you will fight every effort to take that away. It means you take the time to read something other than People magazine scanning for or photos of yourself. It means you get your news and information from sources that are not aired on Comedy Central because there is a time for satire but real life is running out of time right now.
If she ever plans on being married and raising kids she needs to cut the crap, get educated and do something good for the country instead of self-aggrandizing for free dinners out and pointless publicity.
BrideOfRove on March 28, 2009 at 10:41 PM
She doesn’t think the Bush family made the country go to war for oil, so that makes her a Republican these days.

I do agree with you.
Jamson64 on March 28, 2009 at 10:43 PM
24 years has little to do with it. Her 72 year old father has embraced the concept for decades.
katy on March 28, 2009 at 10:43 PM
Baloney. She decided to remain in the spotlight, she needs to get used to the good and the bad. And being young is no excuse for being arrogant and egotistical. She seems to think her opinion is more important simply because of her father, not because of her own accomplishments. That’s why she’s the Paris Hilton of politics. As for her weight..again, if she doesn’t want it criticized she can lose weight or stay out of the spotlight.
Deanna on March 28, 2009 at 10:43 PM
When I was her age I had purchased a home without the help of parents, was married raising my first child and had voted for Ronald Reagan. If she hasn’t figured it out by now she needs to be mocked if she wants to pretend to be a grown up.

Jamson64 on March 28, 2009 at 10:46 PM
Your not that far off. In 1950, the Rockefellers bankrolled a new liberal committee for the GOP, called Republican Advance. Their first goal was to unseat the anti-New Deal Taft.

I believe it may be possible that you rather overrate the charm of your own lyrics, my good chap. For one thing, they do seem monstrous critical for an inconsequent subject, particularly one on the Princess of Frivolity.
PercyB on March 28, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Does anyone else find it a little odd that conservative guys are allowed to be fat slobs, but skinny women like Laura Ingraham are allowed to call Meghan McCain fat without consequences? There’s no one fatter IN the GOP than Rush Limbaugh. I think that’s part of the idea behind the cartoon. I didn’t actually click it because…why, but just from the image.
DeathToMediaHacks on March 28, 2009 at 10:58 PM

In an interview with someone in the lib media she mentioned inheriting her “maverickness” from her dad. And so far she has attacked conservatives ( Ann Coulter; Rush Limbaugh etc) who were most critical of her father during the election. At least during the primaries. Anyone thinking this might be a case of “Johnny Mac” revenge?
After he sic his pitbulls on Sarah Palin barely two weeks after the election, I am inclined to believe he is capable of anything.
