Quotes of the day
posted at 9:30 pm on March 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Missing in action is the Barack Obama who vowed to unite the country around common values. Lately he has been the very opposite of the man he promised. Instead of hope, many have a growing fear of the arrogant government he leads…
In truth, there is no history for what he is doing. He is the most radical President of our times, far outside the mainstream of our political philosophy…
He is not a reformer who fixes things. He fancies himself ‘transformative,’ a man who reshapes and reorders. It apparently begins with smashing the existing order under the pretext of managing the crisis he inherited.
During the campaign, a fellow journalist confided that ‘I know Obama is a Manchurian candidate, I just can’t figure out what for.’
I laughed then, but no more.”

Dude, Barry wasn’t around those that spoke Ebonics until he was in Rev. Wright’s Circus. No, Barry was definitely a loner … a momma’s boy.
Upstater85 on March 22, 2009 at 11:20 PM
Yes. I tried to point out, during the campaign, that the key to many of his stupid mistakes emanated from the fact that he is not really “American”, in the sense of being raised as an American. The ’57 state’ gaffe was one that only a non-American could ever make. Americans tend to confuse 50 and 52, but never 57. He made a lot of these mistakes – especially with respect to history, where it was obvious that he had the view of a third-worlder. But this never caught on during the campaign. To me, it stuck out like a sore thumb.

That’s what I thought, at first. But he was raised by his typical, white grandmother, and his mother, at times. It was the Indonesian schooling, I think. I doubt his mother or grandmother, being typical white people, had any problems with the indefinite article. Very odd stuff.
progressoverpeace on March 22, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Three words: Nation of Islam.
The thing that always slowed down liberal dilettante Communists is that they had the diametrically opposed goals of trying to collectivise the American economy while keeping as much wealth as possible for themselves.
Obama has no such compunction. His only goal is to throw as many monkey wrenches in the works as fast as he possibly can. He was trained since birth to be radical, and he is absolutely nothing else.
Real Islam, like Communism, has as its ultimate tenet that uniting the world under one giant yoke will magically create a Paradise on earth.
The Chicago-based Nation of Islam doesn’t preach that. Its only goal can be summed up in three words: “God damn America.” After the purge of the ancestors of slave traders, the doctrine just sort of lapses into some gibberish about a giant spaceship from the planet Zepton or something.
The details of the endgame are pretty darned fuzzy. But Obama’s short term goal could not possibly be more clear.

The Lightweight Worker was yukking it up on 60 minutes about the economic crisis. What a complete clown. What, did he think he was still on Leno or something?
I have this feeling that the train wreck cometh, and its name is Obama. The only people who aren’t worried, publicly or otherwise, are those who are so invested in the Tabula Rasa, the Empty Suit, that they refuse to see what’s so obviously before them: a rank amateur in his first real job with absolutely no f’ing idea what he’s doing.

OT: This obnoxious letter to Chirac makes me wonder WHO thought THAT was a GOOD idea? Are there no brains in the WH? How can one man surround himself with so many equally lame-brained people? It’s astonishing!
DrStock on March 22, 2009 at 11:25 PM
Why is that noteworthy? So we can have a repeat of 2002-2006 where Bush and the Republicans spent like drunken sailors? Where Bush/Republicans can create another massive welfare program like the Medicare prescriptions? Where they can expand the public school system like never in our history? Where they can attempt to pass amnesty in the dead of night with no hearings, no reading of proposals ala Stimulus bill?
You mean you want us to go back to that?
If they ever get power again, I wonder what those losers will do, I wonder if they’ll spit in the faces of their supporters again.

Nah. I don’t dig it when people throw out the “Manchurian Candidate” explanation, or even the Nation of Islam one.
Obama is a capital “L” Liberal. Plain and simple. There isn’t anything secret or conspiratorial about it. This is how liberals think, this is what they have wanted for decades. He’s governing exactly the way Pelosi or Reid or Frank would govern in his place.
Don’t let the left off of the hook for Obama by blaming all this crap on some conspiracy. This is Liberalism in all it’s glory.

How many may finally be thinking that Obama is not a smart man, as we have been told? Nor is he a calculating man, as has been inferred. He probably isn’t anywhere near the educated man, as has been touted. He is not any of the things his supporters tried to convince us we would see in him.
His single-mindedness, which can just as quickly morph into indeciveness, surrounded by near-evil smiles and nervous laughter is disconcerting.
I believe that we are actually looking at a very real sociopath who has nearly learned to hide the affliction with the deftness of a Chameleon.

There are several of them here on HA, there and elsewhere. They have quite a few things, easily recognizeable, in common:
- noms de internet
- writing style
- same exact talking points, on any topic, given to them by their masters
- staying power – don’t get mad at them, just smile at the gnats-a-dozen they are
- nothing better to do all day, every day, every thread
- serving their masters, blindly
- not very deep
- plus a few others which escape me; I’ve documented them here in the past – they’re just too easy to spot in their machinery.
They should never be confused with the few serious liberals/democrats who comment here.

True_King on March 22, 2009 at 11:38 PM
First of all, liberalism is collectivism – which is absolutely nothing BUT conspiracy. That doesn’t mean that it’s always well-planned; in fact in the case of the moonbats it is anything but that. It’s just the gestalt of a bunch of confused mind rejecting reason and replacing it with perceived concensus: what Bill Bennett referred to as “the herd of independant minds.”
Nation of Islam is simply a sub-set of liberalism – like Communism, Socialism, or the radical elements of Islam.
It’s all poison, just different flavors. What Obama is doing is clearly different from what Bill Clinton did.

Sure. He’s ONLY a fiscal genius. He’s genuine. He’s built billion dollar businesses from scratch. Every president should have the business knowledge this man has. He also has lived life on the straight-and-narrow, is a self-made man, has a wonderful family, is a solid leader, and is a Reagan style conservative. He wasn’t built up by a chicago-thug-mafia-style machine. He doesn’t believe in taking from one populus to strengthen another. And he believes in defending our country.
Oh, and he’s good looking and makes great speeches… since that seems to be the only thing that’s a presidential pre-requisite in some people’s eyes.
