“Missing in action is the Barack Obama who vowed to unite the country around common values. Lately he has been the very opposite of the man he promised. Instead of hope, many have a growing fear of the arrogant government he leads…
In truth, there is no history for what he is doing. He is the most radical President of our times, far outside the mainstream of our political philosophy…
He is not a reformer who fixes things. He fancies himself ‘transformative,’ a man who reshapes and reorders. It apparently begins with smashing the existing order under the pretext of managing the crisis he inherited.
During the campaign, a fellow journalist confided that ‘I know Obama is a Manchurian candidate, I just can’t figure out what for.’
I laughed then, but no more.”

I know, I know …….
……. the bigger muskets and powder are for home defense.
I need something to make a loud “bang” to disperse those that aren’t serious when need be ……..
……. so those who are left, attract my undivided attention.

I agree he’ll be a disaster for the Black community. I always thought that after the first Black president Barack we’d be given the opportunity to elect the first “real” Black president, no White ancestors and genuine slave blood, just because the “Dream” was only partially fulfilled.
Now I think Blacks will shortly be citing his ancestral short-comings in order to distance themselves from his disaster in progress, because Zero is the wrong kind of Dream.
Maquis on March 23, 2009 at 12:20 AM
I think you have a point. Sometimes I wonder if Obama even cares if he gets re-elected. Sometimes I think he just wanted to try this out to prove to all of those “cool kids” that he too would someday be cool… I know it goes a lot deeper, but I don’t think that Obama is a “soft hearted liberal.”

To me, he sounds like one of those marxist robots who can’t string two thoughts together, but once you get on one of their practiced areas, they have a whole script they start reciting. Like a Latin American anti-capitalist. That’s why it strikes me as coming from Indonesia. Ages five to ten are formative years.
I would really love to know who funded all of his schooling and traveling.

Well, crap, maybe…but I sure hope not :) .
I think he, like every other liberal, wants power plain and simple. I believe that he handled the porkulus bill the way he did so that Congress would “owe him” when it came time for him to push through his health care and other radical plans. Just like Bush thought that he could get points with Congress by increasing spending on education and other crap like that.
I have no way of knowing if he agreed with Rev. Wright or if he even payed attention to what the guy was saying. He wasn’t there for spiritual fulfillment. He used the Rev, and the church, and the Black community to get cred…to get power. And it worked.

Another thing to consider is that Obama has ordered that used military brass cannot be sold as is to be reloaded, commercially or otherwise. It is all to be melted down. That’s gonna hurt ammunition prices big-time. Especially 5.56 and 9mil I suppose.

Bishop, this is from the transcript
I just want to say that– the only thing less popular than putting money into banks is putting money (LAUGHS) into the auto industry. So–
STEVE KROFT:
18 percent are in favor.
PRESIDENT OBAMA:
(LAUGHS) That’s–
STEVE KROFT:
Seventy-six percent against.
PRESIDENT OBAMA:
It– it– it’s not a high number.
STEVE KROFT:
You’re sitting here. And you’re– you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, “I mean, he’s sitting there just making jokes about (LAUGHTER) money–” How do you deal with– I mean, wh– explain -
PRESIDENT OBAMA:
Well–
STEVE KROFT:
–the mood and your laughter.
PRESIDENT OBAMA:
Yeah, I mean, there’s got to be–
STEVE KROFT:
Are you punch drunk?
PRESIDENT OBAMA:
No, no. There’s gotta be a little gallows humor to (LAUGHS) get you through the day. You know, sometimes my team– talks about the fact that if– if you had said to us a year ago that– the least of my problems would be Iraq, which is still a pretty serious problem– I don’t think anybody would have believed it. But– but we’ve got a lot on our plate. And– a lot of difficult decisions that we’re going to have to make.

No. I think it’s the same mistake that Bush made when he first got in. He was used to making nice with Democrats in his state and thought he would get something back for it. Oops.
I think that Obama fails to understand that Democrats in congress don’t care about anything, no program, no ideology, no nothin’, anywhere near as much as they care about the personal acquisition of power.

They. Are. Not. Happy.
Knucklehead on March 23, 2009 at 12:32 AM
Yeah. I’m sure he’s home right now sobbing like an innocent little babe over that utterly inexplicable deviation from what you know – deep down inside – to be his REAL character.
Because he is exactly like every other liberal in the world: he only wants “rainbows and butterflies.” And everyone who disagrees with that must be a lunatic, right Sigmund?

James on March 23, 2009 at 12:34 AM
I saw a little bit of that interview and the only thing he can do is try to pin everything on Bush. He was asked about decisions he has to make on a daily basis and he replied that his decision making would be easier if decisions made last year, 2 years ago, or even 5 years ago weren’t made the way they were. Everything is always someone else’s fault. He won’t own up to anything. He has skated all of his life and he plans on skating to the end of his term.
cjs1943 on March 23, 2009 at 12:34 AM
Yes, by nature, progressives crave power, but I think there are programs that they go out of their way to support. For example, Queen Nan taking on her “faith” over abortions/contraceptives. Clearly, she believes government funding of sex toys is a constitutional right… I wonder if she could still appease her San Fran community if she wasn’t as outspoken.
Upstater85 on March 23, 2009 at 12:34 AM
…and he sees every one of these “crises” as an opportunity to expand governmental control of the economy and society.
29Victor on March 23, 2009 at 12:34 AM
But– but we’ve got a lot on our plate. And– a lot of difficult decisions that we’re going to have to make.
And I really don’t have the first clue on how to do any of this. Presidenting is tough, ya know, and I don’t get a lot of sleep and one of the aholes on my staff should have frackin’ TOLD me that there was more to the job than cocktail parties and my nifty Air Force One jacket.

Reloaded, or melted? Big difference. A case can only be reloaded so many times and each individual case must be inspected…well…unless you are a Russian or Chicom.
A stretched neck on a case or a popped primer between hammer and sear(common reload problem) can run an M4’s whole day (not to mention the good fella pointing the rascal).

I’m pretty sure I’m right on this one. I remember the ’70s. Obama represents nothing more than unrestrained liberalism, just like Jimmy Carter. Clinton had to act like a moderate to get elected and then was restrained even more by a Republican Congress.
And I don’t see liberals in search of power as a rational actor. I see them like a Medieval doctor bleeding a patient. They will insist on keeping up the “cure” until they kill the guy and then say “well, maybe next time.”

Thanks. I’ve been searching some on the web. I did find some stuff on a police interview site about laughter and deception that I thought was interesting.
Everyone knows about nervous laughter, but that’s not what took place. I don’t think it’s gallows humor either. To me gallows humor is something you use as an escape valve when you’re hurting. When other people are in a disastrous situation it’s totally inappropriate to laugh.
This was especially incongruent (that words nails it) because he has a great deal of power and his actions directly affect many people around the world.
