Open thread: You know what America needs? More Barack Obama on television

8 p.m. ET across the dial, or try C-SPAN.org if you’re sans TV. Serious question: Why did The One call this presser? Half of it will be esoterica about Geithner’s rescue plan, the other half will be perfunctory outrageous outrage about the AIG bonuses. We can do without more of either. If you’re watching and anxious for annotation entertainment (anno-tainment?), though, there’s an embarrassment of liveblogging riches to choose from. The boss will have something going, as will Ace — with special guest star Iowahawk filling in for Obama’s teleprompter. And in what I think is a first, Greg Gutfeld will be spending his night off sharing his thoughts with Daily Gut readers. Don’t mention Canada in the comments!
While we wait, enjoy the near-epic failure of Organizing for America’s first foray into post-election canvassing. Or laugh along as CNBC cravely caves to leftist criticism by hiring Howard Dean as a contributor and inviting nutroots eminence Arianna Huffington to guest host their morning show. Good work, Jon Stewart.
Update: The TOTUS is ready, baby.

Are you channeling Alinsky? Obviously, you couldn’t have been watching the same thing we(at least those of us that could stomach it) were watching.

I’m starting to wonder if getalife is not really AP, trying to give us a bone to pick.

Why did you go there? You should not ruin your evening with pathological narcissistic ciphers. It’s way more entertaining to watch getalife.

The real Peggy Noonan, that is, since… quoting the sockpuppet would be like believing Obama projects those words onto the teleprompter with his mind. Oh.

Don’t ask. Just enjoy the evening with your son.

64 days, no attacks, economy saved, agenda is set and he is on track to being one of the best.
Doom and gloom for the cons while the talking heads try to tear him down.
For the majority of American voters, finally, a leader.

TOTUS screwed him up a little bit tonight, but later Rahm smirked in satisfaction at one of his answers. Glad Fox showed that.

I said when Obama called on Ann Compton and they did this “You look surprised I called on you. Oh, I am!” back and forth it sounded contrived. Well, Drudge is saying (no link):
SOURCE: Reporters were told In advance if they president was going to call on them…
KittyLowrey on March 24, 2009 at 10:26 PM
Wow, check out the pic on Drudge. Looks like Presidente Pinnochio’s coke is wearing off and he needs to crash for a day or two.

Wait till he is REALLY tested, not by his proposed budget that could destroy us in the next 4 or 5 years, but by a pending attack that could kill 10’s of thousands. I am afraid that when that damn red phone starts ringing at 3 in the morning this hack will freeze.
Since there is probably no teleprompter next to the phone he will have to depend on Tweets from Rham.
Of course the thinking of someone like getalife would be that the thousands of deaths would be deserved because they didn’t support the Dear One with the proper enthusiasm and understanding.

I’m sure that Princess Meagan of the order of McCain would succumb for AP’s charm and prose
I’m sure she’d fall in love if he would cross her path
He would surely be successful at a pass
If his arms could only reach around her ass
PercyB on March 24, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Wow, did it really time out at 57 minutes? That’s scary.
Barry seems to be obsessed with that number-after all, he claims that there are 57 states.
Maybe he got his wires crossed with Mama T? After all, she inherited 57 varieties. And then threw it all away by marrying variety number 58. Did you know he served in Vietnam?
Del Dolemonte on March 24, 2009 at 10:56 PM
I’m sure that Princess Meagan of the order of McCain would succumb to AP’s charm and pose

And possibly persuade him he should take a bath
Then he would surely be successful at a pass

Anyone notice how Obama never takes a position on his own? He always says “and that not just what I think” or “it’s not just my opinion”, or “that’s what blue chip experts say, not just me”.
That’s the kind of President we have. Someone who’s not not afraid to go it alone.
He also likes to talk about how hard everything is, and mention that he inherited this problem. Guess what, genius, being the President is ALWAYS hard. First President, he earned the job by leading his people through 8 years of war, and faced immediate squabbles and financial turmoil during his term in office.

Thankfully we were at a ballgame during the Obama & co. theatre show…really isn’t is a play since it scripted?
Anyway just got a chance to watch as much as we could stand – and truthfully the begining was absolutely the worst job by the TOTUS. It was disturbing watching his eyes go back & forth reading the script in front of him. But it was as usual it was humorous when he lost his line.
Frankly I would have rather watched Hornetsting’s cat.

Washington led the war for independence and defined executive power. Then Jefferson created the concept of government by the people. Lincoln for his ideas on equality and the permanent union of the states. Roosevelt for the 20th c. role of the US in world affairs. Reagan ushered in the greatest economic peacetime expansion in America’s history.
Big shoes to fill for this stuttering prick, if you want to call him one of the best. No, he did not save us from a depression; he created a punishing debt. He did not make our country safer; he sent a signal to the world that our leader is weak. Before you start your crazy talk.

My apathetic wife was irritated that he was on AGAIN in place of her American Idol.
I commented, yeah it’s funny how G.W. left us alone unless it was a REAL emergency or we were going to war. Obama has an incessant need to always be on the TV. Whether it be Leno, his daily barrage of speeches, his youtubes, his fake SOTU and more.
It’s really creepy. I told her to get used to it. In other tyrannical countries dear leader is on TV everyday reminding the people how to live.

Yes. He found 57 different ways to remind us. He still keeps repeating like a cheap hotdog with relish.
Yoop on March 24, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Obama is a liar too. The GOP has alternative plans and budgets. They are now allowed to bring them or discuss them due to Chairman Pelosi.
Also, Obama thinks because of the 3T in debt added over the last 8 years that he can go into 9T more of debt the next 6 because we have to do some difficult things.
What a doofus. I can’t wait until this nightmare is over. Pelosi and Reid too.
