Quote of the day
posted at 10:35 pm on March 24, 2009 by Allahpundit
“What kind of politician brings a teleprompter to a news conference?
A careful one…
‘At the same time, the rest of us can’t afford to demonize every investor or entrepreneur who seeks to make a profit. That drive is what has always fueled our prosperity, and it is what will ultimately get these banks lending and our economy moving once more,’ he said.
It was a carefully modulated statement, and Obama — relying on a familiar crutch — read it off a flat-screen monitor perched at the back of the East Room.”

Oh how I wish the leader was powerless. He’s wasted no time, given no one a chance to stop him as yet.
He’s already spent more money than anyone could have predicted. Barack Obama, the son of a visiting Kenyan student and an experimenting college freshman, has now spent more money than any human being in history. And that is only the beginning of the money he intends to waste.
With the force of his office he has forced us into financial ruin. And the world will follow… Then he will remake the world as a paradise for himself and his cronies while the rest of us sulk over the unfairness of nominating John McCain.
It is We the People who are powerless in the wake of this Madman Tyrant.

You know we’re screwed economically when we’re taking orders from a guy who didn’t seem to understand the benefits of an interest-bearing checking account until 2005, has owned two stocks in his life (bought and sold in the same year), and has his book royalties buried in tax-exempt bonds while his jacking off kills the stock market.
I love how the guy who didn’t give a damn to charity until about 2006 suddenly starts scolding journalists about charitable giving.
And by the way, paying ever increasing taxes is not altruistic, and it’s not patriotic. The federal government shouldn’t be doing much more than building the interstate highways, administering the federal court system, and defending the borders and coasts. Anything more should be revisited.
Eliminated all the money coming out of Washington, and you get a wonderful side-benefit of eliminating that entire seemy class of Washington lobbyists.

“What kind of politician brings a teleprompter to a news conference?”
A dumb one. Obama is at times eloquent and portrays an image of intelligence but he is not smart. His off the cuff remarks demonstrate that and the fact that he is wrong on almost every issue.
Does a smart guy with political aspirations go to Trinity United and hang out with Bill Ayers? Even if he agrees with them he was an idiot for not seeing the potential problem of associating with them. Does a smart guy vote “present” constantly or not bother to vote at all? Does a smart person deliberately suppress his academic history?
Does a smart person allow his stimulus bill to be written by Nancy Pelosi? Does a smart guy nominate one cabinet pick after another with ethics and tax problems? The list of his screwups is growing by the day. The country needs to face the fact that not only have we elected a green, naive man with no executive experience at the most critical point in recent history, he is also an idiot who knows virtually nothing about the economy or national security. He only knows what the radicals he associated with told him in his formative years.

BTW, related to the QOTD, nobody seems to have caught one of The Precedent’s funnier off-teleprompter riffs. In response to the question about charitable deductions, the idiot messiah tried to give a little example of his real point:
In that sense, what it would do is it would equalize. When I give $100, I’d get the same amount of deduction as when some, a bus driver who’s making $50,000 a year, or $40,000 a year, gives that same $100. Right now, he gets 28 percent, he gets to write off 28 percent. I get to write off 39 percent. I don’t think that’s fair.
It’s interesting how the moron takes something very simple and easy – all people get tax deductions, at their brackets in the natural way, for charitable donations – and, yet, now the tax brackets are “unfair”. Even giving the moron the progressive tax brackets he so obssesses over, he’s still not satisfied. So, following the stellar reasoning, here, if we let him raise the top tax rate to 90%, he would argue that the charitable tax deduction is even MORE UNFAIR for the low earner in relation to the high earner – which was the central point he framed his twisted notion of “fairness” upon. If he raises the top tax rate, then the charitable deduction becomes more unfair. Interesting how that works.
Following The Precedent’s logic a little further yields: If he lowered the top bracket to the same as the low earner’s bracket, then the charitable deduction would be FAIR, in Idiotmessiahville.
It’s also interesting how the charities, themselves, never came into his discussion. It was all about “The Federal Government”. This issue is going to be huge, I think, because his attitude about it says so much and reveals his true self. He uses an argument on the unfairness of the progressive tax structure to support denying charitable deductions. The guy is just a total fruitcake.
progressoverpeace on March 25, 2009 at 4:01 AM

Fruit has nothing to do with it. He’s Nuts!

All kind of like if a restaurant overcharged you by twofold then you should pay twofold the tip.
MB4 on March 25, 2009 at 4:25 AM
Exactly. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard him say it. The Precedent steals the argument for the fairness of a flat tax, but perverts it into some strange form to try and argue against the relative fairness of private charitable contributions in a non-flat tax system, all in a bid to kill off non-governmental charities. Just unreal.
progressoverpeace on March 25, 2009 at 4:36 AM
Taxing Charities.
Huh!
Kini on March 25, 2009 at 4:45 AM
Big time. And it is such a despicable position that I can hardly find words for it. The Precedent is, essentially, holding private charities hostage, as he works towards killing them off, entirely. Utterly despicable. But that’s what a drive for revenge looks like. It ain’t pretty.
I sent Rush an email about it, but I figure he must have gotten thousands about this press conference. I’m sure Steve Forbes, or someone, will pick up on it eventually.

This is more like some type of government propaganda event that you would see in a country like Zimbabway or Iran. This is all just a big show. Stop the video at 10 seconds. NO BLIND EYES.
Obama has low reading comprehension and refuses to do his homework. He’s the sort of student who says that the teacher didn’t make an assignment to excuse his incomplete work. Members of Congress provide Obama their alternative plans in print, yet he persists in denying the truth.
Obama can’t admit his own faults because he refuses to see himself as he is; he is still stuck in the juvenile mode feigning to represent omniscience and omnipotence. There’s no pleasure in being subjugated to the messianic role when personal sacrifice is required FROM THE ONE. Much grander to simply live high on the Pennsylvania Street Mt. Olympus hog hiding behind white marble columns. Obama wishes he were Thor, son of the leader of souls Odin. Instead, he’s just an illegitimate Goblin King, impotent to bless, potent to curse so long as his flock permits.
Impeach Obama, Pelosi and Reid and retract legislated corruption of our Constitutional government. Citizens demand that elected officials fulfill their CONSTITUTIONAL job description, not permit their own greedy whims to amass the pirated fortunes of corruption laying waste the population and the nation in legislated bankruptcy.
