The AIG bonus controversy, which Democrats hoped to use to lever populist outrage against capital, blew up in their faces and convinced capital investors to shelter themselves from the storm.

The Dems played it badly because
1. They were the ones who write the guarantees the execs would collect bonuses from the bankrupt company before Uncle Sam got his money back
2. They publicized the fact the bonuses were dished out to work the public to stoke outrage
3. Then, they did not stop the bonuses.
4. A 90 percent retroactive tax scares everyone and limiting pay up front on an entire job category scares everyone

The public is not outraged about finacial talent leaving American banking, the public is outraged about the talent taking the millions with them

Whether the DEMs hurt themselves because financial talent is bailing is another question. Losing pools sharks from the pool hall only makes hustlers weep

How many of these “writers” are on HA; and how much would it cost to do the same to Kos, DU, et al?
Who is funding these idiots and how are they connected to the DNC?

Can we please completely ignore the trolls! If we don’t feed them, they won’t come. Plain and simple. Remember when Axelrod paid bloggers to comment on conservative sites to make it look like it was a lost cause? Can we not at least for now assume the same thing of these trolls and move on?

Imagine one of the recent “Tea Parties” with 4,000 people being attacked for not supporting the president.

Imagine Ogabe’s FBI “mysteriously” not able to prosecute a genuine hate crime….

fact is if they want to play violent they are gonna learn that one side has a lot of vets with guns, and CQB training and they have urinating on themselves and whining…unless they break out the NoI, Crips and Bloods, and La Raza gangbangers…

It’s already soon-when C-BS is reduced to oversampling Democrats by 30% to get the poll results getalife asks for, we’ve officially entered Bizarro World.

Getalife is such a liberal. He is convinced that what The One is doing is right (at least that word enters his domain) when these polls are indicators that it is not.

It should not be on us to make him see our way. Ignore his postings because questioning what he is saying will only lead to further aggregation and heartache.

Goes to show how horribly things turn out when charity is coerced via taxation for government programs enacted by corrupt politicians and run by inept self promoting bureaucrats self referenced as “public servants”.

Until we “reset” to rescind legislation, all the Socialist wheeling and dealing will continue grinding us into dust.

The U.S. Border Patrol plans to poison the plant life along a 1.1-mile stretch of the Rio Grande riverbank as soon as Wednesday to get rid of the hiding places used by smugglers, robbers and illegal immigrants.

If successful, the $2.1 million pilot project could later be duplicated along as many as 130 miles of river in the patrol’s Laredo Sector, as well as other parts of the U.S.-Mexico border.–Houston Chronicle

Do you realize the further erosive soil loss, widening of the channel, and choking of the Rio Grande riverbed filled in with eroded soil, resulting in more severe flooding implications given the regional rain of severe thunderstorm downpours.

I appreciate the Border Patrol needs to function. Put in the electronic fence FIRST before removing all vegetation from the “great river” meant to provide agricultural irrigation and water for every population, human and wildlife. Don’t tell me the chemical is safe to drink and eat.

Thinking about leaving the set on, putting in my CD of the soundtrack of “Fiddler on the Roof” (yes, I know…but it was the first musical we listened to when I was in elementary school, so there’s a sentimental attachment to it), and singing along, very loudly and VERY off-key. Can’t hurt.

I would argue that things are not moving too slowly, but moving too recklessly with the economy. The whole “throw the kitchen sink at it” approach does not, in my opinion, inspire confidence that the administration actually knows what it’s collectively doing.

I think deep down most Democrats (at least most Dem politicians) yearn for some Great Depression so they can trot out some other ineffective New Deal that nevertheless will serve to keep them in office by passing out just enough goodies. Heck, LBJ cooked up a New New Deal while we were in good times, and we’re still paying for it.

I would argue that things are not moving too slowly, but moving too recklessly with the economy. The whole “throw the kitchen sink at it” approach does not, in my opinion, inspire confidence that the administration actually knows what it’s collectively doing. That, and the seeming disconnect that the public senses between what The O said DURING the campaign, and what he’s done so far SINCE the campaign – many of his disciples fell in love with him because he was offering so much that was 180 degrees out from the Bush administration. Lovely rhetoric, but much of it was simply that. That comes as a gigantic disappointment to the Loyal Followers.
