Video: The obligatory “LeBron shows just how easy it is” clip

Just posted by CBS, a palate cleanser destined for mega-viral status within 24 hours. If I didn’t know who the other guy is, I’d say this was a Nike marketing campaign using CGI to fake the shot. It’s not. That’s Steve Kroft and this is an outtake from “60 Minutes.” One shot, one take — from the top of the key on the other side of the court.
Feel free to use this as an open thread if you’re watching the tournament on this otherwise very slow news night.

Let’s cap his pay at one million.

No comments about the US Marshal found dead in Juarez…..?
Seven Percent Solution on March 26, 2009 at 7:55 PM
that’s how easy obama led all the sheeples to believe CHANGE would be.. hahahaha
gatorboy on March 26, 2009 at 7:56 PM
Doesn’t like Glenn Beck, but he likes Basketball and fat blondes.
Hey, AP, what color are ya?
keep the change on March 26, 2009 at 7:57 PM
One bus coming up!!Haha
canopfor on March 26, 2009 at 7:57 PM
The guy was a thug… He was stealing crap, which is why he was in Juarez.
John_Locke on March 26, 2009 at 7:59 PM
i hate myself for not having talent
Drunk Report on March 26, 2009 at 8:01 PM
Best 60 Minutes clip evah! (Of course most of their stories are lying trash.)
Christian Conservative on March 26, 2009 at 8:02 PM
He’ll probably be Europe’s David Beckham before it’s all said and done. Especially with taxes and regulations in this country getting like it will.
ThackerAgency on March 26, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Congress should rush through a bill to tax this guy at 90%. It isn’t fair that he makes so much money
gatorboy on March 26, 2009 at 8:13 PM
It’s not “fair” to people who weren’t born with his skill, and insulting to them as well.
He shouldn’t be allowed to play basketball.
notagool on March 26, 2009 at 8:13 PM
He was still a U.S. marshal deputy who was murdered. Stealing crap doesn’t take anything away from the fact he was killed.
amerpundit on March 26, 2009 at 8:15 PM
“Slow news night” I guess you ran out of Palin bashing stuff and you don’t want to look into the Tres Sec trying to take over the economy.
KBird on March 26, 2009 at 8:17 PM
Reminds me of the Tiger bouncing golf ball to fairway vid. Unreal.
toliver on March 26, 2009 at 8:21 PM
Terrific.
Allahpundit on March 26, 2009 at 8:25 PM
weird feeling, to be unwelcome in your own house? you open the refrigerator door and the cockroaches are in there chewing on a chicken leg and telling you to go out and get some tobasco for it.
eh on March 26, 2009 at 8:32 PM
This clip is obviously racist! Just ask Prof. Hill from Philadelphia who used to be on RedEye…!
SouthernGent on March 26, 2009 at 8:35 PM
Well that might be “One Take” but have you even thought what Teh One could do? Same shot, back to basket, two handed over head—every time. Just believe.
PC14 on March 26, 2009 at 8:35 PM
I should mention I have Duke and Memphis in the Final 2. Yeah, yeah…I know.
SouthernGent on March 26, 2009 at 8:36 PM
I say we make Labron SecTres. At least his desperation shots GO IN.
Changucopia on March 26, 2009 at 8:39 PM
Used to? He was on last night!
robblefarian on March 26, 2009 at 8:44 PM
Witness.
I’ve always liked Lebron, even if he has devastated me 3 years in a row after year by eliminating my beloved Washington Wizards.
jimmy the notable on March 26, 2009 at 8:48 PM
ZING
jimmy the notable on March 26, 2009 at 8:49 PM
I mean, I love you AP and you’re the reason I keep coming back to this site, but when somebody gets a good shot in on you, you have to acknowledge it. At least that’s what I’m told Alpha Males do.
jimmy the notable on March 26, 2009 at 8:50 PM
Something smells fishy. I doubt this had much to do with his job but more with his “side job”. But i need more info.
Greed on March 26, 2009 at 8:51 PM
Awesome shot.
James referring to himself as “One-take” puts me in mind of another guy with the same nickname. A movie star back in the day, so-named by his director because the dude always nailed his performance on the first try. The film crew made up “1-take” t-shirts for the guy to wear.
Perhaps you remember him.
Mike D. on March 26, 2009 at 8:53 PM
I don’t get to watch it as much. He’s still a tool I take it?
SouthernGent on March 26, 2009 at 8:53 PM
Now if he could that ten times in a row blindfolded in the dark in the middle of a hurricane I might, might, be tempted to watch professional basketball.
Tax is sorry a$$ at the 99.95% level with the state and local governments getting the rest.
Bubba Redneck on March 26, 2009 at 8:54 PM
Sorry lost something

SouthernGent on March 26, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Not a guy I’d want to play HORSE against.
DarkKnight3565 on March 26, 2009 at 9:14 PM
I am a big Cavs fan so I checked out the cavs site to see if they had anything on this. It mentions that they filmed him a few places, including a concert for our Dear Leader. Fabulous. I really would like not to have to see that. I can assume without having to “witness”.
Hurting Head on March 26, 2009 at 9:16 PM
how long before we see James permanently in NY?
Jamson64 on March 26, 2009 at 9:17 PM
Never. Don’t go there. Cleveland FOREVER!
Hurting Head on March 26, 2009 at 9:22 PM
All Canadian children are taught at a very young age that James Naismith invented basketball for those unfortunate enough not to have the skills to bowl better than a 129. However, discussing the fact that it took ten years to finally cut the bottoms out of the peach baskets is a national claim to shame usually best avoided.
13blackcats on March 26, 2009 at 9:24 PM
Aha! Finally the day comes that my username is relevant to the discussion!
LeBron on March 26, 2009 at 9:29 PM
I gotta admit, this is funny!
About the clip, don’t you just get the feeling that he almost wills that ball in there? He’s watching it, and he’s willing it. I swear he can.
Alana on March 26, 2009 at 9:45 PM
Every practice he launches from beyond half-court to try and gauge for accuracy. It started after he nailed that last second bomb in Boston two seasons ago.
He’s not going to NY. No one has the guaranteed money, so it’s a matter of what talent and title shot does a team have. Right now, everything outside of The Cavs is a step backwards.
budfox on March 26, 2009 at 9:47 PM
I was just asking John…………
………. if you are right, then we have a corrupt US Marshal killed in Juarez.
That’s not news worthy with what’s going on at the border and how our own Federal Law Enforcement Agencies are being affective…………?
I’m not making any judgements until the facts come out,
……… but why not let the facts come out?
Seven Percent Solution on March 26, 2009 at 9:55 PM
In High School gym class, I made that shot, same distance, with a volley ball, except I did it with a hook shot, and I’m a 5′9″ white guy.
Where’s my Nike contract? Lol!
OxyCon on March 26, 2009 at 10:22 PM
Damn, that’s sick. Makes it all the more impressive how my beloved Rockets held him without an assist for an entire game last month(the first and only time in his whole career). I never thought anyone could threaten to average a triple double for an entire season like the Big O did, but LeBron is the one dude who has a shot.

Come on, that was a half @ssed granny shot. Try over the head next time! Just kidding.
And they want to cap execs pay while athletes rake in millions…for doing what?
Vigilante on March 26, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Yep, along with anyone in Hollywood, the MSM, government… Oh, wait: why would you do that to your greatest allies?
Send_Me on March 26, 2009 at 11:19 PM
AP,
Great vid. Did you see this one?
John on March 26, 2009 at 11:26 PM

last nights half-time 65 ft. buzzer beater by missouri was better than this shot…
gatorboy on March 27, 2009 at 8:12 AM
I love watching LeBron during every Cavs game.
He’s about the only rich Liberal that makes me happy. Then again, I don’t really know if he’s actually liberal.
ConDem on March 27, 2009 at 11:05 AM
From Jordan’s departure until LeBron entered the NBA, I rarely watched the NBA. Maybe Game 7 of the finals if it got there. Even during Jordan’s tenure I didn’t watch much.
Now, I watch quite a bit. If I’m able to view an entire game, it’s practically guaranteed that LeBron will do something amazing at some point.
EconomicNeocon on March 27, 2009 at 11:08 AM
Well, he didn’t call “bank”
EconomicNeocon on March 27, 2009 at 11:10 AM
Wait you mean CBS wouldn’t fake something? Not Even 60 Minutes?????
Rbastid on March 27, 2009 at 11:39 AM
jus’ cause I wasn’t there to block!
gary on March 27, 2009 at 11:43 AM
I still remember his and Kobe’s behavior and performance at the Olympics, and I still think more of them because of it.
Class and character are much greater than skill.
spmat on March 27, 2009 at 11:46 AM
Just one of the reasons Cleveland is going to go all the way this year.
RightXBrigade on March 27, 2009 at 12:06 PM
He’s got nothin’ on that kid in the commercial that goes over the house and into the back yard for ‘2′.

Enough with the tired Allahpundit bashing. Getting old. Just sayin. ~B

Cap Katie Couric!

Great shoot. As with anything in life you have to find out how many misses it took before he found the proper posture, effort, etc. necessary to make the shoot everytime.
