An instant classic from Olby Watch, worth filing away for the next time our modern-day Murrow decides to lecture Glenn Beck on the dangers of demagoguery and demonization. On the right, cast in the role of the “voice of reason”: A man well practiced at race-baiting and known to reach for Slobodan Milosevic analogies when describing the GOP’s campaign tactics. On the left, in the role of sober newsman: A guy given to comparing conservatives to jihadists and calling his chief competitors “worse than Al Qaeda.” Serious primetime political discussion, MSNBC-style. Click the image to watch.
Update: More comedy gold from Media Blog, as the sinister force behind Fox News’s latest anti-Olby conspiracy is revealed to be…

For a moment I was like, “wait, Dean urged civility to President Bush?!” Then I snapped back to the present, and shed a tear.
pifactorial on March 26, 2009 at 3:53 PM
Won’t. Watch.
D2Boston on March 26, 2009 at 3:54 PM
Not watching, but the media blog link is great. Olby’s greatest enemy is…. well, you have to click. Fantastic.
Vanceone on March 26, 2009 at 3:55 PM
Nah, I don’t need ethics advice from these a-holes. I’ll feel free to give their president an equal amount of respect that they gave mine the last 8 years.
ErinF on March 26, 2009 at 3:55 PM
As a fairly large GE stockholder, any way that I can sue them for making my stock go from 60 bucks in the Jack Welch days to 8 bucks in the current Jeff Immeldt/keith Olbermann incompetent jackass days???????????????

Wait I thought all you Obama wannabe hipsters were elite when it came to using these types of Fisher Price Web 2.0 toy…errr…technologies?
God bless you NintendoDS voters, glad you are running the country now. Just pretend the toxic assests are some boss creature at the end of one of your games. I am sure Giethner already has purchased the hint book on the US economy hoping to find cheat codes.
ClassicCon on March 26, 2009 at 3:56 PM
I won’t click either.

Let’s not forget this lovely little gem from Dr. Governor Dean.

What a terrible person.
Proud Rino on March 26, 2009 at 3:58 PM
Saying bad things about the president is not the way to win the moderates in the middle?
Up is down. Day is night. White is black.
Watching that clip causes chest pains.

Me no clicky. Me no want hurt head.
littleguy on March 26, 2009 at 3:58 PM
I dont know exactly what an assclown is, but Olby fits the word to a tee.
MDWNJ on March 26, 2009 at 3:59 PM
It is when all the moderates can’t stand the President.
Proud Rino on March 26, 2009 at 4:00 PM
If they get any more civil Obama will have to move to Vermont where they’re cool with that sort of thing.
TheUnrepentantGeek on March 26, 2009 at 4:00 PM
Howard Dean as far as I know as head of the DNC kept his damn mouth shut, the cameras away, the telephones going, his people IN LINE, and led them to victories in the House, Senate, and Presidency without trying to be anyone’s friend.
KUDOS when KUDOS are due.
Marcus on March 26, 2009 at 4:00 PM
I am all for treating Obama the same way the press and the Demomarxists treat Bush.
Elric66 on March 26, 2009 at 4:01 PM
You guys are really missing out by not watching. Olby Watch did a genius job of editing.

The funny thing is that this clip will be exposed to ten times the original viewers by being posted at Hot Air.

Olberdouche was the worst sportscaster on ESPN; I cheered when he was not re-hired by ESPN.
Now, he is the worst person evah! Well second worst to the big 0! Sorry for the confusion.

I can’t want the link. Just seeing the picture makes me ill. How could they fit both those massive egos onto one TV screen? It must be HDTV.
kingsjester on March 26, 2009 at 4:02 PM
It’s like they live in a parallel universe. Everything they said before January 2009 in their world disappears in this world. Or never existed. Or…?
Amazing.
The most astounding part – if it’s possible to single out one segment – was when Olbermann asked whether there was a “double standard” that allowed Republicans to get away with inflammatory statements while the Democrats could not.
Geez……

I’m going to go lie down now.
kingsjester on March 26, 2009 at 4:03 PM
As AP said, click the link. Olbermann Watch juxtaposed Olbermann’s actual smears with Dean’s condemnation of such smears.
SteveMG on March 26, 2009 at 4:04 PM
The Olberman/Dean clip and the earlier link to Nancy Pelosi pictures… I’m thinking you might be trying to harm us.

Seriously, Olbermann makes me ill and I can not stand to watch him either. Trust me, if you hate Olbermann and want to laugh your a$$ off, watch this. It’s only about a minute and a half long.
carbon_footprint on March 26, 2009 at 4:07 PM
Not only is it worth watching but some of the comments at the bottom are worth reading. :)
milwife88 on March 26, 2009 at 4:07 PM
From the moment of his election win, I vowed to give Obama every courtesy, temperance, and respect they gave Mr. Bush.
In other words Mr.Dean. You reap what you sow.

canditaylor68 on March 26, 2009 at 4:18 PM
It’s still tough to watch. Especially the red faced Olbermann telling the president to “shut up”.

Seriously, you’re missing a great, great clip.

True, that part made me cringe. Keith is not fit to clean Bush’s shoes.

Edward R. Olbermann is such a douche.

I dare to go a step further and call him a “homegrown terrorist”. Why do I believe this? Well, just take a look at the amount of damage he’s caused the country in just over 2 months’ time. Irreversible, irreparable damage.
His plan is to take the country down to rubble, and there’s nothing to stop him. Certainly not any of the GOP in congress.
The world’s terrorists are giddy. He makes their job so easy.
Homegrown terrorist.
ErinF on March 26, 2009 at 4:28 PM
My grandmother and both my red-hat wearing aunts put together never wore as much makeup as Keith Olbermann.
AubieJon on March 26, 2009 at 4:29 PM
Hilarious! My wife’s company was worst person of the day…told her it was one of the proudest moments in my life…they now use it in a promo video & it’s great for her business..now if I could only attract Keith’s venom…
DCJeff on March 26, 2009 at 4:29 PM
Ditto. But they are cute clothes.
Cindy Munford on March 26, 2009 at 4:30 PM
I would rather poke a sharp stick in my eye than click on that.
kirkill on March 26, 2009 at 4:30 PM
If we lived in a more rational age, if we had a majority population of mature adults, utter clowns like Olbermann would have no notoriety at all. He’d be anonymous. The man couldn’t be more ridiculous if he tried and yet he’s featured on a major (relatively speaking) news network.
Django on March 26, 2009 at 4:31 PM
Ever seen two howler monkeys cavorting on a zoo tire swing? There, for all those who refuse to watch, I described the vid for you.
Bishop on March 26, 2009 at 4:33 PM
I dont want to generalize….but all you dumbos who dont want to waste 90 seconds of your oh-so-valuable time (which is why you are on Hot Air in the first place)are rather pathetic.
Please dont click…just keep your dumbass noses in the air.

That was so worth it. Hilarious! Great post!
Babino on March 26, 2009 at 4:37 PM
I broke down and watched it. Great editing. Double standards like this are too big not to notice.
kingsjester on March 26, 2009 at 4:37 PM
Guess he took his meds that day.
Fox needs to move Glenn Beck’s show to 7pm. This would help O’Reilly as well and with any luck with the ratings gaps between Beck/Matthews and O’Reilly/Olby matchups would lead to MSNBC folding since GE needs to save money.
gsherin on March 26, 2009 at 4:37 PM
You people who are refusing to watch this are probably the ones who will enjoy it the most. Click the damn thing and enjoy the sweet, sweet Schadenfreude.
Dudes, Olbermann literally squirms in discomfort because he knows that Howard Dean is basically calling him a douchebag on television. It’s awesome!
Kensington on March 26, 2009 at 4:38 PM
OK then I guess it’s going to be “palingenetic ultra(trans)nationalist neo-fascist” from here on out then.
econavenger on March 26, 2009 at 4:39 PM
I heard they may be changing the Fox lineup to be:
Smith, Beck, O’Reilly, Hannity, Levin (dumping Greta)
Not set in stone, but that’s what I heard. What an amazing lineup that would be.

I like the bit where Dean mentions the Democrats strong disagreement with Bush regarding raising the national debt – given how much Obama is raising it and Deans silence about it I’m left to wonder if he meant to say they thought Bush should have run the debt up faster.
